If you were rich...

I'm just waiting to win the lottery and then I'd become a professional blogger/science fiction author and focus the rest of my time on sports, music mixing, and partying. I'd probably get a few different pets and have someone to take care of them.

Cities:

NYC - good base, everything available, variety of women

Bangkok - Nightlife, food, travel hub

San Francisco - Nightlife is blugh but Vegas isn't too far away, and there's so much going on in the tech world that it would be a good place to be with large sums of money to invest

Hong Kong/Shanghai - Women, nightlife, travel hub, business opportunities.

In Europe, would only consider Berlin and London, though the women there are eh.

Miami would be a good timeshare to have but intellectually there's not enough going on to keep me stimulated.

If you were rich...

Great Thread

Here's my list, and the times of year I'd be in each place.

Cape Town, South Africa (20 Dec to 28 Feb)
Probably the most beautifull city in the world. Hot beaches, hotter girls. Great vibe and parties around Christmas/New Years. A white Christmas is overated. Snow is.... cold. Unless I'm skiing or snowboarding on it I'd rather avoid it. The white sands of Clifton Beach is where I'd spend my white Christmas, since my $10 Million apartment is here. Not really going to wade in to the CT debate too much, but if you can live with the income disparity (and really if you are an international playboy who actually travels outside his comfort zone you have to, by neccesity) you will probably like this place. It IS overpriced, but then you are a billionbaire...

Rio De Janeiro (March/April)
Have never been here so can't write too much. Sounds like the kind of place that would be a great challenge and would push you to hone your survival and gaming skills. Also a very scenic city, like CT. I think carnevale is in Feb so I guess I miss this. Oh well

Monaco (May/June and August)
This would be my base, and legal domicile, since they have the most civilized approach to personal taxation possible. I'm not American (I understand you guys have to pay tax so long as you keep American citizenship, even if you haven't physically been in the US for decades. Most of the world isn't like this); or French (French citizens can't avoid personal taxes by living in Monaco). The Grand Prix is usualy held in May so lots of high end parties, shmoozing with fellow global business tycoons, and of course the hot babes attracted to all of the above. Also, in the event I ever require certain services only available outside of the worlds legal systems Monaco is well known for it's Russian mobsters.

London (July and September)
All you guys who say chicks in London are all ugly must live in some top secret city reserved for super-models or something. London is probably the biggest magnet on the plannet for various ambitious types, men and women, including beatiful women hoping for fame, fortune or a rich man. It is a truly international city, more so even than NYC as far as I'm concerned. It's the International Playboy's true home city. Also, my bankers are based here so it only seems right to spend a couple of months in the city.

New York City (October/November)
Vies with London as the capital of the world. In my experience girls are friendlier and more down to earth here than many places I've been. OK, maybe not supermodel 10's, but decent 7's definitely. Don't know if anybody agree's or has any theories, but I've done much better in New York than most places I've been to, and I'm not spectacularly rich (in real life, not this fantacy) or particulary good looking. I'm developing this theory that girls in very big ultra-competitive cities are more open because they see so many other girls as good or better looking than them every day. Kinda keeps their ego's in check. Also, my international law firm has it's HQ here so I have to visit at least once a year.

Briish Virgin Islands/Whistler, Canada (1 Dec to 19 December)
Depending on my mood, either rent a villa somewhere in the BVI's for some sun and relaxation, or an early season skiing vacation in an awesome and down to earth ski resort, before looping back to Cape Town for a white (sandy beach) Christmas.

Because I want to get there already knowing things. And I might have clients in those countries and I want to be able to talk to them. ALso, Classes are for everyone!!! Private classes with top professors aren't for everyone for sure. I would pick the headmaster of some good university in that language. Not a average Jane. Plus, the language time also would be a ettiquete/culture study, book recomendations...

The best way to learn things is to actually do them. My Spanish accelerated in a week of just being in the DR because I was hearing that shyt every day from everyone. After a while, certain things will stick.

The same thing happened when I went to Paris..all my secondary school French was forced to be re-engaged.

Immersion is the number one learning process for languages. But since you are rich, you can do as you wish...Chocolatina..

Do you guys consider LA to be a better place to live compared to other cities around the world with mediterranean lifestyle/weather?

ie LA vs Barcelona vs Cannes vs Beirut vs etc

LA seems to have a lot more to offer than the other cities (all sports, great weather, hot women... I would think any north american will be much more comfortable in LA)

Depends what you care about.

If you want to see guys play baseball, then LA.

If you want a beautiful city where you don't have to drive then Barcelona.

Well assuming we are talking about the rich areas of LA, since in this fantasy we are balling out of control, then LA is probably just as beautiful (minus the traffic)... if you live in a beautiful home on the hills; you have an amazing view, everyday is a sunny day, you got the beach, the palm trees, the mountains, etc etc... additionally, you got the nba, nfl, mlb, nhl, you have all the restaurants, you have the american lifestyle in general.

I know a lot of the american lifestyle isn't really respected, but if you're wealthy it really is a beautiful life lol.

But, I've never been to Barcelona so I can't really compare...

This: "beautiful home on the hills; you have an amazing view, everyday is a sunny day, you got the beach, the palm trees, the mountains, etc etc"

Describes Barcelona to a T as well.

"additionally, you got the nba, nfl, mlb, nhl, you have all the restaurants, you have the american lifestyle in general."

News just in. LA doesn't have a football team.

Restaurants in Barcelona destroy LA restaurants side by side.

Again, if you want girls slapping their cell phones constantly or you want to watch guys in tight pants play baseball, LA is the choice.

If you want all night partying, freedom, smoking etc, then Barcelona is the choice.

My daily schedule would include a competition by super hot models for the right to blow me while I work on the phone and computer. Perhaps dancing, doing other sexual acts, etc. to amuse me while I work on shit. Also, probably constant travel.

Well then, I'll have to check out Barcelona! lol

But what I meant was, for an american or Canadian, being wealthy in LA I would assume would be better because they get everything they've been raised around (sports, lifestyle, etc).

ps I highly doubt Barcelona's weather beats LA's! Every single day in LA (literally) is 100% sunny, 25-30 degrees. Absolutely perfect. Every single day. Is barcelona like that too? (serious question)

Some people enjoy change and different cultures. Some love watching American sports on TV. If you are in the latter camp, then LA with out a doubt.

However, if you are in Barcelona, I am sure you can find an "American Bar" that will have sports on the tube that you can watch till your heart is content.

Depends what you mean by "beats".

Barcelona is a little colder in winter and warmer in summer.

More rain. More variety.

If you were rich...

Reviving this thread. Maybe some have changed their choices/opinions now (travelled more? experienced a city again and changed your mind?)

NYC
No explanation needed. If you are rich, there is no place like New York City in the world to live in. It has more to offer than anywhere else; food, nightlife, women, 4 seasons, etc etc etc, you can go on for days

Paris
Just like NYC but this would be my base in Europe. For a rich man to base himself in Europe, he would most likely be choosing between the 2 best cities there, Paris or London. And for me, London just doesn't do anything for me. Paris on the other hand is glorious in all aspects just like NYC.

Los Angeles / Miami
If you are rich, you need to have a place in one of these 2 no matter what! Beautiful weather, sexy women (probably the best in the country), a lot to offer... and you would not have to worry about safety because you would be living in an area like Beverly Hills/Miami Beach/Palm Beach/Coconut Grove. This is a tough choice between the two though... LA has the year round warm weather, the beautiful scenery of mountains and forests all around you, and in general just a solid city to live in. Miami on the other hand has the turquoise crystal clear water, warm beaches, sexy latinas, strong sun and tropical lifestyle. Can't choose between the two at the moment [Image: tongue.gif]

Rio de Janeiro / Florianopolos / Honolulu
Gotta have a winter estate! Brazil is a must for the women, the scenery, the weather and the beaches; again tough choice between 2 great cities for different reasons. I also threw in Honolulu to make it even harder to choose, but having a place in Hawaii would be amazing. Don't know if it would be amazing enough to say no to a place in Brazil though.

Hvar
This would be my base for Eastern Europe. It is packed with girls from all over europe, especially eastern europe, during the summer. This place is getting more popular every year, celebrities are even beginning to head over there for vacation. It is stunning. The beaches, the weather, the water, the scenery, and the eastern european women. Can't go wrong!

Toronto
Gotta rep my city!

If you were rich...

1. Ibiza: Wow. Friendliest, hottest, most fun girls from all over the world.
2. South Beach: Although the Delano might be better than an actual condo
3. Barcelona: Haven't been but hear it's heaven.
4. Las Vegas: A residence at the Wynn or Encore would be phenomenal (if they have them available).
5. London or NYC: Need to get my finance on...

If you were rich...

I would have to rotate 4 spots

January - March

South Beach, Miami

April - June

Bangkok, Thailand OR Tokyo, Japan

Cant decide here. Need to hit up both to make final decision.

July - September

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

October - December

Medellin, Colombia

Kind of feel like I need a European base but then I cant see myself parting with any of my other cities. Maybe I could cut my Asian base and add Paris or Barcelona.....

Why Rio during july-sept? Isn't it at its best during dec-feb?

Also, replacing Medellin for Paris/Barcelona would make better sense in my opinion. But then again, I'm not so big on Colombia.

Hot as fucking BALLS in Rio during dec-feb.

The women of Medellin are hard to beat. Some of the best looking / sexiest women on the planet imo. Great weather!

Was just in Barcelona last week. Hit Quimet & Quimet. De facto drinking/smoking outside, amazing city for walking & cycling, good mix of people from all over Europe, architecture kills LA. It's a very livable city, especially if you have a bit of money.

The art scene is very weak, especially compared to a city like LA, which may be the best in the US. This is a big problem in Europe in general. And people are weirder and funnier in LA, that's for sure.. social life is more interesting.
