This isn't answering your question, but I recently watched "The Getaway," the 1994 version with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Of course the Alec Baldwin character is alpha. But watch the subplot between the characters Harold and Rudy, where Rudy cuckolds Harold and screws Harold's wife (played by Jennifer Tilly) while Harold is tied up in the bathroom. That whole subplot is about the alpha/beta dynamic, negging, cockiness, and the pussy-tingle effect an alpha can have on a woman.

I was once stuck at my aunts house with nothing to do so I went through her DVD collection and found this gem.

Closer- Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Clive Owen, and Julia Roberts

The movie has a lot of game and how two couples are cheating on each other.

Bellflower, the main character is the most concise portrayal of a beta that I've ever seen, ofcourse his girlfriend turns out to be a whore and cheats on him, the dude has a massive meltdown and goes ape shit. It's actually a pretty good movie, kind of trippy like a David Lynch film.

MONA LISA (1986).
The final few moments of the film where tough-as-metal "George" (played by Bob Hoskins) realizes he's been played for the fool ripped into my heart.

Good call on Tom Cruise's character in Magnolia. I used to see Paul Thomas Anderson (the guy who wrote, produced and directed it) at Henry's Tacos in Studio City, since I lived real close and ate there a couple of times a week.

It was during the time he was filming the movie. I had no idea how good it would be and how great Cruise's charter would be. After filming ended I never saw him again. Wish I had, because I wanted to ask him how fun it was writing the dialogue for Cruise.

My Best Friend's Girl.

Hardly a classic but is basically about the alpha/beta dynamic.

I guess we've all probably seen it, but what about Office Space? Guy has a lame girl and terrible cubicle monkey job, and through hypnosis and stealing from his employer he learns a valuable lesson about going after what he really wants in life. It's a comedy, sure, but it always felt a little deeper to me, about what tedious nonsense people will put up with in their lives until they realize it's killing them.

Agreed, movie has a pretty strong/good message.

surprised no one mentioned Neil LaBute's In the Company of Men http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119361/

Everything LaBute does is all about alpha/beta relationships. Aaron Eckhart is good in that movie.

Of all the things that the manosphere has exposed me to, to my memory, In The Company Of Men was the only thing that struck me as actually misogynist. Call me a romantic, but I found it repulsive.

One of my favorite clips of game in the movies:

Lots of movies here have very beta characters, but Last American Virgin will rip a nice guy's heart out.

I think a lot of superhero origin movies could count too, not that they learn game necessarily (Tony Stark was already there before he became Iron Man), but the best one as far as the main character putting in the work to become something else has got to be Batman Begins

Upgrayedd. Which he spells thusly, with two D's, as he says, "for a double dose of this pimping".

The last american virgin is apparently a remake of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo_Limon Eskimo Limon, an Israeli version. I wonder what's that like.

There is a whole series of them in the link too.

Some great choices mentioned. Very surprised to see it taking so long for Gone with the Wind to be posted. The classic choice.

Two that stand out for me:

The Sea Wolf: London's fantastic book made into a wonderful film. The main protagonist - a soft, feminine, Christian writer who is mentally proficient but lacks accomplishment and experience in the real world - finds himself on a ship governed by a cruel, powerful and social-darwinist spouting ubermensch of a captain. As much as he loathes his time on-board he grows as a man and his experience forever betters him.

The Night Porter: The story of a Jewish woman who falls for her brutal concentration camp officer and her love that transcends the war. Power is a potent aphrodisiac. Here is all you need to know about that on celluloid. One film to get a woman tingling.

I appreciate these recommendations, there are a number of movies listed I haven't seen yet. I do think, though, that most superhero and action movies don't qualify as "red pill" movies even if they feature strong masculine characters only because they're so often based in fantasy worlds and hypergamous girls chasing a superhero is just a cliche and often overly romanticized. Watching say, Downy, Jr. for cocky-funny and alpha body language ideas is another matter, but actors in general are very sensitive to the way body language conveys status.

But for my contribution: Ides of March, with Ryan Gosling and George Clooney, on the other hand, deals with sexual market conflicts fairly directly. You've got ruthless alpha political jerks and a hot young starry-eyed intern, all of them get a dose of reality.

Kind of tame, and very "British", but pretty good, is the School for scoundrels:

They remade it with Billy bob Thornton and lots of "Ow my balls" jokes, but it wasn't the same
Based on a series of books that were about getting one up in every sphere of life, part game tactics and part social satire, probably the only Game the middle class british would have known about or needed in the 60's

It's really nasty; they're taking out their past frustrations on a good girl who clearly has done no wrong and is completely powerless. But it's a brilliant film.

Plenty of sharp psychological insight: the girl goes from being dateless to relishing the attention and not being able to make a decisive choice, Chad brilliantly manipulates not only the girl but also his nerdy friend.

It's also a warning not to let bitterness left by bad experiences with nasty bitches in the past poison your view of all girls. That's a lesson a lot of freshly minted players who have been burned in the past should take to heart.

I submit Castaway.

Before being marooned on a deserted island, he was a fat work-a-holic. I remember the main character lecturing FedEx employees on the importance of time. He worked as some sort of efficiency manager at FedEx.

Anyway, he makes it back to civilization having been transformed into quite a different man. I think many men doing mindless work dream of having that kind of experience.

Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970)
One of those gritty early 70's movies.
"Little" Fauss (Michael Pollard) is a motorcycle mechanic who has no friends and lives with his parents. He dreams of being a professional motocross racer, but keeps falling off his motorcycle. Into his garage one day strolls Halsy Knox (Robert Redford), a buffed cyclebum who walks around shirtless with a pretty girl perpetually on his arm. He's been disqualified from racing, but sees Fauss as a golden opportunity: race under Fauss' name with his bike and they'll both earn plenty of cash. All Fauss has to do is tag along as his mechanic.
But Halsy is also a conman of the worst sort. He steals money and parts from everyone around him. He's not above giving his chick of the moment to a sleazy photography for some cash. He claims to be Fauss' friend, but he's just using him. Eventually Fauss sees through Halsy's charade.
What's great about this movie is watching beta chump Hauss grow a pair and stand up to Halsy. He even learns Game to pick up his own chicks. And when he finally confronts Halsy at the conclusion of the movie, it's very subtle and effective.

I second this one. This movie is amazing. It had some of the best dialogue in a movie that has come out in the last decade. It seems like it wouldn't be all that at first; but it is really good. One line from the movie that I will never forget is:

Lying's the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

A well-produced allegory. RVF members should
be able to pick out the characters as metaphors.

An analysis can be found here
http://www.davidheuser.com/CTHD.html

"The whole point of being alpha, is doing what the fuck you want.
That's why you see real life alphas without chicks. He's doing him.

Real alphas don't tend to have game. They don't tend to care about the emotional lives of the people around them."
