I don't think it was self-sabotage so much as I wanted to see how much I could "just be myself" with this girl.

I actually grew to like her a lot more than I would have thought at the first meeting.

It's not really a myth it's more a simplification of your average males psyche.

You get laid last night, and fuck her brains out in the morning too. Then you go about your day with that confidence. You don't extrude neediness or insecurity and guess what; females like that. You have more of a player's "take it or leave it" attitude which we all try to emulate and call it "abundance mentality".

If a girl starts bringing up politics I just tell her I'm not political and end the discussion right there by conveying I have no opinions to share.

Always keep things fun and casual. You can talk about deep stuff but not shitty opinion based things that will divide you. Things like childhood memories and family and things like that are better topics and also gets a girl feeling more bonded to you because she is learning about you and your past and vice versa.
