While the team look credible, that Airswap protocol whitepaper is a load of shit and outlines nothing more than a basic API, the idea itself seems fine but at the same time nothing that stands out. I just don't see reasons to invest.
The Official Crypto ICO thread
I'm passing on the Electroneum IPO.
Why?
Why?
- Relies on mobile phone cpus for mining (despite them being limited in power and hashrate)
- Moblie gaming and gambling companies have no incentive to cooperate
- No technical white paper on ICO site.
- Yuge coin count, and charging a cent for each of them.
- They aren't a scam, just a bad idea from marketeers.

Absolutely.
What a piece of junk.
I'm passing on airswap as well.

I'll risk it but not HODL.
If you want a quick turnaround, then you should buy something that obviously shows immediate value and potential to crypto traders, and what could be better than something solves their of the biggest annoyances, the orderbook.
Without it, whale manipulation and for decentralised on chain exchanges, miner advance notice

I am very down on DEX technology in general. I think it has unsurmountable problems.
Clicked the wrong damn post.
So, let me get this straight: people send real crypto to the people behind ICO and then they get some sort of tokens in return. What happens to the real crypto that was sent to the people behind ICO? And what safety mechanisms are there to prevent them from just abandoning the project and running with the real crypto? Or do they even get to control the real crypto that was sent to the ICO address? I'm confused.
They exchange the crypto for fiat to fund their project.
They could easily run away with the money and buy lambos. That's why you have to do your research.

Guys, who wants some Spheris?

There's only 2 trillion of them, so you'd better hurry now before they sell out!

What's your opinions on LAToken? The ICO is ongoing and it's a lot more straightforward to invest than any other ICO that I've experienced. I've put a decent amount into it but considering risking even more.
I like it and have invested, though there's a couple red flags, and I think the marketcap is gigantic.

What red flags do you see?
The potential hassle of having to juggle different legal environments?

I think the whitepaper is overly optimistic regarding the use of the platform.
Project founders seemed slightly shady.
The big marketcap is another turnoff.
Worries about it getting listed on an exchange.
That's about it.

Thoughts on KYC? 24 hours to get in on the ICO.
Anyone in Request? Imo one of the best ICOs as of lately.

Yeah I've done the KYC and just waiting on a confirmation. I read though that there will be a 7 ETH max contribution per person though so can't put a life changing amount into it.
Next time sign up some more emails and get your buddies to hook you up with IDs/passports.

I signed up to the waitlist too late.
Request looks great, so it's a shame I can't buy.

Might be worthwhile to pick it up on EtherDelta. Usually the price will spike soon after release as peak FOMO hits, so usually you can buy it at a better price point if you wait a day or two after it hits ED.
Odds are that even if you pick it up at a premium on ED you'll still be able to make some decent gains by the time the token hits bigger exchanges. Seeing as this is probably the best ICO of October I expect some timely exchange listings to come through.

When is Request coming to Ether Delta exactly?

As soon as tokens become tradable, which is currently unknown.
Heads up though, it's likely that the Request ICO will underperform relative to its quality since a lot of money is flowing out of alts into Bitcoin due to the upcoming fork on October 25th.

I'm now all in (albeit at the very low limit) on Airswap. Now I'm just waiting for the Request Network ICO.
What's everybody got their eye on next? I'm looking at Confideal, WaBi and Ambrosus right now but no idea whether to put money into them yet.

Request is going to be good.
Also Mercury will be good too. 24M cap and Mark Cuban as an advisor. I'm liking those numbers for a flip.
