Yeah, Downtown is where it's at but since guys were talking about North Charleston, etc. and since that's where I'm from, I wanted to drop some data on the surrounding area. Also, Mt. Pleasant has some very good restaurants and you have to go through Mt. P or JI to get to the beach anyways.

Wet Willies isn't great but you're not going to find $3 top shelf liquor pretty much anywhere else. Just finding $3 house tequila or bourbon is tough. I'll stop through and knock down a shot or a quick drink if I'm in the area and slide out.

With that whole string of bars burning down there's not really much else going on right there anymore.

It may not be the same on the forum..but charleston also has a reputation of being a good honest wholesome town.

This doesn't mean there are a bunch of young jet setters all around coming to visit.
This rank comes from older tourist. Charleston is full of sights and architecture. But for the most part it's a lot of older retires and families that come for the beach.
The other bulk of tourist are group parties. Bachelorette parties for the most part.
I rarely see bachelor parties downtown..all those drunk dudes are hitting the strip clubs.
They aren't gonna have game to begin with. And if they are ever caught downtown..I always see them with the bachelorette a anyway.
All these groups have large sums of money to drop on their weekends or week long vacations. It's not maintainable.

I've picked off bachelorette parties once or twice. They usually aren't worth it cause they too are heading to strip clubs or sticking together hardcore.

With that Said...charleston has very little diversity when it comes to the downtown area.
It's all white.
You will see very very few attractive black girls or Spanish girls around here. The demographic statistics may say otherwise..but the black population is normally nowhere downtown because of the whole gentrification thing. Unless of course you're into hood rats.

honestly.I still can't tell anyone about where to stay here. It's a still a historic tourist town. hotels in the downtown area are expensive as fuck(but extremely nice)

now you could move towards the James island area.which might be a ten 15 minute drive. and find a cheaper place.

from their, your best game area becomes a small group of bars in area called Avondale.
the crowd is usually a little older.not fresh college kids. 23-30s.
I've only been to a couple of the bars here.They are all dive bars. no clubs. I can't give a bunch of detail just yet.

now that it's getting warm again you might be about to rent a host or hotel hear or on folly beach. I've heard good word from folly beach bars. But I never go out there..cause I don't wanna drive back. most people I know out there live on the beach or close. logistics would be bad for me.

If you are looking to go low end check out Not so Hostel in Downtown Charleston. You can share a room for cheap or get a private room for a little more and its much cheaper then the high end spots. Also a decent place to meet other travelers.

I see both sides of the coin. You'll find some of the best looking white American women in this country, but you'll also have to put up with quite a few cuntish and privileged attitudes that have been passed down from southern trophy mamas.

I understand where legend is coming from. Being the cocky, fun, and loud 'yankee' won't get you far here, and I grew up in NYC so I had to tone it down. It's more about being an all around nice guy (but not square), and showing value, whether that be job, travel, money, etc. southern women past college want to start showing society that they're off the cock carousel and looking to lock down a high-society fella. The city doesn't offer as many men on the same level for women between 23-30. You got to play that angle, at least in my experience.

Charleston is good for me for a few weeks, it's a small city and I start to feel like I need to check something else out. But then when I do come back from a place like DC, hit up the rooftop at Vendue on a busy Fri/Sat, I'm straining to catch every pretty face in the place. There's at least three future trophy wives for every chump.

Charleston tends to impress visually because of the high number of better than average looking girls that come out to drink in groups on market and king street on weekends. They do dress up nicely but my experience is that social circle is huge and under 24 age wise is difficult especially if you are over 30. Logistics are a real problem if you don't live locally since hotels are $250+. Much better in my opinion if you are staying in a hotel is to go to Mt Pleasant and check out Red, Shelter and other spots where the girls live in apartments and not on campus. With that said online game might be a goldmine.

this is a long post, if you want skip to the bottom, i put my data sheet down there.

Let me start from the beginning. I came here with expectations that were way too high. It’s kinda hard not to based on how everyone not only rants and raves all over America about Charleston, but this thread made it appear as if it was a 7-1 ratio of girls to guy, all of the girls being 8’s and 9’s and huge sluts. The thing where ppl get confused is that it is the college of Charleston has the ratio which is 2 or 3 to 1. But the city itself is no different than any other city… maybe a little better but typically at any bar it is a 50-50 ratio and gets worst as the night goes on.

I came here for my interview and was walking down king street and ended up going to king street grill for dinner. Some girl sat next to me and we struck up a convo. she was telling me how she moved here and is going to be a waitress at this restaurant. I tell her im here for the night on an interview and long story short she invites me out for the night. Since my hotel was far away she offered her couch for me. We ended up getting shitfaced and we went back to her place and I fucked the shit outta her. I fell in love with the place as we had a ball that night and even though I was hungover as fuck I aced my interview and flew out two weeks later for my job. I thought I found paradise.

Theres always shit going on here and you can have a fucking ball in Charleston. it’s a beautiful city and very historic. theres two ways getting laid and having a fun time. One is to actually go to school there and the other is to work at an upscale restaurant as a bartender or such. There are no jobs in Charleston, it’s the tourist industry and that’s it. I feel like I went back in time to the 90’s because they are behind in everything. They have no corporate infrastructure, they have boeing, bosch, Mercedes and maybe one or two other big companies here that literally have developed Charleston from the ground and helped get out a ton of the rif raf. Theres maybe 5 small tech companies called blackbaud, benefit focus and I forget the others. This town has a hard good ole boys presence. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Literally the original 12 families still run and own everything in this city, its crazy! The limehouses for example have a bridge, road named after them, own a construction company, produce, some of firefly sweet tea, real estate and other businesses and are extremely rich. Then you have everyone else who is just a worker bee. The wealth is passed down generation to generation and its hard to get a piece of it. Theres all the necessities for jobs; automobiles, real estate, construction, shipping, grocery stores and of course restaurants and bars but that’s about it. The bartenders make the most money in this city besides doctors and lawyers. This is great for people who are visiting because theres always shit to do during the week. Its ridiculous how many drinking activities there are all the time. The first thing you do when you get here is grab a copy of the Charleston city paper or go online cus it goes fast. People here never want to grow up. They try to work as little as possible to pay rent, gas, food and spend as much time at the beach. Theres no ambition and people drink any chance they get. The school system is 43rd in the country and the tradition and values are to get married and have kids by theyre 25. Ive met so many girls that are 23 and have been married and divorced already or already have kids.

That being said the whole town is all about status and who can dress nicer and drive a better car. The problem is people live way above their means and live paycheck to paycheck. They lease bmw’s and lexus’s. people are very pretentious and stuck up. Girls expect to be wined and dined. You either get a one night stand or you take them out on a really expensive date… I can’t afford that. Its almost a southern thing that the women don’t work and the men provide them everything. Theres people that are 22 and 23 driving 50k cars cus mommy and daddy bought it for them or they lease it. The girls here only care about men that have money. They’re looking for a guy to marry that will be an atm machine for them and they’ll never have to work again. They’re also very stuck up and think they’re the shit. I honestly have to force myself to talk to them cus they’re so fucking dumb and have no personality. Its really not enjoyable.

I went on spring break at pcb and happened to have the same break as southern schools and after meeting southern ppl I fell in love and wanted ot move down south after graduation. After doing some research I picked Charleston. I was fortunate to get a good job working for #3 liquor distributor in the country and at 23 years old, im the youngest one working for the company by 8 yrs In the state of south Carolina. I think that’s one of my problems why I don’t meet anyone through work because theyre all in relationships or don’t go out and its extremely cliquey here. That’s how most of the ppl hook up here. You either have classes with them and finally meet at the bar or you have mutual friends that you meet through. I’m also extremely northern and people here hate northerners. Its funny because ive met a ton of ppl who get mad that im a northerner from boston who moved down here yet they are from NY, RI and other northern states originally but since they’ve lived here for 3 years they’re all of sudden “southern”.

The guys here are the softest individuals ive ever met before in my life. They don’t work out, a lot of them have the “dad bod” and are skinny and tall and wear chubbies…. Yet girls love that shit here! Every alpha I’ve met, mostly at the gym, hates it here because everyone is such a pussy that its hard to meet friends to get into social circles. Girls don’t really like it either. I myself am a stocky guy who lifts (I look like a linebacker) and consider myself a masculine man. i have never had a harder time meeting guys to go out with so I usually just roll solo. The problem with rolling solo is that these girls always roll in groups of 3 or more. I’m extremely confident and will approach any girl. So I usually open sets of 4 or 5 girls by myself. I’m very outgoing and coming from a boston Italian family I get somewhat loud and speak with a lot of body language. Up north this works great as I use the whole cocky funny/negging confident guy, life of the party routine. I mean im 23 and have slept with 90 girls so im doing something right.

Basically everything in game I’ve learned has been for northern girls so I’ve had to re learn game coming down here. Southern girls are very fragile and sensitive and don’t respond good to negging or cocky funny. They like respectable, nice guys. Coming from the north we are very blunt, forward and sarcastic. They get offended extremely easy. I also have a boston accent and northerners have a horrible stigma here as obnoxious assholes. Ive had girls literally tell me that I dress right, im good looking, but im a northerner and that ruins everything. Its so fucking stupid. Southern ppl are fake as fuck, nice to your face and talk shit behind your back. I live with two girls now and they have given me pointers and basically told me that its weird for a guy to come up and approach all by themselves and that my personality comes off strong because im so outgoing and personable. People are very reserved and laid back. Its very frustrating.

25 people move here a day so lines for the bars get pretty fierce and housing is expensive. Job market sucks and traffic is retarded at times cus the highway system sucks. I also hear locals telling me that Charleston is changing more and more every year because so many people are moving here.

Another bad thing about the area is that girls here get away with murder. I was at a bar and this disgusting girl was drunk talking about how she likes it in the ass. I of course thought it was a good idea to film her saying this. She caught me and punched me in the face. I didn’t do anything but bitch her out because I would have been arrested and charged and she would have gotten away scotch free. I also got arrested for disorderly conduct cus I was talking to a girl and apparently her friend didn’t’ like this and started hitting me. I started yelling at her asking her who the fuck she thought she was and that she can’t just put her hands on people for no reason. Of course a cop sees an innocent southern girl getting yelled at and then starts yelling at me. I yell back and tell the cop to fuck off and get arrested… that was stupid of me, but I tell the cop I want to press assult charges and the cop says the girl mysteriously disappeared. Ive also been kicked out of a bar because I brushed against a girl and she claimed I grabbed her ass so even though the bouncer didn’t see I got kicked out. My lawyer said that Charleston cops arrest first and ask questions later. Cost me $1500 bucks. They don’t want downtown to be another bourbon street and want to keep the historical tradition down there so they arrest everyone… so if you go dt be careful. They hate tourists but love their money. I try to stay away now.

The cops here fucking suck. Ive never received a ticket before in my life til I got here and I got so many I almost lost my license. They have the most accidents of anywhere in the u.s. so the cops think that giving out tickets will make the drivers better over night. Also no one can drive in rain. Ive never seen so many accidents in my life. They suck at driving.

The city itself is very expensive for the south especially for the wages. You don’t come here to make money, you come once youre rich and then you can ball the fuck out. If you really want to get laid, get a yacht or make it rain at the bars and girls will be all over you. I just can’t afford to do that. I just graduated college last year and don’t have the funds. I feel like everything happens for a reason and im kinda glad I don’t like the city because I would be broke my whole life living paycheck to paycheck. Charleston is very hard to get into the circles it takes a long time… some ppl have said sometimes a couple years, but once youre in, youre in. I can see myself loving this city, but honestly my whole life doesn’t revolve around pussy. As much as I love it, I wanna make money and focus on my carreer that’s why im getting out. I think this place would be great for a little adventure, but takes some time to understand and learn how it works so you need atleast a week or two here.

Another thing is how liberal the city is. There are tons of gays. I was actually hooking up with one girl who told me her roommate, who happens to be a gay guy, brings back more straight dudes then she does. These guys here are almost half gay or sexually curious. Its fucking weird. Ive also had multiple guys try to hit on me that I would have never thought were gay.

I'm sure you could kill it here but honestly I get annoyed talking to these girls. They're fucking dumb as shit, have no personality and are looking for a guy to be their atm machine. There's lots of bangable girls here but as a northerner I face a lot of challenges, especially not having a wing. If you have a lot of money and aren't shy to wine and dine and make it rain I think you'll do alright. It's just not for me I wanna make money and focus on my career and not be a beach bum and get pussy on the weekends. It's real hard when the stigma against northerners is so bad. Maybe your experience will be different.

I think older guys do better as well. It's more muture drinking not clubbing. They try to preserve the historic theme of the town and when I go out and drink I like to party and get wild. I think a guy in his late 20s or early 30’s would kill it.

Also aliblahba went to north charleston when he came here, not downtown Charleston which is night and day. The people are more chill but also its very hit or miss as theres not much to do and its more trashy. Lots of crime, it was top 10 homicide for years and believe still is.
I was dying to meet source code but it never happened. He said he didn't go out at night, but because of my job I can only run night game. Would have loved to see what kind of game he ran but at the same time I feel he has been here for a while and ran social circle game.
That being said its not like I'm not getting laid. I got 9 so far, so one a month. The point I'm trying to get across is that it's not like a pussy paradise like the thread makes it seem. for the effort I put in I'm not getting the results I want. One a month isn't good for me. I haven’t really tried day game because I don’t have the time also my strong point is night game. All 9 of my notches were one night stands btw. Im sure daygame works great here too.

Downtown Charleston: king street

(upper king, tons of bars, mynt and trio) and east bay street (nv, rooftop and others)

West Ashley: Avondale

(roost- younger post grad crowd, real chill, triangle- chill bar, voodoo- good crowd of girls kinda lounge like and pearlz)

Mount pleasant: shem creek

(redds ice house- starts early it’s a sick ass boat boat so people drink there all day then they go to shelter. Tavern and table- right next to redds, Shelter- young post grad crowd, fun time here but also tons of locals, lots of good looking girls, black sheep- new bar, has a dj Friday nights which plays club music, its really hit or miss. Triangle- more chill local vibe)

North Charleston: wild wings, wild buffalo saloon and others idk… never went there

Summerville: triangle, montreax… never went to either

Folly beach: this place is pretty fucking fun in the summer, dead in winter. Went there once there was snapperjacks and some other bars I forget. Gronk was just here as well as downtown

I would stay downtown and if had time west Ashley and mount pleasant. East bay is a big tourist spot and west Ashley and mount pleasant is more for locals. Just stick downtown for now, there’s plenty to do.

This is my lineup:

Go to republic and ask for a stamp. Come back later it’ll be a line and a half. Next go to warehouse. Get there early the line starts at like 9 930. There’ll be tons of girls but its small so you’ll run out of talent fast. Walk down king street. Stop by midtown or public house, those are the college bars. Theyre also a huge tease cus the college girls run deep cliques and are with some guys and don’t split up… sometimes its better to skip over these but its just so god damn tempting cus theres so many hot girls in the line. Next go to prohibition, this is a great bar with dancing and an open patio in the back. I always have fun there. You can stay here or keep going, up to you. If youre feeling upscale and are suited down go to stars, halls or cocktail club. This is for the upscale broads, but expect to throw around some cash. If you like hookah go to HoM or tabulli (east bay street). If it’s a Saturday definitely go to fish, they have a live dj otherwise don’t bother. Keep walking down, peek into closed for business, but I usually don’t stop in. now on a slow night you can do all this bar hopping, but if you wanna play it safe you might just wanna pregame at one spot then go straight to mynt or trio. I’ve pulled the majority of my girls from trio, it’s a club and you have to have a key to get in supposedly. I don’t know because I went all winter and the bouncer lets me in and lets me cut the line. This is where the bitch hit me so I haven’t been back since. If you don’t have a girl by 1230pm start bar hopping. Everyone is paired up by then. These are the clubs of downtown (mynt, nv and trio) I think trio is the best.

Now if you wanna hit up NV on east bay you should check out social- its and upscale martini bar, vendue- roofbar, blind tiger- old prohibition bar with two sides, lots of history its pretty cool checking out, tabulli- the hookah bar is right down the street too

Wednesday is dollar drinks at silver dollar- they call this the dirty dollar cus the girls look like prostitutes that go there. Absolute trash. Fun to check out haha

also you guys forgot about party at the point. tons of girls go to these and i would get tons of numbers, but didn't really lead to anywhere. but every friday starting in may- july fourth theres a party at the Charleston harbor resort, which is on the beach. it goes 6-10pm, it was great.

Also oyster roasts are a great way to meet people and tons of girls go. they have live bands and are a blast.

I think I will come back to Charleston eventually as I feel its kicked my ass, but at this point in my life its not for me. Its definitely more mature and for the wealthy, plus I don’t think I belong in the south. I’m gunna come back when im older and have more money and just run train on every girl in vengeance.

That being said if any vets out there think they wanna give Charleston a stab and see if they can crack the code hit me up. If I think you’re a cool guy, I’ll let you stay at my place. This place has been a challenge which has been bitter sweet. Nice post legend. Do you have any info on beaches? Is Folly the only happening beach? Do downtown people drive to folly for the day or is it a weekend get away? Any big festivals when it gets crowded?

Also would it be a good time to visit or does that whole church incident need to further calm down.

Folly is where you wanna go. That's where all the young crowd goes. But don't drink on the beach. You can get fined up to a grand and they're strivcts as fuck. Blues is a hotel/bar there which is always happening. Lager heads is good too. Then there's sullivans and isle of palms. The problem with going to the beach is that you gotta be there by 9 or 10 or you'll be sitting in traffic for hours....it sucks. But sullivans has poes which is supposed to be best burger in charleston and has home team which is a good bar. Isle of palms has windjammer where they have tons of concerts and bikini competitions. Gronk was a judge for one of them.

Yah ppl drive there for the day and might stay for the bars. The festivals would be spoletto or the modeling thing they have. I didn't go to either, they're both over priced but there's always shit going on. Yah the church thing honestly was blown up by the media, everyone kinda went on with their daily lives.

Don't get me wrong there's pussy here to get slayed but for some reason I'm not getting the results I expected. I hear the the bartenders do well but fuck that I'm not trying to do nothing with my life, but getting in the food and bev scene is the way to go.

All I can say is " Welcome to the South" Even though Charleston constantly make top city list. I've always said that Charleston is the closest place you can get living in the "Good ole days"
The couple big families like the Ravenels run the city and the low country.
Just google that family and you can see how they have stepped on the backs of people to make it to the to and stay there.


Some of the things you say, like girls wanting to settle down early.
Isn't really a bad thing. Less time for them to slut it up in Charleston.
I have plenty of friends that swiped up rich girlfriends and are soon to get married.

I actually think.. you didn't do as well, because you're from Boston.
That isn't a hit on people from the north at all.
It's simply because this is the south and girls want a Southern boy.
Southern attitudes don't really mesh as well with Northerners.

Charleston is always opening new bars, they just often have a high turn around rate with the city being so expensive.
Mynt use to be a place I went all the time, and then I remember coming back and Mynt would be dead.
