LOL. That's sounds like something Fujiwara or Takumi would probably do. Tacomas (tacos) are hard to find at good prices here. Lots of Mexicans like buying them and reselling them in Mexico for even more money. Old school dudes like them for versatility and their durability so as a result the market is fucked up for them. I see ones over 10 years old still being sold for 10-12K+ all the time.

My first truck was a black B4000 Mazda V6 LE. I wrecked it unfortunately. I still feel awful about that. I loved that truck to death.

Pickup trucks are sick!

Here are just a few of the things I've done in my truck in the past 2 weeks:

1. Took a girl stargazing. She brought pillows and blankets, and we laid in the truck bed watching the night sky
2. Transported 2 kegs and a grill to a friends bachelor party
3. Sat on the tailgate and crushed beers with my boys on a sunny Sunday afternoon
4. Transported my dirt bike to and from the trailhead.

This weekend I am taking a girl on some 4x4 trails. It is her first time going off roading.

Fuck yeah.

I don't drive a truck. I would if I had a reason (boat, job, etc).

Yes, I love the look of trucks. Dodge Ram, F-150, love em. Not enough to spend that kinda dough on a depreciating inefficient asset tho.

Maybe someday, listen to Bob Seger and go off-roading in my truck.
Maybe drag a spaceship around.
Maybe haul some horses around.
Take a hot lil babe out to a field with some muscadine wine and let her use that little pull-out step ladder.

No doubt a guy looks manlier in or next to his truck than car ==> Still gotta approach tho bro

Well I got my first truck, when I was three
Drove a hundred thousand miles on my knees
Hauled marbles and rocks, and thought twice before
I hauled a Barbie Doll bed for the girl next door
She tried to pay me with a kiss I began to understand
There's just something women like about a Pickup Man

When I turned sixteen, I saved a few hundred bucks
My first car was a Pickup Truck
I was cruisin' the town and the first girl I seen
Was Bobbie Jo Gentry, the homecoming queen
She flagged me down and climbed up in the cab, and said
"I never knew you were a Pickup Man!"

You can set my truck on fire, and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe DeVille
I've got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There's just something women like about a Pickup Man

Most Friday nights I can be found
In the bed of my truck on an old chaise lounge
Backed into my spot at the drive-in show
You know a cargo light gives off a romantic glow
I never have to wait in line at the popcorn stand
'Cause there's something women like about a Pickup Man

You can set my truck on fire, and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe DeVille
I've got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There's just something women like about a Pickup Man

A bucket of rust, or a brand new machine
Once around the block and you'll know what I mean

You can set my truck on fire, and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe DeVille
I've got an eight-foot bed that never has to be made

The Magnum engines on 2nd gen RAMs were shitty and put me off Dodge forever. Plenum gasket blows on every single one and is an expensive repair. Plus those fuckers like to ping constantly. Only Dodge I'll touch is one with a Cummins diesel.

I've only ever owned a car once and I wasn't into it - and even then I also owned a 1-ton Dodge RAM van at the same time to haul people and tow shit. I'm a full-size SUV kind of guy honestly. I've contemplated buy a pickup recently but realize I have little to no use for one. I rather the interior cargo space and seating capacity than a bed which I rarely have a use for. I need towing and interior space.

I am in a band and need to haul 5+ people comfortably on sometimes long trips while towing a 6x12 with 1000 lbs. of gear in it. I also own a 28" boat that I haul around.

I like to "have it all" when it comes to my vehicle. I drive a late model GMC Yukon Denali AWD. Its powerful, roomy, luxurious, and sharp looking. My ride has helped me pick up before.

Before this Denali I had another Denali, previous body style. Before that I had a Chevy Tahoe. I'm all about the full size SUV.

Yeah I've had a truck but it's been turned into a douchebag tool for bro gnars.

Thankfully that trend has pretty much passed.

You'll see some decent ones with lifts occasionally. I actually thing bagged dualies are sick.

Unfortunately I have a "eco" sedan now because I do a fuck ton of driving.

Jacked up trucks are a way of life around here....sort of the "1970s Camaro" of life. I have a F250, but its for work. I don't worry about the Mossy Oak culture.

Man + Pick up truck = Masculine (Alpha) man

????

Something about that formula doesn't make sense. Let's try again.

Beta man + Pick up truck = Masculine (Alpha) man

Still doesn't make sense.

But it's a great utility vehicle for guys that do manual labor.

I've driven all types of different trucks for work. I liked the silverado the best out of all of them. Good lines on it, rode well, and never had a problem pulling other trucks out of the mud on a jobsite.

Like the oilboys/rig pigs trucks are essential tools of the logging trade. Like any other expensive vehicle they are relative pussy magnets.

However, they also sort of pigeon hole you into where you can live. You need the space to park and store it, I moved into a downtown city and still had my truck from northern canada and it was a constant bitch to try not to scrape it on parking garages, get it into city sized parking spots or even fit it into some lanes. I got rid of it eventually and I was reminded of the price of it. You can get a really nice car for the same price as a pickup truck...that has the same pussy attraction.

You can however, be lazy as fuck in terms of maintenance on a pickup truck that you use to drive around town and maybe fishing once in a while...its also big enough inside that its easy to do the maintenance yourself.

Last @scotian...those electronic shifter sensors on the dodge. That is unbelievable that they still get screwed up when covered with mud. I had Ram 1500 lease for a job in 1999 and same thing, one set of muddy ruts and the shifter would go crazy and the sensor would need to be cleaned out with a shovel and then some puddles.

Pickup trucks are great for cold pickup. Even more so in cities.

I used to have a nice RAM crew cab, and when we traveled for work, me and my boys would set up shop on the tailgate for breakfast and lunch in the middle of parking garages.

We got opened by the girls more often than not. Plus, we looked like a UN meeting, so women had no idea what to make of us, just that we were having more fun on a normal day than anybody else.

F250, Nissan mini, Ford Ranger, Mazda(basically a Ranger). All had truck caps with racks. I grew up with International Scouts because of my dad. Have driven all sorts of trucks. I miss having a truck and will again someday when my lifestyle will fit it.

There's actually tons of money to be made in exporting old pickups that you can get for nothing here if you know how to navigate the paperwork and the process and have a connection over there to sell them.

Seems like certain countries like certain trucks. In my experience the mexicans doing this like rangers, not sure why but everyone loves exporting old ford rangers. I spend a lot of time in Jamaica and Jamaica is definately Tacomas or just the plain old toyota pickups that were around before they were called toyotas.

For anyone who has connections in mexico or jamaica you could make a killing doing this.

You arne't kidding about where you live. In my area most neighborhoods wont allow you to park class b trucks or any truck that has commercial writing, logos, magnets, etc on them.

My ex's dad bought one of those lincoln pickups decked out probably set him back 70k and his neighborhood wouldn't let him park it in his own driveway because it was a class b vehicle. Meanwhile he has neighbors parking rusted old conversion vans on the street which is fine according to association rules but he can't park his 70k lincoln truck which looks stunning in his own driveway.

Speaking of pickups I got a piece of shit 1990 Chevy K1500 plow truck sitting in my street right now that my association is probably gonna be up my ass for anyday now. Trying to sell it. Anyone in the midwest looking for a plow truck or mud truck lemme know lol.

My dad just picked up another one of these Silverado High Countries. The machine is a dream and the interior is on par with a Benz.

[Image: 2015-chevrolet-silverado-2500hd-high-cou...86x603.jpg]

I had one of these for a while in my late teens to early 20's. 1984 Ford F150 4x4. It was a terrible winter truck due to the shitty wiring, and the fuel mileage was brutal even in 2 x 4. But I loved the truck all the same, I inherited it from my grandfather. Banged my girl on the bench seat first day out.

I have been considering a truck again for work. I dont need one until I do, then I need one badly. Unfortunately I would need a one tonne some of the time so I would be tempted to buy that. I would need a truck 15% of the time and the tonnage about 3% so maybe renting would be better and just import a Holden Ute.

Bumping this thread.

I fucking love pick-up trucks. Given that my family is Mexican, and my father has bought many trucks in his days, I have always been spoiled with a truck in my teens. I had my first job at 16 and my dad gave me a 2000 Blue Dodge Ram 1500 just because he had like three trucks and had just bought a new one himself.

Here was mying:

I worked at Wendy's at 16 and I remember girls there asking me "when are you going to take me for a ride in your truck." Same thing in high school. I would take it everywhere. The only downside is that it sucked up a shit ton of gas. The Mexican girls would say when they saw me "Damn, you're my new boyfriend" because of the truck. I couldn't make this shit up. This was around the time I was living in Texas in the Dallas area, and it wasn't even one of the latest models.

I found Texas to be truck obsessed, especially in the small towns. Like someone mentioned, pretty much a status symbol. Growing up, if you had a nice truck you, were boss with the ladies, especially among Mexicans in Texas.

Once I came to Chicago, it went downhill from there. People in Chicago don't care for trucks much. They find it weird.

I'm saving up now for a new Chevy Silverado 1500 or 2500. Something more or less like this:

[Image: 2015-Chevrolet-Silverado-1500-Crew-Cab-side1.jpg]

I like it with a crew cab and a short box. I never liked the long box, unless I had to haul something. I need to stop spending my money traveling though if I want to buy one.

As a younger man I was all about Ford pickups.

As an older guy I'm firmly in the van camp. I still like the aesthetics of pick-up trucks but I think their utility is a little over-rated unless you really put them to work.

I think SUVs are over-rated, they are basically better looking minivans.

I bought a truck for a side business, 2005 Chevy 3500. I want to get an inch or two more on the hitch for the trailer.

Does this require lifting it or leveling? I'll end up asking a buddy, just haven't had the convo yet. And I know one of you hicks will have all the answers.

- Cutting/Hauling/Stacking firewood. Every summer for years.
- Moving motorcycles/dirtbikes around. Hitching up a trailer and moving my apartment in one trip.
- Being able to get under the vehicle and work on something without needing a jack and jack stands.
- Hauling plywood/2x4's/etc from the local hardware store to build stuff at my house.
- Impromptu random field keggers. Having to drive back and forth to pick people up whose cars can't make it to clearing.
- Parked off the runway of a small (but busy) local airfield. Dropped tailgate. Watched shooting starts and landing planes into the wee hours of the morning. Made out with my high school sweet heart.
- During storms/accidents, towing cars out of ditches.
- Having people rear end end me, getting a little annoyed that my hitch gets scratched, while their entire front end is caved in.
- Went camping with a bikini model I met. No tent, just some blankets/pillows in the bed of the truck. Bounced from camp-site to camp-site around this lake for 5 days. Not a care in the world. Just the summer heat, firewood, lots of booze, and zero condoms. Skinny dipped in the lake to clean ourselves up. It's a long lasting memory, banging her in 4 foot deep water while watching minnows swim around and nip at my feet. Should be a mastercard commercial.
- Road trips and rest stops. Sleeping in the bed, tying a hammock off to the hitch, 'discreetly' banging while knowing everyone can see the cab rocking back and forth.

Some of the best memories of my life were made possible by my truck.

Sure the gas mileage sucks (I get around 14 mpg), but the utility of a truck is unquestionable and I can survive accidents that would without doubt kill someone in a small sedan/sports car. By the way, if you are going to get a truck, make sure you get a bench seat. A nice center console can be useful but nothing tops a cute girl saddled up next to you in the bench seat as you cruise down old back country roads. It comes in handy for other things as well, giggity.

I don't get the truck hate some guys have, seems to me it's like a skinny guy talking shit about weightlifting.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit
