Listened to it yesterday. I just started IF so it was great to hear that it can work. And don't be a bug, those were the two themes that I took away!

About supplements
1) Can you be taking too many vitamins and supplements that it taxes your body too much from processing all of them?
2) Best supplements for fat? IF is working but I just want to get some more definition and a bit faster if possible - I started reading about VPX Meltdown after listening to your podcast.
3) Do you really need to take BCAAs if you are doing fasted lifting? I read a few places it helps with muscle preservation.

Thanks, really digging the podcasts.

Q: What are the basics of men's daily vitamins + supplements to take for a man entering his 30s.

Brands you recommend etc,

I take a basic multiple-vitamin now, but feel it's lacking.

Thanks Mike!

Is there something to take in order for your vitamins to get properly absorbed and digested? I want to get the most out of the vitamins I take.

Also, what do you make out of the recent report that Omega 3 fish oil supplements can be harmful for men?

Thanks.

What supplements and practices do you recommend for optimal cognitive performance?

How important is workout (pre/post/during) nutrition, if at all? If important, what are your recommendations?

You answered the second question here in this post:
http://dangerandplay.com/2012/06/21/supp...pplements/

However, I'm curious if Jay thinks otherwise. Also got the idea for the cognitive boost supplements from that post.

Mike I also had no idea about this until I opened this thread. It's good stuff and I'm planning to continue reading and listening to your stuff.

I liked the piece about treating others well and being a resource to THEM. It fits my personality and will add value to my lifestyle.

The latest episode was excellent, lots of straightforward advice.

Another big fan of Quest bars here, they really do get the digestive system going.

We just did a second personal finance for men podcast.

This was a sequel (we took on reader questions and added some additional material) to our first personal finance podcast for men.

Our other podcasts are here:

http://dangerandplay.com/hear-truth/

As always, the shows depend on reader/listener input.

Here is how we do most of our podcasts:
1. Mike checks email/blog comments.
2. Forwards them to J.
3. Sit down and answer questions.
4. Go lift.

So the more questions you have, the more podcasts you'll get.

Loving the podcast.

One request: you've referenced state control several times, how you can will yourself into a better mood. I'd love to hear your take on that at length, how you do it, how you develop that ability, and any resources you recommend on it. Just hearing you discuss it briefly has been an aid - when I get in a bad mood I start thinking of what you said, and saying to myself something like "Am I going to be a pussy and let myself feel like shit, or am I going to man up and not let trivia get the best of me."

I listened to the personal finance one and wasn't too impressed...good information but not too much I've read elsewhere...but the intermittent fasting podcast blew me away. Great information, presentation, and everything flowed so well. I like how you have some podcasts that are just a resource of information: half hour bits about a certain topic, or certain guest, and then that's a wrap. I do enjoy CMQ's podcast too, but sometimes it's nice to have a half hour podcast about something I'm wondering about instead of a whole hour show that will cover a wide variety of topics.

Also thanks for putting it on SoundCloud, definitely a great way to listen on my end. I can easily listen on phone, computer, or download it if needed. I will definitely be keeping up with this podcast. Thanks!

Thank you.

I did an exercise with Pete during my interview with him. Not sure where it was in the podcast, though, as it's not broken down.

The part on state starts at the 20 minute market.

If you guys listen to that state podcast, let me know what you think.

I can do a separate one going into more detail and showing more exercises.

Just let me know what your questions are and what you'd like to see me cover.

How to be more aggressive? More calm?

State covers the full range of feelings and emotions.

Mike, good stuff, I just checked out your personal finance one yesterday while on public transport.

Only issue is that on my device and headphones, with bus noises, I really couldn't hear it too well. I don't know if this is something simple to fix, ie in your recording software just increase the decibel level or go with an envelope filter and try to bring it up.

Good info though. I am considering long-term investments in real estate in Latin America so it was some good food for thought.

^ Yep. The audio quality is not what it needs to be. I am a content producer and not a tech guy.

I do everything for my blog on my own. Maybe a mistake, but I have been let down by too many people in the past who over promise and under deliver.

So I am taking action and posting the podcasts now rather than not posting them. "Never let best become the enemy of good."

The quality is improving, but it is a work in progress.

Basically, as I get better the product sound quality will improve.

Thanks for listening.

I listened to the state podcast about a week ago and it has already helped me out a lot, but I still think you should do a separate one on state. I would be interested to hear how you started incorporating this when you were younger, and the different evolutions you have went through with it.

I read a post you did about your 20's where you listened to classical music to boost state, and it would be cool to hear more examples like that.

Also, how diet plays into state, like what foods to avoid or what vitamins will help keep your adrenaline regulated.

I basically just want to be the most calm dude on the block.

Thanks Mike.

Thank you for making this post: How to Find Legit Friends: The Ten Year Test

This post has helped me understand how to deepen my friendships and make them last.

I'd be interested to hear more stuff on state Mike.
Do you have different anchors for each of your desired states? Do you do any chaining anchors exercises when your current state is far from the state you want to be in?

As always, great podcasts, just got through the one on nutrition which was gold.
