No-Homo Skin Care Tips

Washing your face at night before you go to bed is much more important and effective than washing your face in the morning.

Good tips everyone. It makes sense to change out your pillow case regularly, never thought about it.

Shanefalco - you're saying products with only 2.5% benzyl peroxide work better than 10%? What problems come from 10%? There's a cream I use from walgreens and I can't use it every night or my face feels real dry, gotta do it every other night.

Does anyone else get back pimples? Its pretty much the same for me as my face. Its a lot more blemishes than actual pimples

I have some back pimples, that have been there for a while. Not sure how to address those? Any ideas, someone? It doesn't affect my dating however, because if a woman sees my back, it means I am no longer interested...it's really more vanity than anything..

Man I used to have quite a few back blackheads, and for some reason 50% of the women I dated love to remove them. I'd be sleep and feel a pinch turn around and the crazy broad is busting black heads.

Maybe it's like bubble wrap to bi$ches who knows, but I've had american black, foreign dominican and venezuelan chicks who love that sh$t like its a challenge or something. So I assume it's a universal woman habit.

I've never heard of using vitamin E, i'll look into it though. I hope y'all don't get your eyebrows done. That's almost as bad as guys getting their nails done.

Don't know where you're from. But where I'm from most of us guys get their eyebrows done in the barbershop. I think having clean eyebrows is much better than having bushy eyebrows [Image: idea.gif]

I think it's up to how your culture pictures beauty.

I am a true believer is skin care and found that you don't have to spend big bucks to achieve better skin. In fact I wouldn't use any of the commercial products available except for retin a.

My routine is to use rotate "retin A" and vitamin c serum daily. And to use vitamin e oil every morning.

Check out the links.

http://www.natural-skin-care-info.com/vi...serum.html

I buy my Vitamin c powder here. Enough for making enough serum for a year.

http://www.amazon.com/L-Ascorbic-Acid-99...290&sr=8-2

"L-asorbic acid" is what you want. Vitamin c crystals don't work.

Anybody who says taking care of your skin is gay is nuts. After spending many years being tan, smoking and not getting enough sleep from clubbing and staying out late. It takes its toll.

Don't confuse the Body Shop with the same-sounding Bath and Body Works, which is a bullshit store that sells overly fragrant teen-girl products, and is tantamount to going to Victoria's Secret, putting on a pair of panties, and expertly dancing a pas de deux in the food court.

That you mention a pas de deux, gay. That I know what a pas de deux is, even gayer.

Ok, my two centavos:

Ever since turning 13 I had acne. Nothing extremely critical, but severe enough to make me feel bad about myself. I found out that the only thing that makes them go away is time. Yet, Im 32 now and I still get the ocassional zit every now and then.

The following advice is what has worked for me. You should consult with a professional.

Ok, to control your acne, start on the inside. Eat healthy (That means no processed foods. If it comes wrapped in pastic, dont eat it) Dont drink milk, juice or soda, only water, and plenty of it. No diary. Cut down on tobacco and alcohol, that means rarely or never. Sleep well. Exercise. Keep a log of what you do and eat and look out for patterns. If there is something that you think is making it worse, stop doing it and see if theres any improvement.

Keep your face clean, use neutral or natural soap bars, with no fragrances or additives. Use a clear one with triclosan if you can get it. (Neutrogena I think) Also use a facewash/scrub gel that has acetylsalycilic acid once or twice a week. (Also neutrogena I think)

Keep everything you face touches clean, your hands, towels (have a separate towel just for the face) linens, pillowcases. Change the pillow cases daily if you have to.

For actual prevention/ treatment, the cheapest and most effective is to use benzoil peroxide cream, thats regular clearasil. Use the one thats 5% or 10% concentration, any more is overkill and it dries your skin up.

After showering and before going to bed, apply a pea sized drop on your finger and distribute it evenly on your face. Dab a little more on sensitive areas like the nose or cheeks. Buy the skin-colored one so you can tell if you missed any spot. If you get a zit, get a little extra on it during the day (the skin-color cream will help you hide it or even out), and get a dab on at nightime, unless you are with a girl.

This can and will dry your skin. Use moisturizer, get one thats not oily and that gets into your skin quickly. If you want to pop one out (hehe) wait until its dry.

This will help you mitigate acne or even make it dissapear if your condition is not too severe. But get it done and take care of your skin because it feels fucking ridiculous to be 32 and still have a fucking volcano grow on your forehead.

Start with a lotion treatment. Just go with something like St. Ives and treat the surface three times a day.

My tips for healthy skin, which a couple others have mentioned some are:

1) Eat healty

2) Use natural glycerine soap. You can find a good selection at whole foods.

3) Take MSM. It does wonders for your hair, skin, and joints

4) Carrots are said to help your skin. I also drink lots of smoothies. Certain fruits can help your skin.

There's absolutely nothing gay about taking care of your skin. You get one fucking face, protect and take care of it. Michael Jordan (who none of us would accuse of being a beta male or a gay male), gets pedicure/manicures as well as facials. How do I know? I used to swoop a girl who did it for him in Chicago.

-Art of Shaving are the BEST shaving products. They have a store in Miami where they'll shave your face with a straight blade too. Every man needs to experience a straight razor shave at least once in his life.

-I smoke a pack a day, have drank countless gallons of vodka in my lifetime, have gone out on the town and not slept for 2-3 days at a time and STILL get opened occasionally re: my good skin. It's evolution: girls want the best genes to mate with, so by taking care of your mug you're making it easier to open and swoop fly chicks.

I used Proactive for about 6 months and in my opinion it has way too much B peroxide for me.
Eventually I bought their Green Tea Moisturizer but if I wasn't applying that or any other moisturizer every hour, it would seem like I was peeling frm a bad sunburn.

I definitely recommend less than 5% B peroxide. I also used a salicylic face/body wash while in the shower and that helped a lot.

So what do you do daily for your good skin? Lots of water? Lots of fish/avocados/peanuts/almonds/etc? Cold showers?

So it straight-up is gay, but my favorite shave cream actually comes from "Nancy Boy" in San Francisco (and yeah, their motto is "not tested on animals--tested on boyfriends"). I haven't tried Art of Shaving, but I've tried Geo. Trumper's, Taylor's, Proraso, and a bunch of highly-recommended brands, and this stuff is better than any of them. You have to have a pretty secure self-image to have a jar of "Nancy Boy" in your shaving kit, but it's great stuff and women think it's hilarious.

No-Homo Skin Care Tips

So good tips in here that I will try but I have a specific question/problem.

Every once in a while I get a humongous painful pimple, or is it an ingrown hair? I've noticed it only tends to happen if I don't shave for 3 days or longer but it is almost as though a hair gets blocked and can't break through the surface. I don't notice it usually until there is some swelling/puss behind it, from this point on I have sometimes had success with using "Clean&Clear" to dry it out and slowly reduce the size.

But I'm telling you guys this thing can get to the size of a marble under my skin, is a deep red and painful. I usually end up pinching around the area until the puss comes out, it's usually a think milky puss too or until I pop the hair out of my face. When I do this the "root" part of the hair is covered in a thin skin like film/texture and it is usually multiple hairs (2-4) "stuck" together. I have even had the hair and puss explode out and onto the bathroom mirror before when I have squeezed it. Needless to say either way I try to treat this it fucks my face up pretty good for a time period of 1-2 weeks. Any advice for treating these when they arise or anyone know what they are?

Best cure I've ever found for acne: honey. Pop the bastard, put a dot of honey on it, and leave it overnight. If you want it to work even faster, cover it with a band-aid. Also gets rid of hyper-pigmentation.

Now I need some help. I use this in the morning for my face which is great.

and these 2 at night
[Image: clean+and+clear+cleanser_06232010224949.jpg]

I don't trust those 2 mainstream products on my face anymore. They're controlling the pimples but I want to use something more natural and not as harsh while still keeping pimples away. How do I go about finding new face washes that have these features? It's hard getting something healthy and natural but also tough on acne.

Use a product with tea tree oil to treat acne, desert essence is a good brand, it's not tea-tree related, but their pomegranite facial wash is probably my favorite of all the types I've tried, and I only use all natural products.

I think some kind of facial mask (sticky and mudlike) works too, besides soaps and stuff...a friend used it and said it was effective; unfortunately I don't know the name of it.
