A young girl and her brother were brutally attacked in a park in Indianapolis, and video of the possibly racially motivated beating has gone viral after the perpetrators uploaded it to Facebook.

The disturbing video starts with a group of people running through a park toward a playground, then surrounding a young girl who was there with a much younger brother. By the time the camera person catches up the group already has the girl surrounded, and while the victim appears to explain something another girl from the group punches her in the face.

The victim then fell to the ground, yelling, “What did I do? What did I do?” while the assailant continues to throw punches.

As the victim pleads with her attacker to stop, another young man finally pulls off the attacker and the victim gathers her younger brother to leave the park. But as she leaves the camera person continues to follow, and the girl who originally attacks strikes again.

This time the victim’s younger brother, who appears to be somewhere around 5 or 6, tried to defend his sister by pushing away the attacker. But the attacker then turned her attention to the young boy, striking him and knocking him to the ground.

The group continued to mock the victim as she walked away and shouted an apology to her attackers.

The Indianapolis playground beating may have been racially motivated. The victim and her brother were white and the attackers appeared to be black. As the victim was asking why she was being attacked, one of the boys in the group appeared to answer, “You white, b***h.”

The video of the group attacking the girl and her young brother on the playground quickly went viral. It was uploaded to Liveleak, where it was viewed close to 100,000 times in just a few hours.

Media in Indianapolis also covered the attack, with Fox 59 reporting that police were already looking into the incident.

“The graphic video surfaced online on Saturday and someone in the video said the fight takes place at a near east side park. “IMPD tell us their forensic computer detectives are looking for reports on the video and they do have a copy.”

The video of the girl and her younger brother attacked in the Indianapolis park comes just days after another brutal viral video. In Brooklyn, a group of girls attacked another teen girl inside a McDonald’s, knocking the girl unconscious and then continuing to punch and kick her in the head.

Had this been white kids beating a black girl and her brother Obama would address the nation tonight. But other then the story spreading on social media its not getting any attention. (The video would be no more or less sickening if the racial roles were reversed, Its just the complete difference in which the media would portray it that confuses me)

There is a simple reason for why all these beatdown videos, in particular the racial ones, are going viral. The reason is that American society as a whole is becoming ever softer and more peaceful. The great majority of people never see violence of any kind in their day to day lives, it is extremely remote from them; this is increasingly the case even in less wealthy neighborhoods, with some exceptions here and there. As a result, people find the kind of casual violence they see in these videos shocking and fascinating and they don't know what to make of it.

This is exactly analogous to the omnipresence of anal sex in American pornography. The reason all these girls are getting fucked in the ass on film is not because this is what happens in real life, but precisely because it almost never happens in real life -- because what is, in fact, extremely rare in reality (whatever chatterers of various kinds might aver) exerts a pull and a fascination on the viewer.

In an older and different America, casual racial and ethnic violence of the kind depicted in this little video was entirely commonplace, particularly between kids of this age. In the tough neighborhoods of many decades ago -- New York's Lower East Side, or Jersey City, or many other places -- there would be ethnic gangs, the blacks, the Italians, the Jews, the Irish and others. They would stake their ground and if a kid of the wrong kind was in the wrong place at the wrong time, they would get their ass kicked as a matter of course, no questions asked. In black gang neighborhoods of the 80s and 90s you could get shot just for wearing the wrong color at the wrong place and time. No one would find any of this remarkable or surprising.

We have come so far from those times, for better and worse, that a little bit of casual racial violence -- a white girl getting beaten around by some young black bitches because she stumbled into a black park at the wrong time -- seems shocking and almost incomprehensible. This is why these videos are getting so much attention and causing so much hand-wringing.

Don't complain about police state if you want that stuff stopped.

I worked for the "police state" in California and it worked pretty well, although for violence it was far too lenient. On the other hand, a guy who had an non-violent affair with an underage teen girl could get 50 years-- idiotic.

Although it typically took until their ~5th violent felony when they were 22, the male peers of this little monster then got nice 15-25 year sentences and were locked up where they couldn't harass you on the streets.

In Sacramento you could walk the downtown in the middle of the night and for the most part count on zero punks confronting, bullying, or harassing you . They are in jail.

My extensive experience tells me that bully girl will not do any time for that beatdown, will continue to bully and ruin people's days unless she continues it after 18 and gets to the point of seriously injuring someone.

Even a MALE would get away with that. Serious male violence is much more prevalent. By the time her male equivalent proves himself a useless drag and is imprisoned a long time, believe me, you are SO happy you don't stop at a red light, look out your window and see his dull, greedy eyes, drunk, with a pistol pointed at you for a carjacking.

Those memories kind of stay with you.

If giving five-time violent losers long sentences means it's a police state, police away. As a counselor, it was my job to help these assholes, and I did the best I could at helping them see a better way of getting along with people using cooperation. Obviously, it's a tough task, but if I had a 1/100 success rate at turning someone around from violence, that actually pays my salary for most of my whole career. ( 40 years maintaining moron in prison at 40k/ yr = 1.6 Mill.)

But there are thousands of stupid ( violent criminals are very unlike glib TV villains), violent bullies out there and right now the only solution is to lock them up.

It's decades before earlier screening puts a vicious, already-broken 14 year old like this in a brainwash-style work camp and saves us money. The minority of outraged citizens demanding routine and frequent capital punishment are completely out of touch with political and legal reality and are irrelevant.

This is arguably the most overlooked cause of racism. It reminds me of the late 1960's to the mid 1990's. Crime rose rapidly in several cities such as Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, etc. The crime and violence rates among blacks in these areas was and still is ridiculous. There were many consequences to this behavior but some of the biggest ones includes cops racially profiling blacks along with whites and even some blacks (the more peaceful ones) growing wary of other blacks. It just makes things more tense.

You have some people who are simply bigoted or ignorant. However, there are people out who harbor certain prejudices because they've either seen or personally experienced things similar to what you see in this video. I would not be surprised at all if this girl and/or her brother become just a slight more xenophobic around blacks.

It's taboo to mention this kind of stuff though. If a black man speaks on this he's an uncle tom. If any other ethnicity brings it up then they are racist and have no place talking about it.

You forgot to mention that the peace is artificial and highly fragile because America is well- segregated. Whites and blacks may cross paths at work but they go to bed in different zip codes. I would guess that racial violence would increase tenfold if you remove that barrier.

I don't have to see any pay stubs to know that the girl attacking the girl and the child is low class. She has parents who suck and no moral compass beyond pleasing her pack of goons.

I definitely agree with that. But I think perception is more important than reality to a lot of white folks. And at this point, most white Americans simply don't even want to venture into black or hispanic neighborhoods out of fear of violence, rape, carjackings etc. I may have a warped view of things because I live in New England which is like segregation central.
