Daredevil - lamest show Netflix has put out yet. The Netflix kiddie show Richie Rich is literally better than Daredevil.

Lillyhammer was good, but I heard they may not make Season 4 due to business feuds.

"Wake in Fright." It's an Australian cult classic from the 70's with 100% rating on RottenTomatoes.

You'll have to download Hola or something else and open up the Australian or New Zealand netflix to find it (assuming you're not located in those places already).

Disturbing but well worth a watch.

I got all boogered up last night and binge watched season 2 of The Walking Dead. Was jumping up and down on the couch with a Mossberg screamng 'pew pew pew' when the walkers came out of the barn. I love Netflix so much.

For old school TV series, I watched Columbo. I like seeing the cars from 1972, and what LA looked like back then (surprisingly not too much different except for the cars). It's also interesting to watch Columbo figure out a case - very analytical. The show is set up so the viewer witnesses the crime in the first 15 minutes and knows what happened, then you watch Columbo figure it out. The first season is best (the formula gets tedious after awhile), but I hopped around to other seasons too. In one show, the actress who played Samantha from Sex in the City (Kim Cattrell) was in it, but she was like 21. Man, she was a looker back then. Like a better looking Scarlett Johansson.

The Babadook is now streaming. It was the most acclaimed horror film of last year. Can't wait to check it out.

I saw that it had been added and got really excited. Well, and nervous, because I have a very love/hate relationship with horror movies.

I had a lazy weekend and watched quite a few episodes of Archer and Hunter x Hunter. I also watched a few movie, I'll give each a short review.

The Interview

I thought this was great, I enjoyed it a lot. I think a lot of the negative media attention was due to the fact that it was a very anti-media movie, which is probably the most subversive thing about it. I mean, the South Park guys mocked North Korea way worse ten years ago. Randall Park, the actor playing Kim Jong Un, gave a brilliant performance and deserves tons of respect for not playing a caricature, but an actual character. The writers deserve respect as well for actually writing him as a complicated, conflicted character, and not as a Bad Guy without anything else to him. The dick jokes were pretty funny and overall I thought it was just as good as This Is the End. I can't wait to see what these guys do with Preacher, an upcoming AMC show based on one of the most badass and entertaining original comic book titles ever made.

Pumping Iron

Basically a documentary about Arnold Schwarzenegger's last Mr. Olympia win before he retired and became a famous actor. It also heavily featured Lou Ferrigno, who mostly gets bullied and teased by Ah-nold up until the competition. Ah-nold is extremely Alpha, but yet I think he was a very honorable man. He fucks with Lou's mind at breakfast before the competition, but as soon as it is over (and he's eating fried chicken and smoking a joint) he brings everyone's attention to the fact that it is Lou's birthday and gets everyone to sing for him. An extremely competitive man, but he was a quality guy too. Just don't leave your girl alone with him!

Wow.... its on the Netflix and worth a watch, even though it has many cringe worthy "beta" moments. Even thought I did like the girl getting married to the guy with the soul patch, they might work out. I liked that girls parents her dad just smiled a lot and had a sweet stache.... no homo

I dont want to give an spoilers away cause it may give away the plot for those who have not seen it. However there is some discussion worthy shit in this documentary

I second Wake In Fright. Nick Cave called it the best and most terrifying film about Australia.

If I were going to make a film, I would want it to play like Wake In Fright. I give it my highest recommendation.

The actors are generally pretty good and the girl is unusually attractive for a lead, except her nose is rather short. The effects and production values are high so they remind me of Mummy, but it flopped.

I started watching 3rd Rock From the Sun. It would never air today, but there are quite a lot of jokes aimed at women. It is quite enjoyable watching a TV show where they don't (exclusively) make the leading male character out to be a buffoon.

Just watched Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal. It's an action movie about a psychopath crime reporter in LA who is good at what he does but will fuck anybody over to get what he wants. I recommend this film.

Also watched a few episodes of The Layover which is another travel/food series from Anthony Bourdain. If you liked No Reservations you'll probably like this one.

Check out "Somm," an entertaining documentary about 4 guys trying to pass the Master Sommelier test. The dedication required to pass this exam is something close to superhuman, so only like 4-6 people pass it per year. Many devote their lives to passing it, but never do. And yet, the standards to pass are never lowered, and those who fail are never told why they failed, only that they have improved (or not) from their previous annual attempt.

You learn a lot about wine in this movie. I never knew "freshly opened can of tennis balls" or "decaying forest floor" were possible wine scents, but apparently they are.

RVF'ers will appreciate the dedication and focus of these four guys trying to become the best of the best.

This movie was great. My first Korean movie. There's been talk about how the Korean film industry is really hot right now. This movie made me pay attention. Now I will be strictly seeking out Korean movies to watch.
