Men of All Ages Want Women in Their Mid-20s, Study Says

As the title suggests, this study (and also a different OKCupid study) concludes that men of any age want a woman in her mid-20s, including men younger than their mid-20s. By contrast, women want a man the same age or a bit older than herself.

Did you/Time make a typo? I believe it should be "late teens," not mid-20s.

Did you miss the OKCupid study in which males of every age preferred women aged 20 (the lowest age offered as a selection)?

The blue pill, beta-as-fuck co-owner of OKCupid was horrified.

So this means a pretty 20-25 year old female(especially white and blonde) is literally the most valuable thing on the planet.

I was reading some of the comments on Dumbzebel.com for the same article: they claim men like young females because 'social construct' and that women aren't pickier than men. I suppose it comes from their personal experience of fatties routinely rejected by their alpha beau. as an aggregate women are on the supply side in the dating market as long as they look reasonably young but they have hard time admitting their own privileges.

The crazy thing is women think they have it hard in the dating market. I was recently talking to a girl from China. I was asking her about the oversupply of men there and that it must make things easy for women. She said not really, because competition for a guy who is "the whole package" is still stiff. She says most of those surplus guys are undesirable and poor. I've heard similar sentiments echoed by American I know that have done online dating. They'll admit they get hit up by a lot of men, but to them 99% of those men are losers. Of course I'm sure many are just normal guys. But women are looking to land a big fish and I guess if their standards are set that high then few of the men in their dating pool will interest them. That's why the average man on Tinder will get few matches but a guy that's a 9 will get an unbelievable amount of matches way out of proportion to the average.

I wonder if people are actually surprised by this? I feel like everyone knows this but just out of politeness/P.C. concerns does not mention it.

But seriously Feminists and Jezebels must know that this is the case, I think.

Does anyone believe they have so deluded themselves as to have been surprised by this?

Women only compare themselves to men they consider desirable. They never consider the plight of the men they don't find attractive. This is true with careers too. You never hear a chick complaining that there aren't enough women in sanitation.

True.

I'd add that not only do they never consider the plight of men they don't find attractive, they have outright contempt for them.

For example, the whole "nice guys of OK Cupid" thing where they made fun of bitter nice guys. On the flip side, they absolutely loved the message of the Louis CK episode where the obese woman complained about guys not 'chasing after her'. In other words, socially awkward guy who desires relationship = bad, obese whale desires being put on a pedestal = you go girl!

Another example is the whole 'street harassment' nonsense. Dumpy women angry about poor minorities (many of whom seem to be homeless) who make benign comments as they walk by.

A third example was that SNL sketch bashing the 'mens rights' guy by presenting him as a wimpy virgin. Of course the women bashing him talked about meeting muscular guys or something. And of course they were all fat.

These are the same women who are attempting to flip the script and present "plus size" women as the most desirable by, among other things, shaming men for desiring fit women. Examples include the 'fit mom', the song 'All About That Bass' and basically every feminist website.

I'm not a Star Trek fan (nor do I dislike it), but as they keep trying to push that bullshit, I always think:

They need to do a study on the delusional high expectations of fatties and unmarried old women.

Female attractiveness is related to fertility and genetic quality (ie beauty).

Here's a graph of female fertility and age.

Fertility peaks in the early to mid 20s. Then falls off gradually, starting in the late 20s. It falls off more rapidly in the mid 30s and early 40s. By mid 40s, a woman can't conceive.

That graph is a pretty good representation of:

a.) What age of women men find most attractive
b.) Why guys don't like older women

I do think that a woman who keeps her body tight will fall off less quickly than a fatty who gorges on fast food and beer. Remember that obesity is a marker of a more "mature" woman and thinness is a marker of youth.

The problem is that a lot of American women are letting themselves go, resulting in some of the highest obesity rates in the world. In this country, even a lot of younger girls have the plump bodies of older women.

Definitely. Where I live in Taiwan, something like 25% of kids are born to mixed marriages, i.e. the mother is from China or SEA (usually Vietnam). The guys here cannot get Taiwanese women to even look at them. What's quite ironic is that a fair number of those guys with Vietnamese wives are actually relatively wealthy (not real high rollers, but still own a huge house by Taiwanese standards, tons of land, and pull in at least the national median income or more with much lower living costs), it's just that making your stash from growing guavas or running a couple of printing shops is not sexy enough. So all these Taiwanese chicks move to Taipei where they're also not interested in the girly beta men grinding out a living in an office, and they're all chasing that 1% of high rollers. Subsequently, many of them end up perpetually single, which is a large part of Taiwan's abysmal total fertility rate and the upcoming demographic implosion. I suspect that the same is true in Japan, Korea and Singapore. Hypergamy seems to have been unleashed anywhere that postmodernity has. It's not just a Western thing.

When we talk about hypergamy, I often fail to disagree.

Some women want better men, but most wouldn't even know what to do with a better man.

If they look a certain way, they might get a shot, but then their insecurities and other flaws get exposed, and the better man drops them or they'll try to frame the better man as the problem and drop him to protect their egos.

Most can't get a better man at all, so they can set their standards to the moon, but they'll either end up alone or resent what they can get, which won't be better.

Never concern yourself with what women want; what they want, what they can get, and what they can keep are all different things. Most women are delusional, and their delusions contribute to their lack of mental stability; ultimately, they believe in things that just aren't so.

Perhaps increasing hypergamy in women is how humans avoid overpopulating?

Imagine the uproar if men were allowed to pick any age, and also answered honestly.

I'd bet most desirable age would fall somewhere around 16-19.

Feminists and neck bearded manginas would lose their shit.

Probably not because it said even guys in their early 20s preferred mid-20s. Come to think of it, when I was a teen a 24 year old woman was more attractive to me than a 16 year old. So I think there's something to this.

I think I have always found women in their early 20th the most attractive. Thin is you want an 18 urban old so you can put more babies in her... And get to enjoy more of her st a young age. Ideally you want a woman before she peaks physically.

Am I the only one to whom this looks like a giant opportunity?

If anyone could find a cheap way to extend that curve forward or maybe even reverse it for women past their "peak" would make out like a fuckin bandit!

This could be The Idea of the century!!

Anyone in on this?

At 30, fertility hasn't dropped that much from peak looking at the chart, plus most 30 year old women still get no shortage of attention. I think the wall is more like 36-40. That is when she starts to see an undeniable change in her curb appeal to men.

It would be great to see this graph superimposed with another one showing how attractive men find women within the same age range.

I would hypothesise that the curves would line up very closely.

For most of human history, women were hypergamous. It's nothing new for multiple women to share one partner.
