I'm getting a handful of fake profiles that massage me out of the blue with opening lines like.

I signed up to OKC like two months ago and within about three weeks I was placed among the special OKC people. Since then I keep getting messages from profiles that clearly must be fake with very short profiles and a picture that is sometimes too hot. Just yesterday as soon as logged in I got three messages from different women within the same minute, I'm like what the hell. Did I become Ryan Gosling over night or something? What's funny though is that I haven't cared to do much on the site as of yet, I currently have other priorities.

When I called out one of the hotties and told them that I thought their profile was fake. They wanted me to move onto snapchat where supposedly they would show me more pictures of themselves. I have never used snapchat so I left it there.

Are any of you guys experiencing this right now on OKC? Perhaps it will continue to get worse, filling up with trolls or fatties.

OKC has really gone down hill in regards to quality women. It's unfortunate because it used to be a pretty good source a few years ago when I wrote a mini data sheet on it. As of right now, here is how I rank online dating apps for my area:

Why bother? Invest your time outside of online by attending selected events that match your interests. Time is man's most valuable resource. Use it by not wasting time on these useless dating apps built around extracting time and resources from men to satiate the unchecked wants from today's women.

As far as WTF interactions go, I had one last night that was...disturbing.

Some woman who lists Russia/Ukraine in her background who posts a grainy photo has a profile littered with text-speak (u r type stuff) and who goes off on a tear about how she is seeking a "1%er" who is her intellectual equal. Yep I've banged a girl on the first date when she said 6 dates on her profile...Conversely, it's rare for a girl who writes that she's looking for a hookup to even respond to my messages.

Hell yeah. That's the main attraction of OK Cupid vs. other sites. I have not found that it leads to better conversions, though. Part of this might have to do with the fundamental problem with matching through similarity. For instance, I like a lot of geeky or cerebral things. But geeky chicks and over-educated academics rarely pass the boner-test. When I find a near-100% match and we start chatting I am just not that enthused because she's kind of straddling a 4-5. I've got one who chatted me up on Friday and I'm sure she's a nice person but I'm just indifferent about her despite the match percentage.

I wouldn't recommend online dating for older guys or younger guys.

It's a cesspool of trannies, catfish, bots, prostitutes, crazy women, and women who look significantly worse than their photos (this is the most common issue).

Now I guess OkCupid went all out with its latest update. It will now also require the person you message to find you within the “DoubleTake” feature and then they must “Like” you back in order to view your message(s). In other words mutual “Likes” to view any messages.
