He is a moron but if you like the guest he generally lets them speak. I listen to maybe 1 in 30 episodes.
This is my one requirement for an interviewer. A good contrast would be Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert when they had their shows back-to-back on Comedy Central. Politics and ideologies aside, Jon would at least let his guests do most of the talking and was very good about not interrupting. Colbert, while part of his schtick, would CONSTANTLY interrupt, which would get really annoying with some of his guests that had some very interesting things to say.

Rogan's not dumb -- he's just unread in many things, which can be just as annoying.
But I give him points for curiosity.

He's excellent at what he does, interviewing and keeping a podcast flowing and interesting. He doesn't strike as an intellectual or a person that bothers thinking about problems.
Do I fault him for fence sitting? No. The timing is just not right to come out and reveal your power level unless you are willing to risk everything. Like Roosh says, Rogan getting de-platformed would be something like a gamer-gate 2.0 moment that would piss off a lot of bros and intensify the culture wars.

Anyone who Eddie Bravo hands a black belt to I am going to respect and listen to, at least when it comes to fighting. Can’t say much about science, conspiracy theories, or his interview style, as I don’t listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast (or podcasts in general, as I prefer audiobooks). But when it comes to combat sports, Rogan knows his shit.

Joe is a solid interviewer. His biggest shortcoming for your repeat listener is that he is an intellectual chameleon and he adapts/conforms to his guest. So you get the idea that he really doesn't believe in much outside of marijuana and jiu jitsu and people being nice. I don't respect that intellectually, but I respect Joe's game in regards to keeping his career moving forward and being able to navigate Hollywood without being too much of a whore while banking huge sums.
When it comes to comedians having podcasts, it seems there are two varieties.
1. Comedians who want an outlet to talk about their interests or serious thoughts who aren't really funny people down to their core. They have a stage persona and have worked hard to be successful on-stage. You could listen to one of their pods for 90 minutes and laugh once, maybe. In fact, it seems like their podcast is a haven away from the pressure to be funny and entertain people. This is where I would put Joe.
2. Guys who are truly funny to their cores who can't help but make you laugh by virtue of breathing. Nick DiPaolo, Joey Diaz, Bill Burr. They get serious but there is no 5 minute period without a couple punchlines.
In general, I think comedians and podcasts have been mostly disappointing. They have to save all their ammo for what really gets them paid. Comedy podcasts have been a side gig for promotion mostly. Being funny is always refreshing, but hearing their same opinions over and over again is not.

Ok theres that, but I saw a Jordan Peterson suggested clip the other day and once I saw Joe Rogan on the thumbnail I just couldnt bring myself to push play. I knew it would make me angry, few have that effect. Im surprised Peterson could put up with him.
Sounds like you have some work to do if simply looking at a random podcaster on the internet has that big of an effect on your emotional state.
Nice deflection there, guess anger is a strong word, more like irritation. I just find his general bone headedness grating. Like when you have an annoying acquaintance in your social circle, if you are going to a meet up knowing they will be there, its deflating. Joe Rogan is that annoying acquantance.

Eddie Bravo should stick to fighting, another dull lightbulb on the christmas tree of podcasts.

They'll either ostracize him or wake the F up once they see enough evidence... and he's trying to spread that evidence one crumb at a time so it doesn't shock them. (also, I have a feeling his "loser pals" aren't the ones that'll ostracize him, it'll be the sponsors and gate keepers)

The good thing for Rogan (as someone mentioned earlier in the thread) is no one had ever heard of Onnit or any of his other sponsors, so the majority of their customers may come as a direct result of his podcast, pulling out would be idiotic and suicidal.

Like I said, his Sponsor are not globocorp. Have you listened to the first ten minutes of every podcast, it’s usually gambling, fitness products, supplements, maybe a tech SaaS. Non of these businesses would pull out over this shit. Joe Rogan is centrist and is absolutely no danger. People like him. I know plenty of shitlibs that like him. He never even used the word genocide to describe it.
He has his own podcast - can’t be fired
Sponsors with red pill friendly leanings - won’t leave him
MMA gigs - Trump kickstarted that fucker into the mainstream
Comedy shows - he sells out bigly.

All that Fear Factor money makes this a lot less worrying for Rogan. He could spend the rest of his life smoking weed in a flotation tank and playing with his children if he wanted.

Rogan is a Hollywood Liberal. Will this be the linchpin issue for him?
No. At least I doubt it. My prediction is that he won't speak honestly about S Africa. Sure, you'll get glimpses...comments, maybe even some conversation about it. He may even get a w̶a̶c̶k̶o̶ ̶a̶l̶t̶-̶R̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶g̶u̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶ ̶k̶n̶o̶w̶s̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶ normal non-Liberal who's honest about the facts talk about it for a bit.
But one white farmer every five days (part of one of his tweets) is not enough for him to delve into the issue.
Just go watch the Larry Sharpe interview to see how he handles conservative talking points. You'll see how he handles cognitive dissonance brought on by honesty. I have to warn you, it's painful to hear. It was the worst interview I've ever seen him do.
You can wade through and ignore a lot by interrupting and questioning every other word.

Yeah, this thread is going in the Not-Perfect-So-Completely-Unacceptable direction, just like the Peterson thread.
It is hard to know what people want sometimes, like, all these great, free, long form discussions with people from all walks of life and often at the top of their fields with a funny host who asks every-man questions.
But unless he seems like he would be my best friend, or the savior of the world, it is all completely a waste of time.
Don't get it.

I personally don't like Joe Rogan. For one I'm black and not American so I can't relate to him on a personal level. But most of all because he's an intellectual dwarf. I do however acknowledge that he's a great interviewer probably one of the quickest I've ever seen at building rapport. It's also wrong to judge him through an intellectual filter because he never claimed to.be one as far as I know.
I see Joe Rogan as sort of a cool older brother for lower class white guys under age 35. Someone like Jordan Peterson is too intellectual for them, mainstream music has become hip hop instead of rock, media has become too leftist, they're not as religiously evangelical as their parents and grandparents and they are falling behind academically, financially and socially. Hard to find any other contemporary famous figures they can relate to.
In a changing America he offers these guys another shot at being the Alphas they thought they would become, their "birthright" so to speak.
Through his whole persona he gives them hope. They can't become doctors, lawyers, investment bankers or engineers. But they can be like Joe Rogan. A bad ass, strong, non-soy, cool, socially liberal yet somewhat conservative white guy with lower class sensibilities they can relate to.
Giving young men hope can only be a good thing so I support his efforts.

Ok lads, yous are fans I am not, lets just agree to disagree.
I understand that he puts topics out there in the mainstream that otherwise wouldnt be discussed however the same can be said of Alex Jones, Jordan Peterson or Stefan Molyneux who in my opinion do it in a far more in depth way.
Rogan just has a bigger platform and a dumber audience in my view, so for me its like switching from reading novels to looking at a tabloid newspaper when I watch his show.
Him and Eddie Bravos interview with Alex Jones, all them two numbskulls did was steer it towards chemtrails, bigfoot and aliens, mainstream crap that Im well beyond as are many others who watch his show.
