Regarding nexting, I don't delete their numbers or take any overt blocking action. I wouldn't have added them on facebook anyway so that's not an issue.

I simply put a mark next to her name in my phone indicating a girl's status, positive or negative. I'm not going to define my system specifically, but I'd rather know it's some chick who's a flake that's talking to me than some random ass number I'm not going to recognize or remember, especially since I tend to forget girls' names after a month or two.

Then sometime when I'm bored I can hit them up later. You never know. I've gotten girls a year after they blew me off the first time because circumstances changed.

I've been using soft nexts a lot lately. First I try to meet up with the girl ASAP because I assume she doesn't have much of an attention span. If it doesn't happen I reduce the attention considerably and talk with her about once a week with an attitude similar to what HankMoody describes. If she flakes or I still can't get her out I remove her number from my phone and save it in a file on my computer. I check that file periodically (when I'm removing several numbers from my phone) and follow up with girls that I haven't spoken to in 1 to 3 months.

I get a lot of texts from girls that I stopped texting just like HankMoody said he does.

Most of the girls I text after a few months are still hard to meet up with but in some cases their behavior changes drastically. They probably had something else in their life or another guy that they had been focused on. Or their interest grows because I'm not chasing them like most guys do.

This has worked for me a few times. The important thing is to realize these girls already have a history of flaky behavior so don't put much time into them. Most girls won't change but some will. My theory is that this method gives you twice the results with half the effort versus constantly following up with flaky girls.
