I would not marry a doctor. She will age very quickly unless she has one of the highly competitive "lifestyle" specialties like radiology or dermatology that have manageable hours and pay well.
Medicine is bad for your health. Working 16 hours and then being on call, putting in up to 100 hours a week, always under enormous stress and pressure...most female doctors I know in their mid to late 30s have bad skin and thick legs.

That's why almost 40% female doctors quit or go part-time within the first 10 years of their career.

The 'empowered, educated, smart' image of a doctor gives way to the brutal reality of working 65+ hours a week plus call. They burn their prime years looking at old naked people bitch about their health.
Most women with that much education did not work side-jobs in college, they aren't used to working over 12 hours every day.

It's well documented a large reason for the doctor shortage is women doctors work significantly less hours than their male peers, but med schools keep mandating 1/2 women students.

I have a question, not directly related though.

What about engineer women? Are they similar to doctors?

Yes. They are all similar in their biological limitations as well as their modern hamster rationalizations. Think of the cumulative effect this lack of full time medical providers has on society at large.

They are just usually ugly or nerdy and plain looking. Many wear jeans and sneakers all day long and that profession helps them maintain that look.

Female Architects? Some of them are quite hot for sure...

I can't find much fault with her height standard. She's not saying "Oh he has to be 6' or something, just as tall or taller than she is."

According to the OP, she says no to anyone shorter than her.

That's reasonable enough, no? I don't expect women to be attracted to guys half a head shorter (we're talking no heels here). In fact she's downright progressive for being willing to take a shot with guys of the same height.

Update -

Ran into her just recently. Looks are still holding up, more or less. Said she's found someone she "thinks she's going to marry."

Also mentioned she's going to Oktoberfest in Germany this year - but not with him, with friends (presumably all female). Oktoberfest, for a single 33-34 year old American female could only mean one thing:

One last cock (or two, or three...) before she puts the ring on it and becomes "faithful forever."

That poor bastard is about to become the last man in a 50 man gang bang, at least until the divorce in a few years. Hope he's drafted a good prenup.

Not necessarily. I had the luck of dating a PhD candidate in some biomedical engineering discipline. She was pretty attractive for an engineer. This was over 3 years ago. Though, she's sort of gotten fat these days. Girl needs to hit the gym.

I've known other scientists and engineers as well. The younger the better because as they get older they get a sort of jaded misery about them and are difficult to try and hold a conversation with. I guess academia really sucks the life out of people.

^that and they are not typically around a very active crowd. The older they get, the more likely they are surrounded by sedentary cat ladies.
