You give a child an allowance for doing chores so the child can learn about money, work, and self discipline. It also feels infinitely better as a parent when the child comes to their own conclusion about spending money on someone else. Treating females like "ladies" has been a concept lost me since early childhood. Female manipulation and treachery doesn't start around puberty. I remember back second grade this girl broke up me and my then best friends' friendship. He was the class prefect and might have had a crush on her. Whenever teachers left to the staff room, he was authorized to monitor the class and enforce discipline by writing down the names of unruly students and handing it to the teacher.
