You're welcome.

And stop trying to reassure people that have no input on your life whatsoever. You can't please everyone, so don't bother. Focus on pleasing your future family and on being a good woman that your husband will be proud of.

A couple of other things I noticed:

You state that: "My stepmother in particular doesn't like the idea of me as a stay-at-home wife because her last husband died suddenly, and the only thing that kept her afloat until she met my dad was her cleaning business."

I think this is more of an issue of not having adequate life insurance. They should have set something up in advance so that when one person passes away, the other spouse isn't left in the red.

You sound young. And if that's the case, it's all the more important for your husband to sign up for life insurance. I have it and I'm not even married.

You also state this: "My dad doesn't believe that there are really any members of generation Y that could adequately support two people on one income (though my boyfriend is wonderful and recently started working 11 hours 6 days a week)."

This is a real issue and it doesn't get talked about enough. These aren't the days where you can buy a house with a job flipping burgers anymore. I think many newlyweds have two working couples instead of one because they don't have a choice.

If this is what you wanna do, find someone who can help you design a lifestyle budget. I use Learnvest, myself. Doing this now will help you immensely in the long run.

Good luck.

OP, how much do you weigh?

Not sure what that has to do with anything but I'm small for my height i'd think, somewhere between 110 and 125lbs last time I checked. There's no scale here so the only time I hear my weight is when I visit the doctor, lol.

This is a male only club? Who let you in? Rules people

Welcome I suppose. Let's see what we can throw your way advice wise.

Encourage your family to support you in your choices, as in what you want for you life, rather then they do. If you let them know that this is what makes you happy and that it's your calling, it might give them some insight into why you want to do it.

If you have the ability to be a stay at home mother and wife, take advantage, because it's a rare opportunity these days with the economy the way it is. You can always make a career, but you have a limited window to enjoy having kids. Me and my wife will both have to work.

Ask your folks how happy the career women they know are.

One thing to consider if you wanted to make money, would be starting a family business. It would allow you to make some money on the side and get your future kids involved with it - important for building character, increasing social and communication skills, and a series of lessons in the real world.

(Btw, Me and my wife are about to have our first kid. Don't wait on that. ) Edit. My wife is almost your age. 19 about to turn 20 next month.

Our families want what's best for us. The sooner they realize that this is best for you, the sooner they will back you. When you know you are right and your lifestyle choice and future are, don't back down for any reason.

Godspeed lass.

OP if you are not a troll at least post a picture or something to verify yourself with your face cut off and a placard that reads "I am Carrie on RVF". Otherwise we all know this is a great April Fool's joke being run by some SJW.

This thread is like four seasons of Prison Break. I can't keep up with all the twists and turns.

You know I didn't get the reference then but I watched Prison Break recently. Holy shit. The 3rd and 4th seasons are pure cluster fucks of twists and turns which make 0 sense. I only hate-watched season 4 to be honest. What a garbage show (besides season 1).
