Where to party on weeknights in Reykjavik, Iceland

Hey, so I have a business trip to good old Iceland next month. But it's from Sunday to Wednesday. My company arranged it so I didn't have a choice in the matter. [Image: undecided.gif]

I read Bang Iceland and it sounds like locals in Reykjavik mostly party on the weekends. Are there any spots where lots of girls party on the weekdays or even Sunday?

I guess I can extend my stay through the weekend and pay for a place on my own dime, but I'd have to find a cheap affordable room. Any suggestions on how I can find one would be perfectly welcome too.

When I went years ago the area near the Austurvollur Square seemed to be the place to go. It was also pretty busy on weeknights (Wednesday and Thursday) if I remember. This could have changed as I was there over half a decade ago but I doubt it. Reykjavik is a really, really small place and I don't think it changes like the way many bigger cities do.

There's still hope for Sunday nights...

The English Pub is quite lively on Sunday, albeit a slightly older crowd (late 20's, 30's and 40's)

The Big Lewboski was also decent.

Other than that, it is hit or miss and mostly miss. We're talking more bartenders than customers. Some places will even be closed.

Unfortionately, Reykjavik is not the place to be for nightlife action during the week (other than Sunday night)

My advice is to extend your trip through the weekend! I mean, how many chances will you have to visit Iceland right? Go for it! You will not be disappointed. Reykjavik's nightlife is AWESOME!!!

Here's a link to some inexpensive apartments. Roosh was 100% spot on when it came to logistics. It is VITAL (all caps because yeah, it's that important) to stay within a 5-10 minute walk from the venues. Use Google Maps to pin point to the apartment, then get directions to the nearest bars you will frequent. Personal experience...I had a girl lined up for an after party on my first trip, we were walking back to my place. When I told her it was about 15 minutes, she changed her mind and went home. I never made that mistake again!

To the OP - can't you leave early and get there for Friday night, or Saturday at the very least. Those are the two big party nights there and the week is deadsville.
If not then you might have to work Tinder or another online site.

I decided to go ahead and stay thrrough the weekend, it's unsubsidized so it'll cost me a pretty penny, but for Iceland it makes a lot of sense to go YOLO. Any suggestions on where the best night spots to pull are? I have bang iceland but it's been a few years so wanted to see if anyone had any updated inside knowledge.

Here's the link for the Reykjavik Grapevine Bar Guide. Found it useful.

http://grapevine.is/wp-content/uploads/g...rguide.pdf

English Pub - A good place to start the night out. We usually hit it up around 11 and stay for a few beers. It's a small pub with a long bar, small patio out back, and a wheel you can spin (About 15 euros per spin) to win a bunch of beer!

From here, it all depends on your preference for music/style. I listen to more rock and metal, as opposed to hip hop. But I will give you options for both...

Bar 11 - Smaller venue with two bars on each end. Plays rock music, there's usually a line but well worth it. Girls here tend to be aggressive. They'll come right up to. Grabbing your junk. Good times are to be had here! This is probably the place you want to end your night.

Vegamot - Great bar/club that plays rap. Usually a good mix of people. I was wasted the last time I was here. But from what I recall, there was a lot of hot woman, one of which I left the bar with. Another bar you want get late, and close the night with.

The Big Lebowski Unique bar, with a bunch of booths and tables. They were playing Wii games in the front. Great crowd, almost gave me a 70's trippy feel with the atmosphere. But still a good time! More a bar you stop in for a few, before arriving at your final destination.

Austur This is close to a posh type venue as you are going to get. There's no real 'clubs' per say in Reykjavik but a lot of bars that have a club feel. This was one of them. It was decent. But some of the finest girls I saw in Iceland...were here!

And don't forget to try the Hot Dog stand after a night of boozing. It really is that good. Cheap too.

Vegamot was my go to spot, it was a nice club with great music. I have been to Iceland 2x and not sure when it will be 3 but it is a special place.

I think my buddy mentioned Austur is the place now. The clubs are all pretty close together down one street(Lavegeur- spelling), so you can see where the action.

I went a little over a hear ago. I spent 2.5 weeks in Reykjavik, which was a bit long. Sunday - Wednesday were EXTREMELY slow. Every venue I went to was dead. So the answer the questions "which are the best spots to pull?" then answer is "Any place that has girls." I remember seeing some cute girls at Rekjavik Backpackers Hostel. They were mostly sitting at tables with guys, so you'll have to break into those groups and somehow isolate the girls from their childhood friends. That bar also closed by 12:30, so you'll have to work early. Basically on weeknights the only places with any sort of potential were hostel bars. Your best chance is to day game. Weeknights are not even worth it (which was the case in June 2013 at least).

Where to party on weeknights in Reykjavik, Iceland

Hey so I've been here since Sunday, it's been extremely dead and I'm even staying in the center where all the action is supposed to happen. The weather is rainy, cold, windy and overall quite miserable. I think the weekends will start going off, but I definitely would not recommend spending time here on weekdays.

Anyway, I'm hitting the bars/clubs hard tonight. Any recommendations of where I can pull?

So now that there's some critical mass on the streets, I took a stroll around the city center and here are my impressions for anyone who might be interested. I even parked myself next to the busy bus stop where all the young girls wait for their bus.

Icelandic people seem to have a kind of hipster culture. Guys have mini-beards and in the small plaza around the center lots of dudes in plaid skateboarding. I'm not really into that kind of stuff. Generally people seem nice, but not endearingly cute and silly like those in east europe. They more just like polite and composed.

There's a lot of blonde and blue eyed people. In Iceland and Nordic countries, you'd expect that. But it's not as great as it sounds. The blondeness is more of a dirty blonde where it looks like they might smell funky if you get too close.

Blonde hair and blue eyes is perhaps the only thing they seem to have going for them. Most girls are pretty average looking, like 4s and 5s. Their facial features are a bit rough and they're not skinny. More like stocky looking. I saw a few lookers that resemble your stereotypical Scandinavian beauty but they were the rare exception.

Keep in mind though that I tend to like the slavic look more than Scandinavian. To me, it's more feminine and I prefer that. Icelandic people look a bit too viking to me, but maybe some guys dig that. Who am I to say.

So to recap, here's my assessment compared to Poland and Ukraine:

In Poland, I'd say 3 out of 10 girls look pretty good.
In Ukraine, I'd say 4 out of 10 girls look pretty good.
Iceland, I'd say 1 out of 12 girls looks good.

I'm sure the pretty girls will come out in critical mass at night, but that's basically almost everywhere you go. The concentration of nightlife hotties isn't really an accurate barometer of level of typical talent. Anyway, for day game, I would not recommend Reykjavik.

Where to party on weeknights in Reykjavik, Iceland

Hey guys, a short update on Reykjavik. I recently spent Saturday and Sunday there.

Intro
It seems that Iceland has changed a lot in the past few years. It recovered from its crisis (2008-2011) and reached a very high living standard again (GDP per capita at $50,855, 10th highest in the world). Number of tourists have exploded. Since Roosh was there in 2011, the number has gone up from 500k per year to over 1.5 million!

Furthermore, the US army is there, see this thread: thread-54889.html

Iceland only has a population of around 330,000, of which about 120'000 live in Reykjavik.

Reykjavik is pretty expensive:
- AirBnB room at a decent location $100 per night
- beer in a pub ISK 1,200 = $10
- small dish such as fish and chips between ISK 1,500 and 2,400 = $12-19
- one-way airport to Reykjavik by bus $22

Girls
Most girls are average size but quite a few are on the fat side. Some are even really fat (and they are let into the clubs!). Many have the typical Scandinavian look, but you also see some girls with dark features. I haven't come across any stunners (highest was an 8).

They are very friendly and willing to talk. I have not found any cockblocking behavior nor bitch shield. Everyone speaks perfect English.

Nightlife
Everything is located around the following streets: Austurstræti, Bankastræti and Laugavegur. I tried out the following:

The English Pub
Nice pub with live music, easygoing, I'd say 50% tourists. Slightly older crowd. I recommend for a beer and warming up.

American Bar
Shitty bar, 95% dudes when I was there. Though, I was quite early. A girl later suggested going there as it would be one of the best places in Reykjavik. I did not check out again.

Lebowski Bar
Average, but not suited for meeting girls. Many girls are in the sit-down area which is separated from the bars. Slightly older crowd.

Austur
Besides B5 one of the famous "clubs". I did not like the layout that much: the dance floor is all at the back while the front and bar area was empty, even late at night.

B5
My favorite club by far and one of the best places I have ever been to in the world. There are uncountable opportunities to hit on girls: in the line, at the bar, in the chillout-area, outside smoking. The dance-floor is in the middle, so if you want a drink, you have to cross it to get to the bar. Same for going to the toilet, going to the chill-out or going outside again. This allows you to chat up many girls. Everyone gets insanely drunk and everyone is very friendly. A simple coke sets you back ISK 400 ($3).

My experience
Unfortunately, I could not pull that night. But I believe, that the odds would be quite good, have I had another night. I got make-outs with 3 girls, including an Tyler style 3-way makeout (really she's your girlfriend? you should kiss her...), all of them at B5 on Saturday. I later tried my luck at the hotdog stand, but no bangable material around.

You encounter many tourists, mainly Americans (east cost), UK (stag idiots), Germans and Norwegians.

Sunday was dead as fuck. I went to The English Pub again, but no action there.

Conclusion
Still an enjoyable place if you find a cheap flight (you will need your money after arrival). Make sure you spend Friday and Saturday night there. Buy some booze at the duty-free.
