HAHA I'm also in a sort of that kind of ' illuminati' thing in Amsterdam. The one you talk sbout must be the A.S.C./A.V.S.V.
I have this couple of times a month! I pay around 80/90 a month and drink as much I want. What you have seen is the best of the best in the Dutch frat/sorority world. You also find this in Utrecht, Leiden, Groningen and some more places if you know where to look.
Enjoy the perks my man. The unique nature of the environment allows for people of the same age with excessive hormones have amazing times with minimal responsibilities. 90eur/month is 3eur per day. Go to any Western European city and that is a beer a day.
Dutch women are tall and beautiful as well. Good to party with and open minded.

I would see a university town in the UK. Newcastle might be one of the wildest in Europe.
Define your sense of wild. I assume that OP's wildest time is one that he will remember fondly without excessive amounts of ape-like behaviour in clubs polluted with jocks fist pumping to remixes of top 40 songs.
I omitted a few unis in the UK on purpose. That being said there is a lot of choice and lots of student girls to choose from with a few unis there (not even on a carnage night) but that place has zero charm whatsoever.
Cyr, having studied in the UK I think it is overrated, what do you think? Perhaps its the Erasmus placebo? A lot of US students live in my building (not in the UK) and its one big circle jerk and it takes me back to uni .
Why do you think studying in the UK is overrated?
And overall this thread deserves some more replies. Next Semester I will stay in Spain with Erasmus. I've visited a student-only place in Trondheim (Norway) last fall that is really promising, I've visited a student party in Budapest last fall that was really good, saw some other student places in Europe that are good but all in short stints and that is why I look forward for the next semester.
Luisaceo nailed it.
UK student life overrated because:
- Overpriced drinks and entry
- What is not overpriced lacks class and is polluted with drunk, puking, silly people -> Carnage/student nights/Malaga-Zante people in one
- The hottest girls are the overseas ones
- Local girls (average) automatically prefer English guys, especially the jocks or hipsters
- The weather is shit and this limits you to clubbing. This also means everybody stays in and smokes weed and is subject to shitty moods. The people who go out will constantly be the same ones.
- Police are strict on house parties. Every single one (albeit they were major ones) got busted by the cops. One got a bit out of hand and evictions were handed out and the university and dean got involved. Blacklisting and added to watchlists not ideal. (find someone who owns a house and avoid this, this worked in our final year)
- Cockfests everywhere. Approaching on campus is your viable solution but shitty weather means people will not really hang out there.
- Travelling is expensive. Buses/taxis/etc.
- A lot and I mean a lot of drug usage.
On the flipside,
+ if you are jacked, you will get laid a lot, just put yourself out there
+ freshers week is usually a lot of fun, pace yourself
+ London has caters to all tastes, just prepare to pay a lot
+ it has good universities for your future CVs
