Facebook Deactivation 90 Day Challenge- How long have you guys gone without Facebook?

My Facebook doesn't have my name number or any personal deets. I barely use it for any purpose other than chatting to friends and logistics. Works fine for me, and is handy in that regard

The thing about Facebook is that you need self control. McQueen just did a great post on Facebook on his blog a couple of days ago. I personally use it for getting help with school work and for managing a fantasy football league. Also I have many friends all over the world and facebook makes it VERY convenient to chat them up anytime you feel like it. And it also tells you if they got your message so ones that don't respond you can safely delete and never look back.

Also, sometimes it is kind of nice to facebook stalk the nice looking girls you fucked/fucked up with before. It's also fun to flirt with girls by commenting "gross" on pictures a bunch of thirsty guys like. I do that all the time and they always like the comment and talk to me about it later. 0 effort on my part. For guys in a rigorous academic environment I can't even imagine how hard school was before social media.

I live fine without Facebook for almost 3 weeks now.

However it is the toughest for girls 16 - 23 years old,
which statistics show that they spend on average between 150 and 200 hours every month on Facebook,
and it is much more addictive than cigarettes for them.

Deleted my facebook ~8 months ago and never went back. Really don't miss it, and when I look at it again it's all the same people doing the same charade of pretending their lives are somehow changing.

CMcQ's post was spot on. People out there living the life don't have a need to show people the life they are living. And those that do are probably promoters/ have a marketing agenda in mind that puts $$$ in their pocket

I went back Facebook for a little bit, but at the end of the day it didn't really peak my interest it was quite boring and some BS posted over and over again.

and it didn't really register with me anymore, I feel like most of the stuff on there is worthless junk.

And as the previous post mentioned it seemed like most people where promoting their own agenda through some type of forced marketing by their companies, clubs, or events.

I guess I am going to keep my facebook deactivated for the rest of the 90 days and see where it goes from there.

Never felt the need to have an account , I just don't like the idea of people knowing what I'm doing or have done.

Facebook Deactivation 90 Day Challenge- How long have you guys gone without Facebook?

I deleted all my social media accounts over a year ago and haven't had anything besides my phone which at the time had no contacts because I reseted it. So I've only kept in touch with people who I'm close with or those I see randomly on outings and ask for my number. Whenever I see someone I haven't spoken to in ages the conversations are always better since neither of us knows what the other has been doing for said amount of time.

I deactivated my Facebook back in September of '13. It was a solid move on my part. people who want to see me hit me up, and I hit up people I want to see. Otherwise, I've cut a lot of people out of my life. Who needs to be constantly showered with likes for doing or saying shit? That said, do what works for you. I'm sure some guys run nasty FB game and need it.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

By deactivating Facebook, you see which people actually matter in your life, because they will always be there. I personally deactivated because I was sick of validation whores, and its not just women, but a lot of betas too. Plus lets be honest, how many of those 800 friends do you talk to on a regular basis... Probably in my case, a maximum of 50.

Not sure if this video has been posted on a different thread, but made me never regret my decision to go "incognito"

I just deleted my Facebook. I was holding on to it telling myself that I was staying in touch with people I met when I was abroad, but then I realized that I was never actually contacting them. So I scrolled through my friends list and didn't even bother to write down any people that I want to stay in contact with because the only people I do actually talk to with facebook are people I already talk to in real life or through text with exactly 2 exceptions. What a fucking waste of time. I'm relieved. Now I'm social media account free and it feels great.

Facebook Deactivation 90 Day Challenge- How long have you guys gone without Facebook?

^As the kids say these days "Those feels doe"

I was at the beach yesterday with one of my close friends enjoying the weather, throwing a frisbee around, talking about girls, life, and our upcoming camping plans. All around us we noticed girls and guys posing and taking cell phone pictures of eachother as if the beach was one giant photography studio. Not a word of exaggeration, there were 4 separate groups of people within a 100' radius of us who were all taking turns posing for eachother to take cell phone pics. We saw a group of 3 dudes siting on a beach towel all staring down at their phones not saying a word to eachother. Walked around the strip and got some beach pizza; saw girls taking pictures of themselves eating pizza. Grabbed lunch earlier in the day and sat outside next to an ice cream stand, saw some chubby beta buy a large soft serve in a cone, take 3 paces from the counter, hold his cone a couple feet from his face, snap an iPhone pic, then start eating it (he was alone).

I messaged a girl on OKC last night who had a picture in her profile that someone took of her back side at the beach - just standing in the sand straight with her back to the camera. I messaged her with "Why do girls always take pictures of eachother posing on the beach?" He response was "Because we wanna have the memories"

Yeah? Years from now you are going to look at the 200 pictures you took of yourself making duckfaces on the beach throughout he summer of 2014? Yeah, thats something that needs archiving for the annals of history so you can show your grand children some day.

"See? Wasn't grammy so grazy? Before I met grampy and settled down at 32 I used to be bad bitch. We just didn't give a shit back then. Oh em gee look at these 2 dozen pictures of me wasted with my besties holding red solo cups and playing peer pong. You kids are too young to remember 'YOLO' it was a shit show."

Have to use it to manage various small biz marketing shit, but other than that I don't touch FB anymore, just log in to see notifications for important stuff, otherwise I never read anything at all.

Deactivated my personal FB two weeks ago and don't miss it even a little. "Staying in touch" with people I don't actually care about became a chore and a complete waste of time. It was just scrolling through a bunch of inane, irrelevant, blue-pill and go-grrl BS every day.

I do have to maintain an account to manage my company's FB page, and that has become borderline painful, to the point where I just hired a part-timer to manage the company's social media interactions on a day-to-day basis. Naturally, it's a woman.

I've been gone from it for a couple years.

Once you have been out long enough people figure it out and just text you invites and info. Works much better for me.

I did actually have a couple friends who were not seeing eye to eye on a few things- one of them text me one day accusing me of blocking him and taking the other friend's side. He was pretty ashamed at his pettiness when I interrupted his bashing of me by telling him I no longer had an account. Kinda interesting to see people's true colors when shit allegedly hits the fan.

^^How many of you guys are not on instagram as well? I am very, very close to deleting my facebook, instagram and linkedin accounts.

I still use facebook (to keep in touch with distant friends/family and I may need their help for something in the future), instagram (to game girls).
