While the NY Times is generally the feminist and mangina newspaper of record, their columnist Nick Kristof still stands out as a fanatical white-knight obsessed with spreading lies about "human trafficking" and "sex slavery" in the US and elsewhere.

In this column published yesterday, he lovingly recounts the details of a "sting" in which undercover cops in Chicago entrap, arrest and humiliate "johns" who are looking to pay a little cash to get some:

A female undercover officer posing as a prostitute is with a would-be customer in an adjacent room, and she has pushed a secret button indicating that they should charge in to make the arrest.

The officers shove at the door connecting the rooms, but somehow it has become locked. They can’t get in. The undercover officer is stuck with her customer. Tension soars. Curses reverberate. A million fears surge.

Then, suddenly, the door frees and the police officers rush in and arrest a graying 64-year-old man, Michael. His smugness shatters and turns to bewilderment and shock as police officers handcuff his hands behind his back.

Yeah Nick, it's really great to see the "smugness" of a 64 year old dude "shattered" by having to deal with a bunch of white-knighting meathead cops and "undercover" dykes, instead of being able to commit the "unspeakable crime" of paying to fuck some ho.

The rest of the column mostly deals with spreading the usual lies about trafficking and propagandizing for the infamous "Swedish model" of arresting "johns" to stop prostitution.

At the end, Nick can't help but add a few more relishing notes about the humiliation inflicted on these "johns":

Can you imagine deciding to spend some cash to fuck some Backpage whore in the Windy City, and instead finding yourself being forced by meatheads and dykes to sit and watch a deranged propaganda video about "the risks of prostitution"? I really wonder what goes through the minds of these dudes -- I hope their thoughts in response to this are not altogether peaceful. They shouldn't be.

The whole column is an interesting study in how easily the usual do-goodery of fanatical white knights turns to sadistic misandry and delight at the humiliation of normal men. The white-knight starts by affecting to love the "trafficked underage sex slave" but the problem is that this creature is mostly a mythical one. It's hard to sustain a love for this elusive victim, and so much easier to just hate the good old "john", that root of all evil.

That's how it always goes: communist ideologues who start out with a proclaimed love of the abstract proletariat eventually turn their entire attention to the extermination of the bourgeois; white supremacists who begin with the stated aim of nurturing their beloved race soon become consumed with getting rid of the Jews and the Niggers; environmentalist fanatics get bored with Gaia and realize that the real juice is in the evil of "pig capitalists" and oil companies; and white-knights who purport to be the protectors of imagined female victims end up becoming full-time haters of normal men.

I'm smelling an Elliott Spitzer here. Remember how he was crusading against prostitution and then got caught in a sting?

This is a pet topic of Kristof's. He's on about this all the time. And anyone who is that emotionally riled up about this subject is getting off on it in some way. He's shaming these men as a front, to cover up his own feelings of excitement.

As annoying as Gawker can be, they did point out that Kristof's home paper owns About.com, which runs escort ads. Brietbart digs deeper into the subject. (I just found an insightful takedown of him at this blog too. They call what he does "badvocacy" -- haha.)

When I was editor of my college paper, some guy I knew stole our photography equipment and was using it to photograph sports games. I got the best looking woman on the staff to go to a game and flirt with him and surreptitiously get the serial numbers of the equipment. They matched up. Just a little joke at the expense of the johns... why not, right?

I've been thinking the same thing about this guy for a long time, but my conjecture is he likes them young.

Yes, Kristof is obsessed with "underage sex slaves" and has been going to all corners of the world to try to find and "rescue" them. He constantly repeats the usual lies about their prevalence here and there an everywhere.

And yeah, there is probably an element of sexual excitement involved in this, but unfortunately for him he's probably too much of a rigid do-gooder ideologue to even accept a hot girl propositioning him in real life. I think it's a different type than Spitzer.

I know not everyone likes cops here, but font generalize they are meathead white knights. They just have orders from above and are just doing their job. It just occurred to me that Internet porn might have been indirectly responsible for the human trafficking hysteria.

Back in the 1980s and early '90s, the do-gooders were claiming porn led to violence against women, oppression, etc. So they kept busy trying to get girly mags removed from convenience stores and trying to censor Larry Flint, among other things.

When the Internet made porn as ubiquitous as oxygen and the end result was LESS rape, these people knew they were beat.

What to do?

PS: If you go and look at retro '80s porn now, you really wonder what got these people so upset. Big hair? Cheesy music? Yes. Very true. The unintended consequences of human crusading.

For a perfect example of this, think of the actual crusades.

The first crusade was a cry for help from the Byzantine empire, who had been suffering major causalities against their Islamic aggressors.

The second crusade was like the first, but with a bit more adventurism.

The third crusade had no stated purpose or goal.

The fourth crusade was started by a Byzantine general who believed he deserved to be on the throne of Constantinople and promised great rewards from any European who would help him invade the city and put him on the throne.
At the very first battle, the Byzantine general was killed and a huge European army was left at the doorstep of Constantinople. Another crusader who was second in charge then rallied the troops to continue the invasion, and what ended up happening was one of the worst disasters in Western Civilization.

So, what started out as an effort to save Christianity, ended up dealing a mortal deathblow to Christianity in the Middle East, and sent Middle Eastern Christianity on a death spiral that has lasted until this day.

See how these unintended consequences of movements spiral out of control in random and violent directions? And it's happened so many times throughout history. There must be some kind of flaw in the human psyche which causes it.

DoBA, that's a reasonable argument about internet porn but I wouldn't count on it being immune forever, either. The UK is leading the way as it is in so many other things, in criminalizing the viewing of "violent" internet porn, even if all the "violence" is obviously simulated by consenting adult actors (as it is in 99.999... % of the cases).

The "trafficking" hysteria is convenient for a number of purposes. It is a constant goal of feminists to deprive normal beta males of any sexual outlet except that which is provided in relationships with age-appropriate hags. It cannot be permitted for an older guy to pay for some relief from this servitude by fucking a younger whore.

The other purpose of this is that it allows NGOs and other "progressive" sleaze to oversee the imposition of feminism on certain third world societies under the guise of "combating sex slavery". There are people in the State Department who are making this a key part of US foreign policy in these countries. And so on.

There is also a particular quasi-religious fervor aroused by the idea of protecting the innocent, whether it's "underage slaves" or animals (in a different context) because at a time when nihilism is the dominant philosophy, there is a special premium on the perceived innocence of creatures that are not aware of the necessary truth of "meaninglessness" and therefore offer some relief from it to those who are. But that is a more complex subject.

Yep - internet porn is the next thing they will go after.

Things got a bit weird in the UK about a year ago.

The prime minister, David Cameron, was talking about making pornography something that you had to 'opt in' to when you signed up with an internet supplier.

People assumed this was David Cameron's idea. But in fact it was something the internet companies were going to do anyway - and Cameron jumped on the bandwagon in order to try and steal the credit for an easy political gain. One of the internet companies said they were not goin to sign up to the voluntary proposals the rest of the companies had come up with. And that made Cameron look weak since he was caught out pretending he had the power to do something that he didn't.

It kind of backfired on him.

Still - the proposals went through. And now if you sign up to an internet supplier (as I did recently after a house move) you will be asked if you want to opt out of getting access to adult sites.

I have never concentrated so much on clicking the correct button.



But it is an issue which will keep coming back.

Yeah, but I unfortunately don't think some poor semiliterate john just trying to get a little taste of ass is going to be streetwise enough to ask for naked pics first. Whoever does and stymies the cops, God bless him, truly.

As far as the car, like others have said, they're counting on the john not to complain or make any noise since the last thing he wants is more attention. When it comes to this sex stuff, whether it's "sex offenders" being detained after they've already served their time or on a small scale this illegal seizure of property, it's anything goes. No one wants to defend a "sex offender" or even a run of the mill "john".

This is very selectively enforced. A few thoughts:

1). As many have said, having sex on camera for money is a form of prostitution. Why is this allowed?

2). Why is a stay-at-home wife (or girlfriend) not considered a prostitute, since she's having sex with a man for money, food, and board? This seems like a more heinous crime since it's long term. And if it's not a monetary transaction, why do we have alimony?
