Rick & Morty: A Modern Tale Of An Alcoholic And An Incipient Beta

It’s for the same reason these people love Game of Thrones and 50 Shades. At a deep level they understand how much of our worldview is actually correct and The fictional context is an outlet that’s both socially acceptable and less scary than admitting these things are actually real.

And now they ordered 70 more episodes of Rick and Morty. I like the show, but boy is one of the creators a raving radical leftie, cuck and male feminist.

He pretends to be.

If you've spent enough time in various subcultures, you learn to sense the moment something has lost its cool cachet: where you'd no longer gain any positive value with a girl by being associated with it or - particularly - introducing her into it.

You can spot the moment coming when you see a signal of media approval labeling something as being safe for the masses, which is when you should move on: before they arrive in droves and make it embarrassing to be associated with.

Harmon's announcement of adding female writers to the staff was that moment. Every embarrassing thing that happened since, was Normie Arrival.

In my younger days, I was very good at reading the weather that way. You could tell when a band had gotten as far as it was going to get and would never break through, or when a band had achieved Normie Approval at the cost of their core audience, failing to understand the former is most-often transitory in nature.

I'll give Harmon credit: he signed the deal at just the right time, when the culture is starting to both drift away and shift against the show, but before the backlash really hits.

In music terms - it's REM signing an 80 million, five album deal with Warner Brothers in 1996 after two years of overexposure based around touring a bad album, right before their sales tank for their next six albums.

It's the biggest show at Adult Swim and it has reached an ever greater cult status - tendency likely rising.

People were already getting nervous that the show has not been renewed. But it turned out that he likely negotiated hard and they instantly signed for 7 more seasons. There is enormous merchandise value to be made from this if they do it right.

The show has still quite good ideas - if they don't start pandering to the SJWs and women, then it can still be good.

Such ideas would never ever grace the minds of male feminists and women:

Plus the character of Rick is clearly Alpha - even if a destructive postmodernist nihilist way.

If you compare it to characters seen in the Simpsons or Family Guy/American Dad, then Rick and Morty is by far more interesting and novel. Compared to the other supposedly adult cartoon shows this is genius work. In addition many of the others like the Simpsons have devolved into unbearable SJW shitfests that are little more than postmodernist propaganda by the genderfluids.

^ Rick's not Alpha. He's what a Gamma Male thinks an Alpha is: a) the smartest guy in the room; and b) always right; whom c) simultaneously-offends everyone because they can't handle his 'realtalk' whilst - and note the Gamma capacity for doublethink here - also being king of the party. Note the genius displayed is of ultra-specific subcultural knowledge - Rick knows all the geek pop culture references! - of little interest to those beyond what was traditionally a social-loser class that knew it was a social loser class, and, with the introduction of Social Justice Millennials to the mix, is still a social-loser class too narcissistic to be aware that it's becoming even bigger losers.

Gammas are sort of reaching for their capacity to become Sigmas - forgetting that the Sigma's tendency to push social boundaries succeeds due to their genuine charm whilst doing so.

But they don't really know what Alpha is, they just long deeply for it:

a) Alpha's can be intelligent OR as dumb as a rock, they get laid either way.

b) The social circle doesn't cares when the Alpha is wrong, including the Alpha at the centre of it. It's the Gamma who obsesses over proving that the Alpha is wrong, because he wishes he was the centre, not understanding that no-one cares.

c) Sigmas and Gammas deliberately-provoke in conversation, Alphas carelessly-provoke in conversation, until there's a direct challenge. Sigma provocation is largely for their own amusement, or to privately-amuse a smaller group within the social circle who is in on the joke. Gamma provocation is always a failing attempt to steal control of the social circle from those who actually control it. Alpha provocation is whatever the alpha genuinely thinks.

I stumbled into some site called Quora, researching Hyssop the other night. There was a user answering a question someone had asked, and the tone was so Gamma, I just had to read more. He had a list of his accomplishments in his profile, and was answering his own questions about himself, like "Why are you such an arsehole in your answers?" Short version: "People don't recognise my obviously-superior intellect and it's their problem if they can't handle my realtalk." He then explained how much he 'blocks' the dumb.

According to the stats, in three years, he'd answered something like 30,000 Quora questions. Because, apparently, that's what a Social Successful Genius Intellect does.

I don't know. My gut tells me it doesn't matter what it currently seems to be, it's about what it's destined to turn into. Last season was the Normie Influx point. It seems to have picked up about 360,000 extra viewers for the season as compared to season two. If those 360,000 extra people are toxic and embarrassing enough that association with it becomes a social stigma, you might see an increase for the next season, then a trailing off.

The original fans are already making memes about the new fanbase. Both the critical overhype backlash and Normie Fatigue is inevitable: particularly as the Geek Culture Bubble is bursting. Note the severe worldwide underperformance of say, the last Star Wars, Tomb Raider (which I didn't know had even come out and didn't even break even) and Ready Player One, (another I know all the geek pop culture references! celebration).

Remember Emo? The culture is already shifting away from Geek. The Vice Writer seems to understand that much, whilst not understanding that Fourth Wave Feminism is similarly on its way out.

^ I though of a better illustration: remember how the retarded actions of Spencer and the TRS crowd at Charlottesville made the Alt-Right Brand deeply-toxic to those who were originally-associated with it - driving them out, and the wider audience who were showing a growing interest in it - driving them towards the safer Alt-Lite Brand?

Ask yourself if you want a hot girl knowing you're associated with Rick and Morty in even a casual way.

You’re know what I just realized? The reason shit like ready player one, Rick and Morty, and the whole “Very high IQ” crowd resonate is blindingly obvious: They’re on the same frequency so of course they resonate.

What am I actually getting at?

All of them, and to a YUUUGE extent the entire soyboy culture, think that being able to recognize obscure references and knowing random “facts” is the same thing as actual intelligence. It’s definitely not. I’ve known more than a few people who did great at schools because they could memorized a lot of information but were too lacking in critical thinking skills to ever apply that knowledge practically....or to be fair some had the mental capability and had just had the capacity’s for critical thinking trained out of them by the time I knew them.

Good take AB -

Rick has the Sigma characteristics of getting laid easily, albeit it's never clear how he actually gets laid/seduces women.

Also the times where Morty has a change personality and gets laid like gangbusters is also an indicator that the writers don't know what really works with women.

In addition Rick is always the life of the party for some strange reason while being mostly rough with everyone - so the Alpha characteristic of being the center of attention.

So yeah - it seems like a facsimile of Alpha/Sigma. If such a Rick existed in real life getting laid easy and being the center of every party then he would be Alpha, but such a person does not exist - cannot think of anyone who combines those characteristics. The closest thing would be a former Gamma who learned Game and started fucking hundreds of girls after many approaches. But the thing is this - that guy became Sigma and is very seductive and effective with women. He is still gruff with men, but his learned charisma has become reality and he actually made the transformation.

-------------------

As for the nerd culture and the fanbase - yes a brand can be tarnished by who is associated with it. Don't know if Rick and Morty has reached that stage yet. The nerd-culture can be strong and profitable even if no women like it. Think about Star Wars - men spent thousands of dollars on merchandise even if it was a pussy repellent. Even the prequels did not quell their enthusiasm. It is only now that some super-nerds are selling their collections because the SJWs and fake-geek-women have moved into the brand and destroyed it. Now the nerds feel ashamed for associating themselves with Star Wars. Rick and Morty isn't there yet - maybe if the creators destroy even the superficial Alpha/Sigma characteristics and turn the men all into Betas/Gammas and SJWs, then it will be going to shit.

As for the Alt-Right - yeah - became too toxic with the Hailgate and night marches. What you absolutely don't want to have with any White-advocacy group is to appear Neonazi. Only the Jared Taylor approach of the polite Western gentleman can get the normies on your side breaking through the postmodernist guilt-ridden conditioning.

If nothing else, I'd say as long as there is deranged behaviour to be ridiculed, pointless traditions to be dismissed & petty social ideals to be mocked.
There should be viable material for the core writers to continue producing savvy & clever content.

Now, should the writing staff themselves become too deranged, pointless & petty; sure, the show will definitely lose it's clout.

Might be an ironic side benefit to the long contract negotiations, that the worst of Trump Derangement Syndrome should have passed & by the time they start writing again, they should be able to focus on the show.
Not self-induced & deranged social commentary.

Should being the operative word...

I've watched Rick and Morty on youtube and I enjoy it. It hits the same vein some cartoons did in my childhood, like Ren and Stimpy.

The only problem these days is the whole thing is surrounded by soyboy swaggins on reddit where they dissect every damn thing about it.

This is a cartoon where Hep B gets eaten by Hep C in a homeless guys body who has a theme park inside him and gives the thumbs up.

The most ironic thing is the prototype for Rick and Morty was called the Adventures of Doc and Mharti by the creators, a short cartoon that had the same characters but doing Back to the Future enough to not get sued. It invovled Doc and Mharti doing time travel stuff, but invovled Mharti licking Doc's balls and jerking him off to save the day. The SJW pandering and degeneracy was already there, they just decided to do it in Season 3 to be with the cool kids.

Some fat girl with a nose piercing opened me at the fruit and veg market. She saw me carrying Okra, and she asked me what do you use it in, and the best way to cook it. By the time I'd walked her through Bamya, Bhindi and was starting on Gumbo, her boyfriend schlubbed up - completely soy, unable to meet my eyes - which was then when she finally mentioned his existence, and said, in front of him "He's not very adventurous."

He was wearing this hoodie:

I quickly took my leave before he told me about 'the thinking man's fetish'.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Justin Roiland is a pedo.

So to bump this one...

I actually think the older show "Venture Brothers" is better in a lot of ways.

Bad thing first: the show gets up its own ass quite a bit with the old Hannah Barbara cartoon world tropes. Some of the weirdness is hilarious (like Dr. Girlfriend's voice) and other parts are just stupid. I suspect a lot of the humor is kind of hit or miss with what people will find funny.

That said the writers of that show understand male social hierarchies much better. Rusty and The Monarch are both gamma personalities but express it in very different ways: Rusty tends to try to tear down the achievements of everyone else he comes into contact with who actually is successful, and the Monarch with delusions of grandeur and pomposity.

b) The social circle doesn't cares when the Alpha is wrong, including the Alpha at the centre of it. It's the Gamma who obsesses over proving that the Alpha is wrong, because he wishes he was the centre, not understanding that no-one cares.

Sigma provocation is largely for their own amusement, or to privately-amuse a smaller group within the social circle who is in on the joke. Gamma provocation is always a failing attempt to steal control of the social circle from those who actually control it. Alpha provocation is whatever the alpha genuinely thinks.

Both of those behaviors are on full display with Rusty and feature prominently into his personality. He very frequently attempts to prove that the actual Alphas he encounters are wrong and attempts to deliberately provoke in order to disrupt occasions where other people have the social spotlight.

There's an actual Alpha male in Brock Samson, who controls the frame of almost every situation he's in.

It's also got a more acute awareness of female behavior. There's multiple parts of the first two seasons where Dr. Girlfriend loses interest the moment the dude she's with begins exhibiting weakness and losing frame, and there's a few scenes where you can see attempts to impress her rapidly turning her off.

I suspect part of that is that the show is a product of a slightly older pop-culture era: it's from circa 2008 and onwards where SJW-ism hadn't really began to take hold in that part of the culture and a lot of what was found there thrived on being offensive and shocking.

Never understood the appeal of the show, and how crazy fans of the show are so attracted to it.

Granted, the only show I liked on Adult Swim was Million Dollar Extreme presents World Peace.

I'd be very surprised if the contract with Adult Swim for the next ~70 episodes goes ahead now, after exposure of Dan Harmon's "Daryl" video.

& for those that don't want their day ruined, save yourself the sight of watching Dan Harmon take off his pants & rape a toy baby doll...
