Someone once defined "burlesque" as women too old to make it as strippers. I think it's "women who can't sing, dance, or act; who have so little performing talent no one will let them on their stage unless they show their tits."

This photo essay shows what they look like when you take away the wig, the clip on hair extensions, the metric shit-ton of makeup, and other stage trickery. (Although some are still wearing a lot of makeup in their "before" picture, and I'd lean towards at least two wearing just different wigs for their "street look" shot)

I see naive guys get all wound up for burlesque shows, not able to connect the shabby, drab women carrying in bags full of costumes to the back room to build the two minute fantasy seen later on stage.

Yes, some of these women have long, attractive hair. And it sits in the trunk of their car in a wig bag between performances.

Trying to be as objective as possible. I would say that #4 looked the "best" in the reverse direction. Horrible in the burlesque and ok in the real photo. #6 overall was the "best", and the dude really creeped me out. Looking at the pictures two thoughts come to mind. First, these women live in a fantasy land where they pump up their desirability by manufacturing social value. Think about it, men PAY to see them. The other thought is that women should stop bitching about looks. If those women can take [that] and turn it into something far less horrifying, imagine what a normal woman can do if she just worked out regularly, eat wholesome food after she learned to cook and applied a modest amount of makeup with some decent clothes.

But more seriously, those women are butt-fucking ugly. What is even worse is that I wasn't sure if the last one was a tranny or just a really masculinized boomer age feminist woman.

That is just humbling when you think about it. Women have gotten so disgusting in America that you can't even always tell whether or not they are actually trannies. WTF.

The real takeaway is this:

1. Cool sliding feature. I will have to figure out how to do that.

2. Even heavy make-up can't make ugly women prettier. In several of the pics, they really didn't look all that different than before. Maybe this is due to their "shock" type of facial expressions. Even with make-up facial expressions like that will show off the wrinkles and lines in the face. But all that aside, they still didn't look any hotter than before in my opinion. I wouldn't claim that either of them gained even a point on the bang scale.

I suppose in a dim room with the right lighting it may make a difference. I have been in strip clubs when they closed up and turned on the main lights and that is just kinda sad. Each girl drops by at least 3 points and others quite a bit more.

Feminists and modern women like to claim that men can't tell when women are wearing very little make up but I think that is bullshit. The simple truth is that make up on women, even minimalist make-up, doesn't enhance their attraction all that much. With girls who know how to apply it to minimize their negative features and maximize their nicer features, it probably adds a point or two but for most it doesn't do much. My .02.

They look like they really look. Modern makeup is as much about creating a mask of confidence as it is about looking better. Women without makeup look more homely, more submissive, less confident. I find that attractive. The sexed up, porn cake face, that is popular today I find slightly masculine in its assertiveness. It's a fantasy, no woman looks like that in real life.

Where would you even find women like this in the first place? NYC? Chicago? A SWPL coffee shop? They look like the same ol women walking around "Anyplace, USA". Nothing special. Number 3 has a nice face though, regardless of the pink hair, she could probably get tha business from any dude.

It's also a good reminder for fellas to be careful of women with acne all over their fucking face like that one chick. That's just nasty. Some women have great makeup skills, to cover that shit up, but most do not have elite skills on that or a make up team, like she probably does. It probably shows that she has hormone issues as well.

I've always wanted to do burlesque because it makes you accept whatever the shape your body is in, and use personality to eccentricify the whole person. It's not about nudity as some cover with nipple tassels, it celebrates the diversity of women as whole without objectifying them.
