While I certainly welcome any views to the contrary, the best that I can tell from the article is that he did assault someone and that jail time for doing so is not absurd.
Whether it was a sex crime is debateable, but if a gay guy slapped my face with his penis as I slept, I'd wanna see him to time on a sex crime charge.
It's hard to know what the purpose of OP's post is without him personally providing his own accompanying commentary.

I'm guessing he wasn't top of his class.
I'm no legal expert, but perhaps if you are going to wack a sleeping person in the face with your dick, deliberately recording the evidence might be unwise.

@OP- I don't know what kind of reaction it is you're expecting from the membership here.
What this guy did is vulgar and inappropriate. No one here endorses this kind of thing.

I'm not sure if this should be punished by jail, but it's pretty disgusting and does deserve a harsh reprimand. What an idiot.

Guy should definately be punished. I'm not sure how UK treats "sex crimes" however if it's anything like the US it's a shame that someone who all be it something very stupid, immature and disrespectful doesn't deserve to be lumped in with a pedophile or rapist. I'm sure we've all done some stupid things which at the time were drunken stupidity but could have gone very badly.
