Went to the local hostel where I randomly discovered that a friend from a previous hostel I visited last year and worked at ages ago was working at this hostel now. True, but I think phone number should be the first priority, and IG as last resort, IMO this way you can better realize who's more likely into meeting again, and who just wanted another IG follower among many.

To sum it up: you can use Instagram to do your work for you- make sure you have a dope profile with great pictures (also helps if you travel to cool places all the time like DN and Vinny), and implement some methods to get your follower count up to an impressive level (enough so that you have significantly more than your average thot), then it works as an easy DHV.

Even if you only have a short 5-minute interaction, girls will readily hand out their instagrams (definitely much more easily than their phone numbers as alluded to above), and will inevitably browse through your insta page. If you've got your page on lock, then girls will be impressed by your lifestyle, as well as your follower count, sort of like a soft version of fame-game. So essentially you end up outsourcing the work of DHV'ing and creating comfort (since they feel that they know you better after stalking through your profile) to your instagram profile. Thanks for that, it basically sums everything up. And I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that the girls know the other girls. Obviously if they are best friends there is an outskirt chance they will ask each other about me, but I think the advantages to IG over a # are worth the risk. Additionally, I'm here a month and if I have a 2 minute interaction with a girl chances are I won't remember what she looks like a week later so I'd just be going off her whatsapp profile picture.

Last night was a series of close calls but no close. I had a British girl in the bag but her Swedish friends were cuter so I was going for them. That definitely happens occasionally. I made a deviation at one point with the Polish girl in Brazil/Paraguay. I just have a burning desire to see many different places and who knows if the next one will be better that the awesome one I'm currently in. Next winter I will be doing a more spontaneous itinerary and not booking anything in advance. Maybe that'll change my perspective on travel.
