Downloaded No Label II a couple days ago. Second Migos mixtape on my phone now, along with Rich Nigga Timeline which I copped when it came out a year ago.

These three tracks are tight.

25 tracks though. Woah.

Not gonna lie, Pusha goes hard as hell. Haven't listened to too much of him outside of a few collabs.

And of course...

However, I'm a pretty avid listener of the QC/Migos/Atlanta Trap Crew. They dropped this shit today and it's been straight fire.I almost dislocated my shoulder...[Image: dodgy.gif]. I'm really impressed with Young Thug lately. He's been holding it down, despite taking a bunch lick from the press for his...indiscretions.

Downloaded 2015 albums from Apollo brown, Joey Badass, G-Eazy, Logic, Doppelgangaz, Pusha T, Oddisee and Czarface. Still looking for a few but I think there should be some good stuff in there. Already liking the G-Eazy album.

Problem.

He's an extremely underrated rapper that few know about. No albums but a lot of free mixtapes and features.

I've been into him for a couple years now. Definitely has a smooth and unique cool-guy party vibe.

Him and Iamsu! made a collab mixtape called Million Dollar Afro a couple years ago that is slept on hard but is full of party banger tracks.

Not a big fan of G-Eazy. Do you recommend his album though?

Also rewatched thief in the night and realized trouble is actually kind of flowing. Decided to download his mixtape "The empire." Will give it a listen and let you guys know what I think.

I don't think I'm going to buy albums anymore.

In my experience, this past year has been: Mixtapes >>> Albums

I'm not saying there haven't been any good albums this year, but I've undoubtedly been more into mixtapes than albums in the past 12 months. I'll buy an album and it'll fade away from my thoughts quick, whereas mixtapes will stick around and I'll play them over and over and over.

Plus I like to be cheap and save my money. Albums cost a good amount and mixtapes are free. Win win. The last album I bought was trash. That's money I can't get back.

To list just a fraction of good mixtapes that have been released in 2015:
Flockaveli 1.5
I Am Que
100% Juice
It's Better This Way
Beast Mode
56 Nights
Trapaveli Tre
Mollywood 3: Side A
Mollywood 3: Side B
The Iron Way
Blue Dream and Lean 2
Black Dollar
O's To Oscars

And that's just within this last year. I can't wait to see what 2016 is gonna look like.

Artists, I believe, have seen the benefits of being more mixtape-oriented. It builds a strong fanbase loyalty. Look at Future. His career was going nowhere until he stopped releasing whatever-albums and dropped three album-quality mixtapes. People appreciate that, and smart rappers are catching on to this.

Just my theory.

Speaking of good 2015 mixtapes, I started listening to Whip It yesterday. It was released on Thanksgiving.

Two new rappers. Makonnen looks like a chubby Jordan Peele. Him and Rich are without a doubt the two freshmen of the year. It's a good, short mixtape that surprised me. Eight tracks of no fillers. I'll be bumping this for a while. (No Label II was too overwhelming to be a go-to. 25 tracks, got damn. [Image: lol.gif])

It was released with mediocre feedback. But I wouldn't expect anything less. Party and fun-hip-hop, especially by freshmen rappers, can get a lot of panties in a knot. Too many hardcore Kendrick/J. Cole/90's fans who take music too seriously can't stand good, fun shit like this.

Those in this thread who I've talked with who are into the same shit as me (Future, Migos, Travis Scott, etc.), give it a listen.

I downloaded from LiveMixtapes. Mysteriously since its release, it's been removed from HNHH, DatPiff, etc. I could only find two sites that still had it. Weird. Cop it before it goes away, I guess.

Quite possible, but most of us are only commenting on Artist we know or specific genres within hiphop/rap. I think that's why most of us are commenting on a few topics while others get looked over. I mean I don't think i've ever listened to a scarface track. But fuck it can you suggest his best track and i'll check it out, let you know what I think?

Key! is a freshman rapper. I've heard him featured in a couple tracks. Released his debut(?) mixtape yesterday. I think it's great. I'll keep this on rotation and be looking out for him to go big.

He sounds like a mix between Travis Scott and Future with Que/Travis Scott/Mike WiLL-type beats.

You shouldn't be too surprised, Scarface has been rapping since before most of these young rappers being mentioned (and commenters) were even born. He is a firmly old school rapper without the pop sensibilities of a Snoop Dogg.

I'm not a huge Scarface fan but what I've heard from him has been dope. I digged his Emeritus album.

Drop some classic Scarface tracks in here if you want to put people on to him.

"Pass dat remix" with the weeknd is fucking flames! I like the record "Low life" (Weeknd + Future) more, but others don't seem to be feeling it that much.

@Goldhawk: Will definitely check out Key!
@The chef: Do you recommend that new Jeremih album? Not really a fan of his.

^^ Man he has flow that matches well with Drill music, but his voice just doesn't do it for me. I don't get the same feeling I do when someone like King Louie or Bibby spits. Their voice has this grittiness to them that makes the drill music that much darker.

Travis Scott(La flame) dropped two new tracks this past week. Bangers to me:

^^^Juicy always delivers alpha lyrics. It was a good year for him.

I'm waiting on Rubba Band Business 3 though.

Tomorrow we're getting a DJ Mustard X Travis Scott single called "Whole Lotta Lovin". I'm pumped.

What's everyone's opinion on DJ Mustard? I used to think he was bland and boring due to over-consistency and too much simplicity in his beats, but starting in 2015 I started to like them. He makes simple party beats. You can't listen to it desiring deep meaning and a complicated beat.

Any guy who has been to a party where Mustard was playing and says he hates Mustard beats is a homosexual. Mustard beats are like direct audible messages to thots to twerk and shake their titties.
