I need some suggestions for men's shoes/boots. I want something leather and with a goodyear welt, so they can last 10 years if I do my part and take care of them. The wolverine 1000 mile and iron rangers look pretty good, but do you guys have any suggestions? I am tired of buying new shoes every year or two. I want to drop 300 and get a pair that last forever.

What kind of accessories are you guys rocking these days?

I've been trying to let my clothes do the talking, but I've been rocking a silver watch on one arm and rocking a tiger's eye bracelet on the other:

It's a good juxtaposition to the watch, and if girls ask about it, I make up some spiritual bullshit story about a shaman in Nepal giving it to me.

Can't wait for it to start getting warmer up here so I can start rocking these guys again without wrecking them in the snow, salt and puddles

Custom made necklace with a certain precious gem in the middle. Family heirloom of sorts. Works like a charm.

Get questions about it all the time. Would highly recommend having one made that suits your tastes.

Don't worry about matching a pocket square with anything on your person. In my opinion, they should be a subtle statement, something that grabs a bit of attention and does not look like it came in a 'box set' of shirt, tie and square.

Overcoats do not get pocket squares.

I get mine from a Japanese woman who hand rolls Kimono silk into pocket squares. Hands down, the most complimented items I own. $3000 suit, and I still get 1-5 compliments a night on my $60 pocket square. Also, women love Japan, and telling them about it being hand rolled Kimono silk from a 400 year old Kyoto mill gets them every time.

Only one that caught my eye so far. I like the contrast of the washed out jeans vs. the clean look up top, it's striking.

Gotta give OP shit - that opening post is pure Southern boy. No where else I know in the nation, probably the world is in love with that sort of look no matter the event. Southern girls love it though from my experience.

It can get expensive once you get into it, relatively speaking. After experiencing how I get treated in the made-to-measure navy suit I bought last year, I now want to get another one in medium grey so I can wear suits more often each week.

I'm curious about the kimono-cloth pocket squares you mention and will PM you to ask for more details.

Yeah the up front cost of quality suiting is high, but the potential longevity brings the cost over time down to H&M levels.

The thing about quality suits and shoes is that if you wear them every day, they get a wear pattern on them. If they are hung and cedar tree'd they will last many years. I know we all have to start somewhere, and thats why I suggest getting at least two mid range suits at the beginning, rather than one good one. Wait for sales, buy navy and dark grey, and if in the budget a good blazer too. Switch things up a bit, but give the suits time to air out (always buy wool or natural blends).

Shoes too. Even more so. A good leather shoe softens up over the day and absorbs a lot of moisture. Cedar shoe trees absorb this, stretch out the soft leather and allow it to re set in a couple of days. A good pair of shoes will only need re soling every 2-3 years, and amazing leather soles only cost me $110.

Yeah, drop me a PM about the Kimono silk pocket squares. Hands down the best accessories for conversation I own.

That thread was one of the reasons I joined the forum.

I made slow progress with my college budget for those first years but I am happy with it. I have a navy suit and a grey suit, some tailored shirts, and a decent pocket square/tie collection. I can walk into an office building downtown with confidence.

I need to work on my shoe game. I also want to get the hang of wearing braces.

My casual style could use some work though.

Meermin shoes have full grain leather, a goodyear welt and look really good: https://www.meermin.es/

I own multiple pairs but I haven't got them long enough to comment on their durability.

Don't expect the same level of quality as in shoes that retail for 2 or 3 times more, but at this price point I think Meermin is nearly unbeatable.

When I'm wearing my suit I will sometimes experiment if I see a hotel or restaurant having a private party I'll walk up to the door, smirk at the doorkeeper, and then walk right in. I haven't been stopped once. I haven't tried it at an exclusive nightclub yet, however, but I've heard it will often work in that situation also.

Supposedly there was an experiment that studied groups of people waiting at "Don't Walk" signals at a city street intersection. The academics had a guy in casual clothes jaywalk and a guy in a fitted suit jaywalk. They found that people were four times more likely to follow the jaywalker in the suit.

I think if you're doing it right, you'll get complimented on your style by other men just as much as by other women. At least, I do. So, it goes along with upping your general lifestyle, not that you're making pursuit of women as your main goal.

A man is not going to appreciate his buddy in a tight fitted crew or v-neck. He'll never notice at all. A woman latches onto that. Your buddy is going to appreciate a cool pattern on a tie but a chick will only notice just a tie. Women will notice the overall persona of how a person dresses but your boys will notice one or two specific details such as a nice watch or the style of dress.

It's more of a perception thing. Clothing for a day is either sexy or classy. There's overlap but it's always one of those attributes are more noticeable over the other. Though in general good style will get props from both but for different reasons.

Also depends on the type of girl you want to pick up.

For me, jeans + leather jacket works better for college party girls and suits work better for young professional girls who want a career.

Shouldn't you just look good period.

Some girls may dig your style and some won't.

I dress different from the herd.

The main thing is I feel comfortable in my clothes and in my skin.

Guys have any good ideas of buying some nice spring time boots? Any good places online?

I've been rocking boot shoes constantly for 6 years, but they don't give me that edge I don't think

I think it differs greatly from location to location, and there's not a one size fits all answer to this. I've found that girls don't respond to dressing well as much as they should, at least where I'm from. I get far more IOI's in a muscle shirt or fitted v-neck than business casual. If you're under 30 I wouldn't bother rocking a suit or anything like that in Australia because 18-25 year old girls just want to see your body.

Lifting weights for health, or to get chicks?

Improving social skills, reading books, learning a language for intellectual advancement or to get chicks?

Lots of overlap. As players - we must improve in all aspects, like all men, while keeping the objective of pussy in mind.

Much agreement there. Pussy should be the flower on the wayside for all endeavors.

Dressing nice will just bring all the girls to you on the way just like nectar for a bee or lights for a moth.

I stress style a lot because I try to be that light, and woman get drawn in the by a persona and demeanor behind that light. Mainly because that light is higher purpose.
