Writing 'biological factors keep women and minorities out of tech' at Google in 2017 is like writing 'the Eucharist is just bread' in the Catholic Church during the middle ages.

It's a bold move but not very smart i'm afraid. He's going to get shitcanned with all the hysteria and triggering going on and google will replace him with 10 indian code monkeys.

While it's true from a macro level that he did a stupid thing assuming that he could have a good faith convo about this issue openly, imagine what it is like from his point of view.

He's likely someone who any of us would consider borderline soy in manner and dispositions. He probably also happens to be really damn good at what he does, and to be a true believer in his company (and I don't blame him, Google is excellent in many respects, no matter what they do politically). And at the end of they day, he probably really gives a shit about pursuing an objective view of reality (given the nature of his job).

What does he see around him? Diversity hires coming in and diluting his life's work. Diluting the work of his beloved company! He thinks "oh these people are nice and everything, I wish them the best. But they don't belong here. They will end up unhappy because they are not up to snuff, and we will be unhappy having to carry them on our backs. I'm back in highschool again, doing the entire group project because the dumb girl and the hot girl and the jock are too busy and/or uninterested and/or incapable of contributing. I just need to make people aware, and once they realize what is happening, we can sort this out."

He most likely limited his view to that range. And in nearly any normal position that might have been enough. A less tainted culture or company would have had a few alpha leaders present who could have backed his cause and made it more palatable to normies and fence sitters.

But where he is now, he'll end up like Ned Stark in Game Of Thrones.

But if it's a 'glamorous' job at a tech company, all of a sudden they demand we ignore the mental differences. I don't think 'tech' jobs became in vogue until at least the late 90s anyways. Only dry nerds really got into programming in the early days, but media made it seem cool now the women demand places and their totalitarian masters are happy to use it to attack men further.

Media has been pushing this women in tech narrative hard for the past 20 years at least. I can name countless shitty movies and tv shows where it's always some model who is a "hacker" or tech genius. I seem to recall this nonsense cropping up a lot sometime around the old dot com boom and hollywood has gone full retard with it in the past 5 years.

The number of times i've encountered a woman who is really knowledgeable about tech (or any other technical field) in real life: Zero.

A skilled woman in tech is about as fictional as superheroes who can fly and shoot lasers from their eyes. I'm sure there's maybe .000001% women who are actually into coding but most likely they have ham hock legs with cottage cheese thighs and big giant floppy veiny breasts along with a female 'stache.

The sugar-coated, sweet cupcake buzzwords the left gets you to bite into, once bitten, quickly turn into ugly totalitarian mandatory policies that shut down reason or thought.

Poor saps like this find out the hard way it was never about compassion, equality, science, or any of that. They want complete control and submission of your life, they were never interested in improvement or science or problem solving.

As far as the UK, the smart black people I know, go into more "tradtional" smart people roles, like law, medicine, mech/electrical/chem engineering etc.

Which is due to most of us being 1st/2nd generation immigrants, & these career paths being more straightforward and stable. Our parents push us into a few fields, hence why there arent many black people in tech, proportional to our numbers in the UK.

Shit, when I was a kid my mother told me to stop messing around with computers, otherwise I'd "never get a good job"

Also, I woudnt even want to work somewhere where I was hired preferentially just because I was black. I'd be taken less seriously by my colleagues, consciously or unconciously, & my fragile male ego couldnt handle that.

In fact, we best go ahead and dissolve entire Google right now. Who's with me? [Image: banana.gif]

Google can guess if you are a man or a woman based on your online activities. Google compiles a lot of data to create a profile of every people who used one of the Google websites, this profiling includes their political orientation.

With all the data of your profile, Google decides which informations are displayed when you make a search on Google, Youtube or other activities you are doing online.

Google will show different informations depending on the gender of the user. But hey, the official speech of Google is that all gender are equal.

Maybe in the future the next Edward Snowden will enlighten us about Google's dirty secrets.

Google has to buy into whatever progressive dogma catches on. It gives them cover for their business. If they were a wrong-thinking company with a powerful surveillance apparatus (their business model is surveillance), professional grievance mongers could scare companies into buying fewer ads.

But hey, don't mind the overwhelming hoovering of private data about individuals because Google totally supports rights for trannies and other victim classes.

Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone

This is an interesting topic and one I've been quite interested in lately.

I cannot say the author did a good thing or not. Yes, it will be difficult for him to stay at Google or get a job elsewhere but perhaps the satisfaction of not being bullied by a corporation is worth it for him.

Every morning, most of us get up and go to work in a job we may not love for a company we may not love. We do it because there are few other options. We stick to our agreement to do a certain amount of work for a certain amount of compensation. We dont go there for friendships, or political change, nor to change the world for the better.

We submit to our managers authority on work-related matters as that is part of the contract we enter into. If we are told to do our job in such and sucb a way most employees will not argue and will do as told.

The problem occurs when said employer starts to believe their authority extends into the employees personal life. This would include all non-work related topics such as cultural values, family values and political values.

Each worker has a reasonable expectation (right even) to be treated witbh dignity and respect at work. However, once an employer tries to interfere with your personal values and beliefs then this is an attack on personal dignity.

I respect the author in this case, as he did not sit there and take it up the ass, not yet anyway.

In the past I had worked for a company that routinely sent out emails about Womens Networking events, even to me, a male. I never saw a single email about male netwroking events, but thats not even the point. The point is, the company could of easily sent those mails out only to women, so why send it to men too? I seemed to me they wanted to get inside my head and just fuck with me. Because everytime I saw it just brought back all the feminism bullshit we talk about. I dont wanna get distracted at work and think about that stuff. Perhaps its a form of mind control for them.

We also had a regular emails and promotions for a LGBTQ Ally program, whatever that was. I have my own views on sexuality and dont want some corporation telling me whats right and wrong.

I used to see this person every day. A 6 ft well built blonde man in a dress, saying he is married with two children. I dont judge but it makes me feel sick and I dont wanna to deal with seeing/thinking about that shit everyday, becuase the office environment is pretty depressing as it is.

At the end of the day we all have to go to work. Mo employer has the right to bash cultural or religious values into our heads. They are not an authority on that and all employees should be given sufficient dignity such that their personal views are not challenged, because this is not part of the job.

This is going into the space of authoritarian mind-control, and at work to where we cannot ignore it. It is a misuse of power and should be fought by the thinking man.

If I was this guy I wouldnt have written what he write. I would simply have said that though I treat individual on their own merits, I have my own views on male/female characteristics, and there could be any number of reasons why women are under-repped, though I do not wish to discuss my private views with the company. I do not agree that women are necessarily discriminated against and I do not consider Google management to be sufficiently qualified to have an authoritative position on this topic.

Really what should happen is if some manager at work tells you about your cultural values or beliefs, they should get a swift slap.to the head. Because culture is upstream to economics, obviously. This is an affront to basic dignity.

It's also about prestige. Nobody cares about the 3rd in command programmer at Google who talks at SV conferences a few times a year. Everyone knows, who MR DOCTOR M.D. is, everyone knows who a Lawyer is and there is a automatic branding and prestige factor associated with it. Black folks like that prestige factor as you get to wear your hard work daily. You don't get that prestige in tech, you work for Google.. okay cool... Outside of SV and some circles nobody will know who you are or understand what you do. Everyone at a basic level understands what a Doctor or Lawyer does even if the specialization is as exotic and random as you can get.

So for all those who moan "no black people in tech" this won't change until Tech gets cool. It will get cool once you get rid of faggy autistics and soy boys who command legions of brainy nondescript Asian mental monkeys. This is slowly starting to change as kids are noticing you can learn code, and right out of HS get a nice paying job with an easy track to six figures if you see good at it. Kids in the hood are slowly ditching sports and music as get rich schemes and looking at technology, we will just need a few folks to make it cool before it explodes with the kids.

This won't include SV which is just a large camp for weirdos. A cook wave of new tech will jump off in places like Atalanta, London UK, Houston, Miami where you will get a mix of different types of people and a base of money and wealth to find it all.

As for the ladies... They could start anything and have money poured on them, few do it as few don't want to.

I've encountered a decent number, including some college professors. Some were Chinese and many were Indian. Though as the author of the Google memo wrote, female representation dwindles the deeper into the technological "boiler room" you go. It's a peculiar type of person, usually a man, who gets a thrill out of optimizing database queries.

A corporation is like a microcosm of the overall cyclical nature of a civilization.

Most start-ups begin with a noble idea and require a tremendous amount of time and economic self-sacrifice (pioneers), but then the original idea and sense of duty/sacrifice (the culture) is gradually replaced by the motivation to make even more money (commerce), and then eventually the profits gained must be protected at all costs, resulting in the willingness to sacrifice any sort of ideal, virtue, or culture for personal gain. It's even worse when the order of the day is social justice.

I recall a reference to a big IT company whereby, engineer types created & setup the company.
Yet when it came to expansion & marketing, the engineer types being out of their depth; hired marketing type folk & quietly returned to their engineering desks.
The engineer types not being focused on status nor promotions, simply tinkered away in the corner...

Over time, the directors & managers were no longer being drawn form the engineers.
The very people who provide the company with purpose.

No, the directors & managers became derived more & more from the marketing & HR folk.
Folk much more eager for wealth, status & success.

So in time the focus of the company shifts from providing a solid & reliable product.
To shiny, superficial shite geared towards exciting the simple minded masses.
Plus, the marketing folk feel it best to advertise the company as being socially conscious & politically correct.

At that point as we all know, it's a downward spiral as genuine profit loses emphasis to social justice.

Just once I would love to see an attempt at a rational counterargument against something like this. I honestly can't comprehend how a functioning person could make it to adulthood without observing that there are innate differences between the male and female brain, and I would legitimately like to learn the rationale behind such beliefs.

It's amazing how equalists are typically some of the most highly educated people, yet they consistently prefer expressing outrage that anyone dares question their beliefs over intellectual dialogue.
