Me and this girl have been getting closer lately, pretty sure she likes me: "it's the eyes chico they never lie". But this guy who's known her longer, and I'm sorta mates with, won't give us a second alone, whether he's doing this intentionally or not I don't know, and whether he likes her or not I'm not sure of either. It's obvious nothing is ever gonna happen either way, which makes it even more fucking annoying.

Think I'm just gonna step away from the whole situation, I refuse to get oneitis, not when there's a whole world of pussy out there! What I want to know is how do you lads deal with this kind of situation? Just so I know should it ever rear its ugly head in my life again?

If he's someone you can trust make it clear you are gunning for her and that you need space alone. If not try to engineer a situation that would allow you two to be alone. In that situation usually it's best to just stay cool calm and collected and the jealous guy eventually freaks out and fuck himself up sooner or later. Usually sooner cause he just can't deal with the pressure of the situation as he's affected emotionally too much. What happens is the girl notices you stay cool and he's reactive as fuck towards you. The more he wants to impress the girl the worse it comes across to her. And he probably wants it really bad so he overdoes it equally bad. So value shifts in your advantage and slowly but surely she loses respect for him. In short he's not cool anymore in her eyes.

It's subtle process but that's how it happens. It's more visible at house parties when few guys compete for the same girl. Almost every single one of them always want to see that overt "yes" from the girl so they try hard to game the girl up. Which of course kills them inside and mess up their confidence/state cause girls are fickle and tend to send mixed signals that guys take too seriously so they either give up or freak out. And then and at the end of that show when they are all confused and shit the last dick standing with the most patience and fun energy just rolls in and pulls.
