It all comes down to perspective.

Where are you from?

What is your life history?

Break it down and I can probably pinpoint the disconnect.

G,

I know smoking is your thing (best pickup line) so I thought I would ask. Do you carry a lighter on you all the time? And do you have a cigarette case you carry on you? I ask because I find it such a bitch to carry a pack on me while rolling out at night. Hell, I can't stand carrying too much shit on me besides my keys, phone and wallet. So my question is how do you operate?

I also would like to hear the answer to this question.

Never saw this.

I will tackle this soon.

Yeah man, I also would appreciate your advice on this as well.

No problem.

Ask and you shall receive.

There is an idea of a Michael Porfirio 'G Manifesto' Mason; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real him: only an entity, something illusory. And though he can hide his cold gaze, and you can shake his hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense your lifestyles are probably comparable... he simply is not there.

I just wanted to figure out how you made money. If you act mysterious, don't be surprised at people being curious. The way you present yourself makes many people skeptical at first blow, that's all.

As for me, I work as a Software Developer in Silicon Valley, I moved here recently from Canada.

I don't understand it. Did he ask you for a loan, or what?
To give you an idea, I'm skeptical pretty much at everything I read on the Internet. However this doesn't bothers me at all. Is there a possibility that some people here misrepresent their financial, sexual or life success? Sure there is. But unless it affects you in some way (for example he asked you for a loan and you want to make sure you'd be paid back), why would you even care?

Personally I put the value on how the people behave themselves, and what kind of content they create/advice they give. I put no value in what people say about themselves, and I suggest you do the same. It doesn't really matter.

Did you do it on that T1 visa thing? Do you prefer Cali to Canada? What part of Canada are you from? How are the lizards treating you out west?

You guys are looking too much into it. It was something I wanted to solve, other people were curious too and I wanted other people's feed back so they could add things I missed. I researched it like you research which companies make Warren Buffet the most money because your reading about Warren Buffet and your curious. He doesn't owe me anything and I have no emotional investment about how he makes money.

TN Visa/Status. I appreciate the weather, Amazon prime and the shopping. In&Out Burger is surprisingly good [I don't feel sick!] and Chipolte is actually nice, except their Burritos are too big. Bicycling was no fun in the rain & impossible in the snow, now I can go out on my bike pretty much 24/7. Silicon Valley is more south of SF, around Stanford and the surrounding area mostly and has better weather than that postage stamp of a city. It's around a 40 minute drive.

I've haven't bothered with lizards since I've been so busy just integrating (credit histories don't cross borders, huge headache) and working 50-70 hour weeks. I live in a suburban wasteland of elderly people and families, it's frustrating and I don't have a car. I'm probably going to buy a car soon, trying to decide if I should get 2000 Boxster or a 2007 Fit. Boxster would be fun, but probably a huge money pit/headache and I can't exactly put a road bike in it. Fit won't be a headache and I can put a bike in it plus more. It's kind of fun to drive. Once I have a car I'll start going out.

I broke up with my long term girlfriend in Canada soon after I moved down, so I can't really give much of a comparison. She was pretty unique so she wouldn't represent the typical Canadian lizard.

Whats really ironic is that my tax load in Cali is the same as Canada, but Canada has universal medicare and any public university in Canada is like a state school in costs. I think the only time when americans get lower taxes is living in states with no income tax, and when they own a house and get the mortgage interest tax deduction.

Nem, comrade, how do you determine who you can trust and who you can't? I am curious because I've met a lot of people and when push comes to shove, a lot of these cats are flakes.

What do you use as a litmus test to determine who you can trust and who you cannot?

Too vague, I need specifics. It's nice to be vague but in real life, if I say come and eat with me, how can you trust that I have not spiked your food?

If I invite you to stay at my place, how can you trust it is not a setup?

If you only trust yourself, then you should just hide in a cave.

I need specifics. If you are in a business relationship, how do you gauge character etc?

Everyone has intuition. If you're a buddy from work you've known for the last year invites you over to have a beer your intuition will probably say:
'We know him, he's cool, we both like _____ girl'

If some bum on the street invites you back to his box and hands you a glass of water, your intuition is gonna say:
'Oh fuck no, run, run like the wind'

In business or career I assume everyones out to fuck me and sell me down the river. I trust only what I see and what I know to be true, but that doesn't mean if someone says "hey there might be an opening up the ladder for you soon" that I'm gonna yell "Fucking liar!" I'm gonna assume they're full of shit, but keep my eyes open.

Trusting yourself means trusting your judgment

I will follow G into hell for one reason: he advocates a version of The Game that involves wearing something other than motherfuckin Ed Hardy t-shirts.

Back in December last year, I started going heavy into all of this shit. I read all the Mystery, Style and Tyler Durden shit. You name it.

The number one thing, over and over, I hated was the constant advocacy for dressing like a fuckin penis with ears (sorry, that's a common phrase in most languages describing guys who wear Ed hardy t-shirts).

No matter how much I read and agreed with all the literature I was reading, the stuff about peacocking and wristbands and goofy hats made me want to start self-injuring. Of all the advice in the great pile of The Game that I was not going to follow, peacocking in an Ed Hardy shirt was by far the stuff I simply refused to do. If that's the price of wetting my dick, I'd sooner cut the thing off.

To be honest, I grew up dirt poor and I came to The Game after making my money. I find the idea of dressing down offensive. I have arrived, goddammit, and I am going to dress accordingly.

More than anyone else I have read, G's views resonate with my views on this matter.

Slightly impassioned. And truth be told, I disagree with some of G's stuff. But, the general outline, to me, just clicks. What's the point of getting rich and becoming an international traveler awash in women if you're not gonna dress the part?

In conclusion: I like G because fuck wearing Ed Hardy.

"The G. Manifesto" based on what Ive read is kinda like me. A half spanish/white irish cat who knows and has mastered the streets, grew up in a hip hop culture with friends of all nationalities, and strives on being the best he can be and banging the finest females in the world. If you dont understand his slang, you shouldnt be reading is stuff(its not for you , it could get you hurt in life) I understand the brother protects his identity becasue hes a G. number 1. and number 2. all you haters out there see his face and would be trying to start shit while hes going to work on a mami at the bar . He dont need that shit. Big Ups G, keep it G.

What do you use as a litmus test to determine who you can trust and who you cannot?

There are three things we use.

The first one is congruence. You look for the signs of congruence, which is mostly non-verbal - same as chicks here do. This is why here in US sometime I can say a dude is full of shit well before he even opens his mouth. And this is why a lot of Russians appear very unemotional and self-controlling. When you're emotional if you're lying it is very easy to lose the congruence. This is also why people are being provoked into emotional responses.

The second one is shit testing. Basically if a dude talks about the subject you know at least remotely, you encourage him to continue into deeper details and see where it goes. For the bullshit people they usually start making things up, and at this point someone who really knows the stuff jumps on them and publicly destroys them. The dude then gets reputation of a windbag, and it travels FAST, so this is not something likely to happen. It happens much more often here in US with Russian chicks who have lived in the US for a while, and mostly hanged out with locals. They became used to guys staring at them with open mouths swallowing every spoon of bullshit she was feeding to them just because she has tits, so being called out in public for their bullshit by a dude is a shocking experience to them. I've done it couple of days ago, and loved every second of it.

The third is "network of trust". Usually you have friends who you know you can trust, who always try to make their own opinion about things and know the stuff. You can rely on their opinion when new people are introduced into your social circle. Same goes about windbags. This way the community protects its own integrity, so while gossiping behind backs is frowned upon in Russian culture, spreading this kind of information is not considered gossiping and is encouraged. It also helps to find the experts in the area, i.e. if your friend said Andrew got him out of legal trouble, and you got one, Andrew probably be one of the first guys you'd talk to.

To make it specific, a person doesn't have to know everything to be trustworthy. He may share his opinion about anything at all as long as he makes it clear it is his personal opinion based on what he read/heard/listened to, and is not based on experience. It is the people who pretend they are something they aren't who typically get in trouble. For example, a guy who said he never skydived and he thinks you cannot breathe in freefall (a common misconception) I'll correct him. But if a guy says he did 50 jumps and he knows you cannot breathe in freefall, I'll call him out.
