No. First they were there as occupation troops after the war. Then the Cold War came and the US were our protecting power. E.g., the German forces have technically no nuclear weapons but the nuclear weapons that are stationed in Germany belong to the US. Since the end of the Cold War foreign military was reduced quite a lot. Nowadays I think the US use their German bases as some sort of stopover/logistical hub for their operations in the Middle East etc.

University of Munich has a German language school.I was thinking of signing up for one of their 2 month courses.It looks like a pretty good place.Being in Bavaria, lots of other beer festivals too,not just Oktoberfest.

Munich is fantastic.

If you're there during the week, by far the best places to go are the afterwork parties. They start early and finish relatively early but they are great places to make contacts.

At the weekend, try eat the rich on Hessstrase. A really crowded bar with stiff drinks. Get there before 9:30 as the bouncer there tends to be a bit moody. Even better is to reserve a place at the bar.
An older (28-36) place is Bar Lardy. They place lots of disco and funk but again, it's a really small bar that is fantastic for mingling. Lots of great girls who love to dance.
If you like salsa, try Cohibar City off Maximillianstrasse. Latin music with a crowd that is hit and miss. On a great night, there are lots of girls in a tight controlled space that is perfect for making approaches.

If you're there during Oktoberfest, invest in some lederhosen. Girls really love that and it will get you into the clubs after getting out of Oktoberfest. Germany, like America, has some parts that are good and bad. The thing most of you guys visiting miss out on Germany because you aren't here that long is that Germany has a hella amount of non-German talent living here. I've had the finest Russian/Kazakh/Greek/Portuguese/Turkish ass right here in the Fatherland. Whenever I wanna "visit Russia" I just go to Mannheim or Heidelberg or something cause they're all there. Berlin and Hamburg are proper cities but like everywhere in Germany you lose points for not speaking German. Germans have some patience but at some point that shit runs out and they expect you to speak to them in their language. Or, you'll lose out to the ugly German guy who does speak the language every time. Bavaria has the best look girls in Germany, with thick asses, blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. Some are thin and model like also. Too bad tho because it's the least likely place you'll hook up if you don't speak German or don't look German. And every German girl shaves the kitty kat. I've seen some extremely beautiful girls here. But on average German girls are like 6's or 7's, and they aren't that great in bed like EE girls. There are little bastions here and there of hot girls DTF foreign guys, and I find they're mostly in the north in NRW around Duisburg/Duesseldorf/Cologne/Dortmund. I don't know why this is. They're very direct people who want to get the quick and dirty about someone as fast and efficient as possible, unfortunately tho most of the time without even talking to the person. Thanks. All European girls IMO are sexually uninhibited. Especially the generation before mine (the women in their late 30's/early 40's now) as they were young in the 90's and it was a straight fucking orgy here for soldiers and contractors working here then. I'm a contractor for the US DoD. If you are in IT and can get a security clearance, it's probably the best way to see the world and get paid lots of fucking money in the process. But I'm not one of those guys who never wants to go back, so I'm coming back stateside for a few years to buy a house and get some affairs in order. Then it's back overseas again Just not Germany!

Been hanging out with a lot of Germans in a Brisbane hostel the last few days. Some of them are hot, some of them not. It's not too bad actually. But not a single one of them has an idea how to dress. Definitely looks like the clothes are from the Salvation Army...

They usually only hang out with people who speak German even while traveling... Plus they are definitely less DTF than girls from other countries... Only hookups that I've seen were kind of a mini relationship that took weeks to develop...

I completely agree with your assessment of NRW and Munich. NRW and the Ruhrgebiet areas are the most liberal and fun of Germany. Munich is in Bavaria and Bavaria is the German version of the USA Bible Belt.

Yeah, ditto that German chicks are usually unfeminine and also somewhat cold and boring. I think people forget though that there are so many non-Germans in places like Frankfurt. You walk around and you barely even see that many Germans. I've met incredibly hot Korean, Colombian, Sri Lankan, Indonesia chicks who were born and raised in Germany. Great post brotha, I'm stuck here in Bavaria and around Munich (namely Augsburg), and I hear ya. There's gotta be a way to turn around a situation and work game. On the other hand, why make my life harder than it is (I've got a career to deal with) and not fly for the weekend to Central and Eastern Europe and game it there? Somewhat surprised too, while its maybe been a bit for me since I've had active luck-I was running into Germans just about on an almost every other day basis in my U.S. city and the girls are usually always pretty warm/nice to talk to-but I've also experienced the German alpen-princesses as well (nice, but just hard as fuck to really get them to reciprocate on kino. If they aren't interested, them being European/German-they will NOT be touchy feely WHATSOEVER. Don't even try).I've met some that are cool as hell, they take their sports/fitness usually pretty serious, and the German culture is very open about sexuality so they dgaf. Was hanging out with one last week who said she's been in threesome, but basically the guy fucked it up because he wasn't leading (key to game anyone?!?) and basically how kinda awkward it got to be-but she would do it again if she gets the chance. Giggity giggity!

As far as Germany itself, I didn't know enough about it because I wasn't really up on my game at all before I went there. Maybe look into Hamburg, Frankfurt (Mainz) or Heidelberg? I do remember it being somewhat of a surprise as far as girls and the guys I was with at the time in Munich we're talking about it, and how 'Hitler musta killed all the ugly ones' haha. But I think it was also the country I saw the most skillrex type of haircuts, and this was last fall too. Getting to Oktoberfest (they call it Wiesn, not oktoberfest though) was on my bucket list, and I pretty much scheissed my pants getting there in Munich, Plus, about at least 70 percent of the women are in the Dirndl dresses. Omg. Just titties out and in heels.... wow. Ive seen it talked about on other threads, but I definitely wouldn't mind doing bad things to a fraulein in one of those with their hair in braids. Ohhh deustcheland fantasies, anyways. haha

I also remember, coming back on a bus from Neuschwanstein Castle and the man sitting across from me was reading the local newspaper or something. On the backside of the paper (the page/articles that were visible to me) was picture of woman, straight naked with titties perfectly visible and viewable to the public-not censored or anything. I was kinda looking around the bus to check if other people saw this and was thinking, 'Is that seriously a naked chick in the newspaper and no one gives a fuck about this?...HELL YEAH!' Its part of why I like Germany so much. Not because of the fact that she was naked, but seriously who gives a shit, ya know? Its a naked body, no big deal. Its how Germans are, and wish the US/women would be here instead of all prude and shit at times.

They straight don't give a fuck about the sexual dynamic there, which is awesome and completely different to the people here. This can allow you to escalate and go more direct sooner. However, Germans can read through your shit much easier. Example, the girl I was hanging out with last week was stating about a local promoter who removed her from his facebook (dude being catty/maybe upset). 'Are you a fucking girl or something?' They can read you/your actions much better than maybe an American girl will, or who just wont give a fuck/know better. I also like Germans as stated, because you can meet a girl and straight up talk politics with them and they can/WILL engage you back (not all of em, but usually a good amount). Met a girl from Berlin in DC months ago, (and another german guy at the time working for the press too) and asked her/him their thoughts about everything that was going on with the Euro and their thoughts on Merkel and had a serious discussion with em about it for like 30 minutes at the bar. Maybe that bores some people, but I thought that was cool as shit to do. Could almost NEVER do with an American girl otherwise, without shit going as dry as the Gobe desert and the girl just asking like shes part of the standard 'Mean Girls' crew or just 'Uh huh...uh huh...yeahhh.....yeah...no, yeah!....cooooooollll.' Ahhh, shoot me. Have a habit of running into Germans EVERYWHERE somehow, and its not something I mind at all.

Wanna go snowboard the German alps sometime in the next year or two, ASAP. Don't think it would be a bad language either to learn, seeing as basically Germany RUNS shit in Europe-plus does a BUNCH with energy which is the field I wanna get into.

I've been to germany a few times, it's a really nice and interesting country. However with germans themselves being found all over Europe you don't really have to visit their country to get your flag, I meet germans in every country I visit.

We're just looking for an honest answer as to why Germany is still unpopular. history has something to do with it. we can't just blame the girls for their average looks, it's deeper. Some girls look stunning, but the know their value at home, and are quite picky with guys.

True, the fact that many men died after 1945 and the women had to clean up most of the city and engage in physical labor has a lot to do with who German women are now. Look at old films from the pre-WWII era and you will see much more femininity in the women.

I grew up in Berlin from the early 1980s to the mid-90s and can attest that americanInEurope is pretty much spot-on with his analysis.

To give you a sense of this current generation (25-30): There were almost no bf/gf relationships in high school (kissing was rare and sex was unheard of). A few couples here and there perhaps, but nothing like you'd see in France. The folks here are heavily repressed.

You can watch German TV online to get a sense of the place. This show is about Germans leaving their own country... lol

In general, Germany is the most anglo of the continental EU countries.

The reason German probably does not get mentioned much here: There are better places and when you are coming from an Anglo country the slim differences simply do not make it worth the effort.
