The crazy thing is women think they have it hard in the dating market. I was recently talking to a girl from China. I was asking her about the oversupply of men there and that it must make things easy for women. She said not really, because competition for a guy who is "the whole package" is still stiff. She says most of those surplus guys are undesirable and poor. I've heard similar sentiments echoed by American I know that have done online dating. They'll admit they get hit up by a lot of men, but to them 99% of those men are losers. Of course I'm sure many are just normal guys. But women are looking to land a big fish and I guess if their standards are set that high then few of the men in their dating pool will interest them. That's why the average man on Tinder will get few matches but a guy that's a 9 will get an unbelievable amount of matches way out of proportion to the average.
Women only compare themselves to men they consider desirable. They never consider the plight of the men they don't find attractive. This is true with careers too. You never hear a chick complaining that there aren't enough women in sanitation.
True.
I'd add that not only do they never consider the plight of men they don't find attractive, they have outright contempt for them.
For example, the whole "nice guys of OK Cupid" thing where they made fun of bitter nice guys. On the flip side, they absolutely loved the message of the Louis CK episode where the obese woman complained about guys not 'chasing after her'. In other words, socially awkward guy who desires relationship = bad, obese whale desires being put on a pedestal = you go girl!
Another example is the whole 'street harassment' nonsense. Dumpy women angry about poor minorities (many of whom seem to be homeless) who make benign comments as they walk by.
A third example was that SNL sketch bashing the 'mens rights' guy by presenting him as a wimpy virgin. Of course the women bashing him talked about meeting muscular guys or something. And of course they were all fat.
These are the same women who are attempting to flip the script and present "plus size" women as the most desirable by, among other things, shaming men for desiring fit women. Examples include the 'fit mom', the song 'All About That Bass' and basically every feminist website.
I'm not a Star Trek fan (nor do I dislike it), but as they keep trying to push that bullshit, I always think:
