Every player that I know is impeccably dressed. Seems like clothes make the man.

But what happens when you are low on funds and have to roll out with fake labels and old clothes? Ever had to run game with a less than stellar wardrobe? What were your results?

Beliefs are more powerful than facts.

OP, I'd honestly provide a serious response if this didn't feel like a massive game-denialist troll job.

Your clothes can still be clean. Your shoes shined. Your shirt tucked in. A good haircut.

Fake labels don't matter. Just does it look nice.

Use Vintage stores and sites like Overstock for cheap clothes. Buy a ton of cheap fashion t shirts and just make that your style for the time being.

A cool wardrobe becomes increasingly more important as you get older. A lack of fashion sense or style when you are <20 years old is forgivable - at 30, quite the opposite. In the US, you can go out to a college/university pub in a wrinkled shirt with holes, ill-fitting cargo shorts, and a backwards cap, and still easily take home a cute girl - even if you are aesthetically average otherwise. I know, because I did this myself.

I don't know your financial situation or the type of venues/girls you like, however, I would guess that your aren't in true poverty if you are friends with well-to-do players, can afford to go out, and have enough leisure time to pursue casual sex. That being said, here are some general pointers if you legitimately cannot afford a clothing upgrade:

-Make sure the clothes you do have are clean and smell fresh.
-Make sure you keep up with personal hygiene, shaving, and/or beard trimming.
-Make sure your body is fit. If you are flat broke, there are many ways to exercise/build muscle without a gym or equipment.

Spend money on the shoes/boots. The rest is acessory. You can go to Zara and buy some fitted shirts and trousers for less than 30€ a piece. Get a nice perfum and a leather belt and your Ok to go.

I don't know anything about how to dress and I still think I do decently enough for myself.

Though I'm in college so that's probably part of it. Maybe one day next semester I'll just start wearing a suit every day and see if that helps. If not it'd at least be fun.

Either way there are a lot of areas online that will help you figure out fashion. It's never something I've really gotten down but it's only a google search and some time spent away.

Depends on how good looking you are and if you're jacked. If you have those things going for you , you getting some leeway.

Once rolled with fisto in a mall and he gamed a girl while wearing a wrinkled t shirt and wearing one flip flop because his big ass feet broke the other one in the taxi.

I'll bite.

First of all, what makes you think that good looking clothes need to cost a lot of money?

Television? Adds?

There are plenty of clothes that are or great quality, and are cheap. And, there is a great second hand clothing market (thrift shops, flea market, Ebay...), where you can buy great stuff for a mere faction of the price. Even watches (genuine ones, of course).

For example, I am not that rich yet (invested al my savings into several project, and I reinvest almost everything I get). And regardless, I have a wardrobe (E. Armani, Canali, Levi's...) and watches (both Tissot, all genuine, no fakes) that make me look and feel like fucking Irenicus Gates.

And guess what how much I spent, including alterations?

$400 approximately. If I bought everything new, I would have to pay $10.000+ at least.

Again, I am a player (and by God, I am proud of that) and I am dressed the way I am. I made an effort (like most of us) and so should you, instead of whining here, like a little bitch. By calling you that, I meant no disrespect. All I want from you is to take action, and be the best you can be.

Now get to work.

100% like the responses on this thread.

Fuck designer label clothes in your case, hell even my custom tailored suits aren't label, I rocked one yesterday to a company party and got a ton of compliments at the party and afterparty at bars after.

I never buy retail price, always get it discounted (I work retail weekends as a hobby).

Blank slim cut v neck tees are your best friends along with a nice pear of jeans.

LINUX is right, if you're jacked you've got some leeway, and you'll look great with the v necks and jeans.

You can dress sharp for less, that's the smart way to do things.

Once you get money you can buy nicer things if you'd like but I'd rather spend that on other stuff I want besides clothing.

Like Irenicus said it's possible to get really good on deals on quality clothes off of ebay or thrift stores. Even going to cheaper stores like H&M and Old Navy can get you stuff that looks ok, you can get decent looking shirts for less than $10 on sale and jeans for $40 or less.

The most expensive dress shirt I own probably cost around $40 new.

My most expensive wardrobe item is probably a pair of New Balance sneakers. Around $60. I buy a new set about every year or so (as I actually do a lot of pavement-pounding going to places where girls are.)

I do alright for myself.

The "Apt. 9" line from Kohl's has some pretty snazzy looking "night out" men's clothes for not a lot of money.

I like Kohls a lot, actually. PM me if you want and I'll send you a suggestion for an entire "game night out" wardrobe that looks good and should set you back under $100. If you don't have that retailer where you are, you should be able to find something similar locally. Or order online.

My advice would be this - dress congruently to your lifestyle but better than your peers

If you're a student for example:
- AVOID wearing your baggy cargo pants, flip flops and ratty t-shirts
- AVOID wearing a velvet cocktail blazer when you go out if you live in your parents' basement
- DO wear good fitting, ironed, clean clothing + well-maintained shoes
- DO buy quality items that you will get good use out of (jeans, sneakers, button-downs etc)

Yes I've done it.

Try it yourself first, come back here, and then we can talk.
