Long Island, New York - Data Sheet ?

I may be moving to Suffolk county late next year, was just wondering if there was any data on Long Island. It's a decently populated area but I couldn't find any info on the forums. Looking for: Best towns, best venues etc.

Thanks.

Long Island, New York - Data Sheet ?

Towns with downtowns near a train (LIRR) station tend to have the most "activity" on the Island.

Western Suffolk examples: Huntington Village, Babylon Village

Nassau Examples: Rockville Centre, [sure there are some others, heh]

If you stay local you'll basically be dealing with towny bars.

Otherwise LIRR into Manhattan for NYC fun.

Outside of partying/gaming, there are some hidden gems on LI for nature, exploration, marine life and boating, etc. Otherwise, strip malls.

I'm from Long Island so I can give you a few tips. You have to know what your advantages and disadvantages are. Also, you should explain why you are moving to long island. You may not be able to reap all the advantages.

Advantages

-The fact that NYC is very close(Without all the additional costs of living in NYC). The majority of your everyday items are far cheaper. I've met city folks talk about how much cheaper things are. The same pack of cigarettes that cost ~$15 will cost about ~$10.

-It takes advantage of the fact that it is NOT New York City. Certain services that would not be available in NYC is available here. Consider amusement parks like Adventureland and Splish splash(one of the best in the United States). It has some of the best vineyards in the United States. It has some of the best beaches in the world. A very strong sea culture. Things such as boating and fishing are big here. Probably one of the few areas in New York that isn't anti-gun ownership. In fact my neighbors are avid hunters. You could say that Long Island is better equipped for day dating than NYC.

Disadvantages

-I did say that it is cheaper than NYC. But those are the small things. There are expenses that are HUGE on long island. Renting can be expensive here. Actually, Living on the Island itself is expensive. A studio Apartment can easily be more than $1,200 on the low end. A room can cost between $550 to $900 depending on the neighborhood. Most of these situations are illegal dwellings. You will NEED a car to take advantage of living on long island.

-Going to the gym is a must. Long Island has a very strong Gym culture. It goes with the fact that we have a beach culture.

-Inverted Parabola of the SMV for women. There isn't much of a 1 to 10 scale here. I would say they are either hot or not. Money has a great impact on looks around here. If a girl is working class, she'll be much fatter. While a upper middle class chick is much hotter due to daddy paying the bills getting plastic surgery and going to the spa every weekend.

-Heavily segregated area. People are in enclaves divided by race and ethnic heritage. There some towns that are black neighborhoods, Jewish, Irish, Polish, German ect. I've asked latinos in the areas and they are divided by the towns they live even though they share the same language.

-If you look white(euro-heritage), you will do well around here. Other ethnicities will have a harder time. While benign by nature, white people are pretty racist around here. Which is a shame because Black people and Latinos are pretty friendly around here and open to some decent race jokes. I sometimes joke about being half black, but only from the waist down. The racism is not as obvious and open around here unless you lived here for a long enough time.

-People around here dull and dumb. A little ironic considering we have a chunk of money and some of the best public high schools in the united states. It also means it easy to sell shit to these people. Especially when you can leverage imagery.

-Traffic famously sucks, especially rush hour traffic. People also don't know how to drive. It is so bad we joke about it ourselves.

-People from here are psychotic, strange, sarcastic and cynical. People from Long Island find me to be friendliest person on the Island. People who are not from around here from me to be scary as shit. That should tell you a lot about long islanders.

-Cultural supremacy is important in the area. It isn't something outspoken or said as I have mentioned. Keep in mind we have Muslims, Jews and Christians here and different ethnicities. I can look at someone tell if they grew up around here or not. White person who is not from here stick out like a sore thumb. My first thought about them is outsider. But it is much harder to distinguish people by race if they grew up around here. I remember hitting on chicks in spanish. I didn't even realize they some of them were latinas.

-Winters suck here, spring and autumn are mediocre and the summer is the best. There are some things to do in the winter, but the activities go down sharply. Likewise, women react according to the weather itself. Gaming in the winter is much harder. Use this time to bulk like crazy in the gym. That is what most people do anyways. In the spring and autumn, women are open to game. In the summer, I'll have women eye fucking me and gaming me. That is when our sea culture shows its face. Most young 18 to 24 year olds leave for college and are not likely on Island. They like to go away for college. The dating pool of young poon will diminish out of the summer season unless you go for high school chicks.

-English is very strange to understand around here. I'm a native and I sometimes have a hard time understanding people here. As a rule of thumb, nouns can be turned into verbs. Spoken English is economized and compact and simplistic. Expect to do a little mental gymnastics.

Contrast of New York City and Long Island

Long Islanders culture is derives from New York culture. Someone who is not from around here would think our cultures are very similar. Indeed, there are similarities between the two. This is because Long Islanders people are actually people who migrated from New York city, especially Brooklyn and Queens.

However, many differences do exist between them due to the differences between Suburban culture and Urban culture. Yet when one meets the other, there is something not quite right. I look like a bastardized New Yorker to a New Yorker and a New Yorker looks like a bastardized Long Islander in my eyes. We actually have different accents but someone else will tell you that Long Islanders have a New York accent. By the way, if you tell a Long Islander that they have an accent, they will be confused. We don't think we have an accent. It is YOU that has the accent.

Commonality is food. We make Italian Food and bagels just like they do in the city. Although overall, we tend to have a strong fish culinary and surprisingly a strong Barbecue culture.

While we do have Latinos, every person on long island hates Mexicans. The Latino population is mostly from Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Ecuador and Colombia. 5% of the Latino population is Mexican which is 5% too much. All Long Islanders have an unholy alliance to have the Mexican population reduced to 0%. If you are Mexican, expect to be shot and hanged. Ironically, Mexicanas are the prettiest Latinas on the island.

Every Long Islander needs to make friends with an Irish guy and an Italian Guy. The Irish are more rogue and adventurous by nature but the Italians are far more friendly and upbeat and open. I'm Irish and quite honestly I like the Italians more than the Irish. Plus better food. I always imagined myself marrying an Italian women from around here. But the Irish are still superior due to the fact that Italians are "almost" white. That last line was a meant to be a joke.

New York City has a culture that distinctly defines it. I would say Long Island has a mixed culture. It has a combination New York culture(rude, greedy hustlers), Southern Culture(racist, conservative), California culture(self-centered, retarded).

The ethnicities we attract are quite different from New York City. If New York attracts slavic people of Russian and Ukrainian Origin, we tend to attract polish people. Among the Portuguese speaking world, Astoria Queens will attract the people Brazil while Long Island tends to get people from Portugal. Among Latinos, we rarely attract Spaniards, Argentinians, Venezuelans, Cubans and Mexicans. We tend to get central americans, some Colombians(who tend to start businesses here) and people from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. As far as Asians, there has been a growth in Chinese, Koreans and Indians/Pakistanis.

A major difference between New York City and Long Island is political machines. New York City runs a democratic political machine. Long Island Runs a Republican political machine. People on long island are anti-abortion, pro-gun rights, fairly conservative. There Churches and Temples tend to be within 1 mile of each other.

My main account which had data sheets, suggestions, info, etc was permanently banned for making a small, not so politically correct remark. There isn't a single shred of info on Long Island (I'm talking non-bronx/queens) on this entire forum so I thought it would be helpful for all interested to gather information on it.

I am from Long Island but I wasn't into game or anything like that when I lived there so I never checked out the nightlife too much....my family lives there and that's why I want to move back. I'm well aware of culture there....just wondering what the best towns really are.

Long Island, New York - Data Sheet ?

PolymathGuru pretty much hit the nail on the head. I've been to Long Island enough times in the past and also have a lot of experience with the 18-24 demographic that is mentioned since a lot of Long Islanders go to school throughout upstate NY. I find them to be the most intolerant, vapid, and insular people I've come across and it's always an uphill battle to form any kind of relationship, let alone run game. The few cool ones I've known on a personal level are outside of New York entirely, doing great things for themselves, or both.

I live in NYC and have been to LI a few times, only to visit some family. Honestly, on the weekends if you can help it, GTFO of LI and get your ass to NYC. There's no good reason to waste time in LI or the surroundings when a pussy heaven like NYC is so close by. The diversity alone should be a huge argument in favor of NYC. No matter the race/type/age range, you can find it easily in NYC.

Pussy ain't for pussies...
