No logistics. Renting a place or buying a car?

No logistics. Renting a place or buying a car?

I'm in my late 20's. Left my job, sold my car, broke up with my girlfriend, been with her since my early 20's. Traveled to South East Asia(it was way too overrated) and came back. For the last few months I wasn't certain if I stay with the gf, so I stayed at my parents place, didn't look for a place to rent or a job.

I feel like I'm stuck, I can find a decent job but it will take me some time. I have no logistics, so I try to figure out what should be my next move.

When I plan to meet some chick I have to take a bus or a taxi and have no place to bang.

I have money for may be 3 months of rent+utilities+food or I can stay at my current place and buy a cheap car, so at least I will be able to meet the women from other towns and bang in the car like a dirty nomad.
But even when I find a job I won't be able to pay for both the rent and the car.

I can wait with the rent until I find a job, but it's too annoying to stay at my current place. The only time I rented a place, was with with my gf for a short period of time and then back to my parents. I feel like I need to get out ASAP.

Get a place. Get any job.

Stop moping and man up.

That's the plan, but I have second thoughts because of the transportation issue.
Some people advice me to find a job first then to rent, but I think I should do the opposite.

Definitely get your place first. That way, it gives you more flexibility You can either get them to come over, or go to them. You can even rent a car if there's 1 chick you want to meet up. No Place = no Bang vs Own Place = Few Bangs. I know what I would do!

That's a problem. I'm curious, why not?

Many places will require you to have a job before they even rent to you. I would first get a car and stay living at home until you find a job. If you dislike living there so much ( I know I would too ) then it should be good motivation for getting a job.

If you're not into working, see if you can do something else that will make you productive like joining the military, police, or become an apprentice for a type of trade like plumbing, electrician, carpentry, etc.

Maybe go back to college and apply for free financial assistance that will pay for it along with your living expenses. That's what I did, along with working, and it paid off in the long run. The other paths I mentioned are just as good, and there are many others.

Car

Where there is a will there is a way.

Do this back home and I've been staying at a place in LA as we speak that doesn't allow overnight guests but I've made it work out.

Not to mention a nice cheap Honda or Toyota will pay dividends in the long run. Though I would save up for a nicer looking Nissan.

It depends on the particulars of the area.

If you're in a large urban area with good public transit, then the place first is a no-brainer.

If you're in the suburbs, then the car needs to take priority. You won't be getting a job or girls if you have no way to get to them.

If you live in the suburbs with poor logistics but have a car, meeting girls in the city and pulling them to their own places isn't particularly difficult if you 're smooth and plan right. I've done it plenty - in fact it's my preferred option. You absolutely can get laid, and laid a goodly amount, even with poor or no logistics.

Many girls actually seem to be more comfortable bringing me home than me taking them home.

You're obviously stuck in a rut with no plan. In all likelihood you will have to get another job eventually, and you sound somewhat miserable right now, so I would get a decent job ASAP. That is, of course, if you're uninterested in other options such as the military, going back to school, etc. I would buy a cheap used car, as that will help your logistics more at the moment game-wise. Plus, if you are in a North American suburb, having a car will make your life infinitely more convenient. Looking further down the road you should be building a path that will allow you to live in an area with good logistics (aka not with parents) and own a car.

By the way I live in an urban area, not in North America. I plan to relocate to Eastern Europe or Russia eventually.

Get some skills that trade at a high hourly rate, become self-employed in that area or work for a company and build up a side/consulting business.

Do not spend money on a place without income.

This is basic economics. When you get an income don't immediately start raising your expenses.

I can't stay at my current place anymore. Like I said before, I have no logisitics at all and I'm single again.

Given that a cheap car will cost lest than a months rent and is your passport to either a job out of the local area or girls out of the local area, it's a no brainer.

Option B is get a van and live out the back of it till you get sorted. If you can pass for early twenties, have a guitar and know three chords this will pull you more tail than a crummy bachelor pad as well as providing transport. Consider it.
