@WTF

I do martial arts so when I do have time to check out Muay Thai in Thailand I might consider moving out there. Living expenses will obviously be cheaper and the move will only buy off time until China decides to take over the Pacific in the wake of a weakened America. Maybe my career will allow me to live there and ditch America if things get bad. I obviously am planning for the future.

So yesterday I had a promising lead with somebody that can help me advance in my career. I still have to play the numbers game since I'm not the type to sit in my hands. You're never down and out unless you decide you quit and don't want to leave your house.

@fmman I have money in REITs since I don't have the time or money to be a landlord. Throw in the rising tide of socialism and that's why I'm on the fence about owning land. But like anything in investments diversify your assets. Who knows too if I do hit it big I might purchase land in the remote parts of the US.

I have one F2F interview today (broke my streak of about 4 months), 1 phone call interview, and just got help from someone yesterday with career advice. Also got a reply from a SDR role I applied to.

Somewhere down the line I might consider moving to Thailand.

I'm worried about another credit boom bust combined with rising interest rates, in the UK the rates are still at 0.75%, 2008 emergency levels 11 years later. So on one hand I feel the need to buy property to hedge inflation I also worry about falling prices. They are already are falling in SE England, but this is probably due to all the political panic about a no deal brexit in order to stop a no deal brexit happening. The stock market I'm not in apart from my pensions. I think 2019 will be a good year in the USA despite the recent sell offs

This is the thread where I'll announce when I finally leave the food/retail industry.

So for 7 years I've been in this miserable industry and have been trying to get out. Trust me I'm frustrated. It's a great thing I don't track how many hours I wasted for the past few weeks let alone months because if I did the math I probably would be even madder. The only silver lining I will acknowledge is I'm still young and full of piss. If I were to job hunt 10 years from now I wouldn't be as lucky. This is what I've been doing for the past weeks:

* Applying to jobs in various industries. So far nothing has been hitting. I've done a variety of applications from using warm connections via LinkedIn to spam messaging. NADA. ZERO.
* Got an interview days ago and today I found out I got declined. The interviewer pretty much was surprised that I couldn't find a job with my credentials. I'm planning out a trip so when this door closed I opened another one.
* Reached out to some people to get references and got declined for certain reasons.
* Attended a webinar to try my luck with the sales industry. I'm iffy on this route but won't close the door completely on this one. I'll put it this way, when I send a follow up thank you note I expect a response back. If people are too important to take care of a prospective buyer then I'm not getting into more debt to job hunt for even more months. Job hunting sucks!!!!!

Since it's Friday it's too late for me to ask some potential employers questions so I'm planning out what to do next week.

I have a strong belief that I can get out of my crappy situation and at the longer end of my journey I will be location independent and running my own ship.

Just got my TSA Gloabl Entry approved. Makes it a lot faster to get in and out of the United States through Customs. Helpful for when you come back to visit friends or family.

Congrats

Thank you Ben, that's really it at the end of the day. Keep putting yourself out there and refining!

Preface: Today almost got rear ended by some jackass. Fucking pisses me off just to type this. People don't pay attention when they drive I never play with my phone when I drive. We'll see how things go but I may or may not be leaving Illinois within the next couple of months.

* One of the guys off the forum will be calling me up in a couple days so I'm going to have to prepare for that.
* Three workforce training programs have contacted me in the past few days. One of them wants me to meet up for an interview. From the sound of it all I need to do is be nice and knowledgeable and they'll train me to work in the oil fields.
* This week I will have to call up oil companies and ask them what kind of labor they need/prefer.

Pretty sweet week and we're not even at the end!

Been working hard to get some new clients. Lots of meetings, only one has actually paid up cash.

Small project too - $1000 deposit, $1000 on completion. I have to ramp this up!

I’m writing this after visiting a service provider for the oil fields. I don’t want to make this a boring read by ranting for a page along with cursing at God so I tried to make it funny. Fun fact I wore my Black Rifle Coffee Company sweatshirt so that article definitely increased my odds of getting accepted. In a couple weeks my pay will quadruple, you know I’m ecstatic. I obviously know what I’m signing up for but there’s several reasons why this post is on the location dependent thread. I’m not leaving Illinois at the moment but good shouldn’t be the enemy of perfect. So just to recap my background:

I spent 7 LONG MISERABLE years in the food/retail industry. I will say without a shadow of a doubt that for nearly a decade my life has sucked and I have had to fail multiple times to reach this point. Abusive parents, naive grandparents, graduating from a degree that supposedly guarantees employment, former professors refusing to be used as professional references, etc. I even got rejected from a non profit I wanted to volunteer at lol! I’ve even been told point blank from a hiring manager as well as a career advisor along the lines of my experience is high school level work and “not a real career”. I laughed when they told me that because it’s true.

Over the years I have failed at transitioning into other industries. Just to name a couple failures one person promised to teach me how to make money on the internet but only renege his agreement. Today I can confidently say I have turned the page. I am only human so if there was one silver lining of this years long job search it would be know your strengths and put yourself out there to gain employment. In the past few months I applied for sales, oil, and [secret] jobs across multiple state lines. YOU WILL NEED TOUGH SKIN. I am grateful for leaving this shit industry I will provide some select retarded asswipe soundbites for your entertainment that I’ve heard over the years:

“The food industry is awesome” --said nobody ever

“Climate change is real! I read the government studies!” “Obama is the first black President!” --Self hating white liberal that drank the CNN koolaid

“Fracking is bad for the environment but you do you.” --Loser who owes 100K in student loans for an acting degree

“We know you left us at $12.00/hour we’ll hire you back at $11.50.” - Hiring fag who makes significantly less than me now as well is a living joke at one of my former employers

With all that being said I want to thank the following:
Wi30 for giving me sales career advice
Graft for giving me sales career advice. We have pretty similiar career paths, would love to meet him one day. His sales datasheet is a must read and guys like WallStreetPlayboys advocate sales for high pay careers.
EndsExpect for giving me medical device information. His advice has saved me thousands of dollars no lie.
Scotian for PMing me information that has ultimately led to this moment. Very epic oil thread and you can add me to the list of people profiting off of it. I can’t say this enough scotian is a gem on this forum.

There are others that I have thanked privately I am overwhelmed with joy. If I missed anyone I’ll apologize in advance. I got a lot of work to do for the next few hours. The icing on the cake is I will finally, yes FINALLY address my dating life with a higher bankroll and months of downtime to game.

To repeat my signature:

"For the folks who stay ignorant and hating and not improving their situation during these Trump years, it will be bleak and cold once the good times stop."

The working class (especially the folks in retail) are going to be pissed when robots and other cost cutting measures cut their jobs. Socialism will be on the rise. Turn your life around, make it better, or be prepared to be eaten!

FUCK YEAH!!!

Got a sweet gig in a website doing college work for lazy american and chinese students. Pays 5-12 bucks per page. I´ve been doing it for about 2-5 hours per day and have gotten 600 bucks in the past two weeks.

I think that as a side gig might be usefull. After saving up about 5-10k, living and working through it in Thailand or a cheap place like that would be a piece of cake.

As of today, I am officially a published author!
OK it is just a 20 page short story on Kindle for 99cents, but it is a start!

I have been writing fiction for 2 or so years now but didn't have the courage to sell it or learn how to market it.

A lot of my writing was naturally becoming more red pill, so I've sort of decided I want to go down the red pill path- write fiction for a red pill audience. I plan to write 7 or 8 short stories for now and put them on Kindle.

Well, wrote one over the last few weeks, edited and put it up there. It has just been approved and is now live on the store.

As I said, it is depicting red pill themes. I don't want to self promote but If anyone is interested, PM me

Congrats!

Writing is a hard career. My blog failed and I know one guy who I used to work with that can't sell his book and is working minimum wage for a grocery store. You just keep marching and trying since like anything else in life you eventually hit something and then you reap the rewards.

In addition to joining the oil industry which quadrupled my income off the bat I'm reinvesting my money into learning e-commerce. I think I can make a huge ROI in this industry after spending so many god damn years in the food industry. I'm still young and once I figure out how much is enough I'll either retire or devote more time to humanitarian causes (no, saving refugees doesn't count). I will party a bit but I don't do drugs or am interested in fucking hundreds of women. 50-80 is more than enough and from there I'll settle down with a family oriented woman.

Fun fact one of my buddies who I love to death admitted he's stupid for not reinvesting his money even though he makes 80K+ in the oil fields. You don't want to be like my buddy. Hopefully I will make some important connections in the oil industry and we all can make our own tight knit groups.

My last day at my current job is Tuesday. I could be that guy and not show up but not doing that. As far as I know my service provider is paying me for doing online training from the comfort of my home. Doesn't get any better than that. [Image: smile.gif]

All my hiring paperwork for my job is complete. I really hit the gas pedal on that you know I'm enthusiastic for turning my life around. On the side I'm still planning out work independent income. Did some research on products I'm going to sell as well as people I have to reach out.

I feel like working remote is a step in the right direction, but while you do it definitely work on your own projects (whether it's an affiliate site, an app, a marketing agency).

I'm not perfect but I've been trying to ignore the politics section of the forum. Too much annoying whining and drama mongering.

I'm currently going through Killface's posts and reverse engineering what he has done. Maybe he's embellishing but I have worked with people that have accomplished significantly more than he did but they won't tell their secrets. In one of his posts I'm on the first stage he suggested: Go into high income industry and gather up money. Once I accumulate enough money it's just a matter of time of socking away money into ventures and once the revenues start pouring in contemplate quitting my job and running my own ship. I still might move to North Dakota next year and I'm well aware my experience in the oil industry will greatly help me in getting a job in another state.

I start my oil job next week, yesterday was my last FUCKING day as a grunt in the retail/food industry. Just off the bat I have quadrupled my income.

I'm currently going through online training and all that jazz. Everything about this job sounds like a James Bond mission impossible plot. I go to orientation and get my badge tomorrow, Tuesday is when the turnaround starts. I could be wrong on this but it looks like I'm the night crew and that pisses me off. I talked to Scotian days ago and got my car tuned up. I want to give oil a try but in a perfect world my online projects would be firing and I want money through that. I'll be commuting a lot more so I downloaded apps to play audio books.

I do 6 days 10 hours (6x10) so I can't visit this forum too often. Hopefully I make it out in one piece.

Will be working remote again starting March 25.

I've been working with a company on a remote rate, I spend time on site to solidify relationships and get some new requirements/needs out of them. I've been ready to return since January, but I got back into a routine and kepts things rolling. Decided to make the move, simply told them I would be working remote as of March 25th in an email. They didn't seem to push back. Like many things you have to set the tone and have the balls, since I'm independent and not an employee its not for me to 'ask'.

Feeling lucky to do this again. Good luck to all you guys.

I'm a freelance writer, mainly. Have a few solid clients that keep work very steady.

Been abroad for two years. The pay is enough to sustain a lower middle class existence in the USA. In most developing countries, it's like being rich and I can save/invest at least $20,000 a year while eating out, traveling, and taking Uber places. That, and you pay almost nothing in income tax (just 15% self employment), further sweetening the deal.

Being lower middle class in Eastern Europe can give you the life that being upper middle class in most of the USA can give you.

I probably work between 25-35 hours a week.

My chief concern is that even though I'm saving a lot of money straight out of school (and no debts), it's tough to see how I can translate this into a higher paying role as life gets more serious further down the line.

Transitioned into oil industry. Currently making 4x more than what I made in the food industry. Even then I'm still looking for a better job since I work the graveyard shift.
I plan to pay down debt and sock money away into investments like stocks.
I have downtime at my job to read books, listen to podcasts, and research business ideas.
If I spend 3 years at my current expenditures and earning levels I will have my own business and shape my own future.
