I was very blond when I was a kid (almost white hair) and preferred blondes then but as I got older and my hair got darker I actually started preferring brunettes. I don't know how to explain it but brown and black is my preference, but I do like some blondes if they're actually blonde, I'm not a fan of the bottle blonde at all, but at least some white girls can pull it off, when I see a black or brown girl with bleached blonde hair it just looks so stupid to me.

I've found blondes are way more judgmental of outsiders, and of any hint of deviating from the norm and being eccentric. It's a strong generalization for such a broad group, but that's what I've found.
Scandinavians are kind of like that. Social harmony does not come cheap.

Lighter hair is perceived by some, including myself, as more feminine. If you look at pics of the same woman/same expression with blonde hair vs black hair, the blonde hair version will appear slightly more feminine to most guys.
Kind of a similar thing with skin color, though that obviously can't be changed as readily. Men seem to perceive fairer skin as more feminine.
The opposite of that is female attraction for darker hair, darker skin - I suppose they perceive it as more masculine.
It's
neoteny, "the retention of juvenile features in the adult animal". Fair hair is associated with youth, as people's hair gets darker as they age. Thus, fair hair triggers protective instincts (both in males and females). Femininity could be defined as that which triggers males' protective instincts.
If fair hair is associated with youth, dark hair is associated with maturity. The child is protected, the adult protects. Hence, fair hair is feminine, dark hair is masculine.
Having said that, I despise peroxide blondes. They look trashy to me. Too many of them, and they all look the same.
My weaknesses are (natural) strawberry blondes and raven-haired, blue/green/gray-eyed chicks from Slavic or Baltic countries.

I would formerly often see a blonde in passing who worked near me downtown. We'd exchange friendly Hellos, nothing more. She was cute enough, but not enough that I thought about her.
Suddenly, she's gone for a couple of weeks on vacation in the tropics. Upon return, her hair and eyes were now lighter than her bronzed skin, and the effect was startling. Suddenly I knew no prettier girl. Her image is still burned into my brain 21 years later.
I've tried to combat the stereotype. I recognize great beauty in darker-haired girls. But for some of us, light-eyed blondes have a superhuman, kryptonite-like power over us that other women don't.

Hmm, I'm a blondeaholic. Esp blue or grey eyed ones. But for me, the situation is complex.
Myself, I have very dark black hair (E European black, not Western).
I find I tend to date dark/brown haired women a lot. But, on looks alone, I'd usually choose the blonde.
Altho' when I was very young( say 8/9/10 yrs old), I actually preferred the raven haired type. I wonder what changed when I was say... 11 or so???
However, its not about natural blonde. Because my favourite type is East Slavic. And most of the time, they're bottle blonde.
I'm not sure what the attraction is. I associate brunette especially black haired ones with intelligence, darkness, moodiness even, mysterious and prone to staying in or ruminating. I associate blondes with very good social skills, extrovert, happy, love going out and arranging social stuff. Blonde is also associated with youthfulness and not "demanding to be taken seriously" ("career women"). Blonde is saying "I'm a fucking sex bomb". Brunette is saying "I'm smart, I demand to be respected in my career". Blonde reminds me of the film "The Golden Child" - imagine the ancient world where everyone has black hair, and a mysterious person of mythical powers appears etc etc. I honestly think blondes and brunettes behave differently too - not genetically so much, but in terms of how they are. Blonde also means "I want to spend money on looking hot, appearance is important, I'm not spending all my life climbing the career ladder bullshit like a man".
So part of it to me, is that I associate blondes with certain traits. Also, we are tuned in to want something slightly different from ourselves. Some say thats about people choosing what sort of kids they'd want. But I think that attraction is about finding someone with a "compatible energy". Energy thats the same won't work.
Anyway, thats my theory! haha
WHat is the difference of Eastern Euro type of black hair compared to western european? A lot of western europeaans have very black hair, specially french, Irish and British People, many of them have very black hairs, even when they can have pale skin and lighter eyes.. The atlantic coast of europe wasnt known particularly for their blonde hair.
FOr my part I love blondes a lot, but specially germanic blonde women (German,Scandinavian, Dutch, Austrian, and sometimes czech too) or I like Western slavic brunettes, specially Polish but also from other slavic nations

I just dont like the typical western european brunette looks which is boring... or the look of typical American brunettes which is even 10 times more boring (generic features).

I like to think that I am into Latinas, Japanese and Mediterranean girls. Every single LTR except for one was with a blonde/blue eyed treat. I've never set out to be with one, but thats what I always end up with. Maybe its time to switch it up.

I would like to point out that the obsession with blondes goes back well over a thousand years, perhaps two thousand. Slavers were selling blond, light skinned women from northern Europe at a premium in slave markets in Rome (100bc) and later in Constantinople (400ad+) to Alexandria (700ad+) during the Caliphate.

Well people used to say to me in England "no you look foreign". I couldn't understand it because ofcourse lots of 100% Brits have black hair. Anyway, you can't really see it so well on a monitor, but there are different types of black. Some is shiny, British is like a matt black. Also British is very dark brown. But other countries, its black with a blue tint that can be hard to detect.

Anyway, back to BLONDES hahaha!
