Charleston Trip Report

I just spent a weekend in Charleston (first time there) and will add my two cents.

OP was right...I had a great time and I think it would be a worthwhile trip for most of the guys on this board, especially given that its relatively cheap and pretty accessible. It's a really cool spot with a laid-back atmosphere that combined your typical beach town with some Southern charm. And most of the people seemed to just want to party and hang out. I could see myself living in a place like Charleston.

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP, there are a ton of girls there. I'd say most of the night spots we went to were 3:2 or even 2:1 girls. They weren't the hottest girls I've seen in the US, but certainly a sizable selection of girls in the 7-8 range and they were generally very approachable.

My crew and I stayed at a house in Folly Beach. This was good and bad. It was good because Folly Beach is super chill. Even being early Spring and the water still being a little too cold for most, on Saturday afternoon the beach had a nice crowd. Even better, all the bars and restaurants in the little Folly Beach town area were pretty crowded all afternoon long with people just drinking beers and wasting away a nice afternoon. Tons of day gaming opportunities here. I snagged a couple of phone numbers but couldn't meet up later and that brings me to the downside of Folly Beach...it is probably 20-30 minutes taxi to Charleston, where most of the night life is. So we went out in Charleston and I couldn't arrange meetups with the girls I had number closed, who were staying in or near Folly Beach. I think that if it were the summer and you were staying in Folly, this wouldn't even be an issue because multiple waiters and waitresses said that the bars there pick up in the summer when people are going to the beach and even this time of the year, they had decent potential.

That being said, its not impossible to work the Charleston-Folly logistics. While we were in Charleston at some bar on Market Street (I can't remember the name but there are a few and they all looked pretty good so I think you can't really miss there), I approached a 5 girl bachelorette party and they hooked on us pretty fast; this was my boy's bachelor party so it was a natural fit. They were staying nearby in Charleston but we managed to snag a huge van outside and convince them to come all the way back to Folly Beach with us. The ensuing late night was pretty crazy and I was going at it with the bachelorette (which didn't do much to alleviate my post-Brazil withdrawal/restore my faith in character of the American woman [Image: wink.gif]) when one of her friends discovered us, freaked out, and called a cab for them all to get out of there. As if she didn't know her friend was a ho-bag prior to that. Please.

Anyways, Charleston is good times. I'm betting Folly Beach in the summer is golden.

A few other random pieces of advice:

California Dreaming Restaurant: The food was mediocre, or at least the sirloing I had. Appetizers were all pretty good though. BUT, the redemption was $2 cocktails all night. This was a Friday, not sure if that's everyday.

Midtown Bar: I don't remember what street this was on, but it had the best ratio and the hottest girls of any of the places we went to. I'd say Wet Willies and Trio are the runner-ups. Both worth checking out. I think all of these are in the same part of Charleston. Good bar-hopping to be had.

Strip Clubs: There are a couple and they are BYOB, which makes for a great place to get bombed with a group of friends either before or after hitting up the nearby bar scene. But beware $20 cover at the one I went to. I am terrible with names and locations.

i was in downtown Charleston a couple of weeks ago for 2 nights and could not believe the talent there. Seriously, it was on par w/the best cities I've ever been to worldwide. Just walking up and down the main strip in downtown Charleston was unbelievable. Hot, thin, white southern girls everywhere. Even the girls I was talking with basically knew it was guys market. Seriously guys, this place is a hidden gem.

Glad you had a good time. Amazingly enough, people in the region sleep on Charleston. Most folks end up in Myrtle or Daytona Beaches. These are hard party destinations with a far worse ratio. I have to work a bit harder having a southern accent, but guys like Naughty Nomad or Houligan Harry would mop up. It's a shame...all those sexy thin blondes and Mixx still hasn't been there. On my radar as well. Perhaps instead of Athens, GA this would be the spot to go to.

I've heard a lot of good things about Charleston, but one thing I noticed from my experience with southern white girls is that they tend to like "preppy Abercrombie & Fitch, captain of the football team" white guys. I wonder how a guy from a different ethnic background (middle eastern, indian, latin, etc.) would be received, or a guy with more of an "urban" style?

I don't really plan on spending too much time on the east coast (esp. the south), but if the situation with the women is that legit it may be worth checking out, in addition to the beaches, good food, architecture, etc... How is the nightlife, I'm assuming it's pretty good for a town of its size, but does it go all year round, seasonal, certain days of the week only ,etc.?

My only concern with Charleston is that the place is a small city, so the bar scene must not be very big.

If you strike out at the bars, so to speak, is there a lot of stuff to at least do in the daytime?

The beauty of Charleston is the amount of women there year round. I prefer the winter as to avoid the tourist.

Athens is fun for drinking and fucking but that's it. Even the cuisine there is lacking. There ain't shit to do in that town.

Charleston is ethnically diverse. I dropped $300 last time on fresh whole fish at a good Asian market last trip. There was a ghetto so bad between work and the hotel, I kept a Glock 30 under my left leg, and didn't stop for redlights at night.

Charleston is mad historic, with walking tours and museums downtown. They have ghost tours...great place to take a goth/vampire chick on a date. [Image: idea.gif] You can spend time tracking down great restaurants, the city is full of them. There's a local entertainment paper, cant' remember the name. Just pick it up when you get there and plan accordingly. The summer has more to do, but there should be enough to keep you entertained over the weekends during the winter months. I was there for work, so my days were filled.

I went to school in charleston for two years.

I will begin by saying: Fuck Market Saloon to the HIGHEST Order of FUCKING IT POSSIBLE.
Imagine a bunch of drunk girls dancing on a table, that are hotter than every other chick in the place, BUT THEY NEVER COME DOWN. Seriously. I've seen girls dancing on that there fancy table for 40-50 minutes at a time til either they have to leave or fall off (hilarious).

Perhaps because I am young, I hated the place. The girls were stuck up for the most part but everyone that comes from other places seeems to LOVE it.

So.. At your own discretion behold my mini data sheet:

College of Charleston is located in downtown Charleston, where the ratio of girls to chode is stupid good. You can see literally 50 girls an hour that are walking and an 8-9 and can approach. Downside: Moderate Bitch Shields due to guys trying to pick them up. The secret? Make a friend before you go OR once you get there friend zone a chick and get her to wing you. The girls in charleston are suprisingly "i got your back for the hookup" oriented. Social Circle Game is decently important for the easy lay, but not essential as there are no shortage of girls to attempt.

Day Game Spots:

Marrion Square: Weekends during the summer/sunny days you will see a fair amount of girls relaxing out, in twos usually tanning on the grass. It really is as simple as walk up, and chill out with them and game them up. Girls out there tend to be decently receptive.

East Bay Street AND King Street area: There are usually alot of girls from COFC walking these streets during the day burning time, I would start from the battery walk past the park, walk down east bay until you get to the corner with market saloon on it, walk down market street then king street. Then when you get to the corner with the moes on it make a left and walk down to the CofC library. Inside the CofC library is a STUPID amount of girls usually just bored pretending to study so they are there for the swooping.

Forever 21: Forever 21 during the weekend is a store frequented by CofC girls to an insane amount. I went there for a few weeks and have never seen so many girls in one place. Just walk around the store and pick up, it is really really easy here if you have style because you blend in alot easier and the girls tend to be more relaxed when doing their favorite thing. Shopping.

Night Game:
My night game knowledge is limited due to age restrictions but the BEST place by far for everyone I know at Cofc is hitting up the king street bars + east bay street (MINUS Market Street Saloon. Fuck that place to the ground. Fuck that place). Its honestly the best combination. There is also right near the corner of meeting and calhoun a small jazz/live music place that is usually PACKED with women saturday nights.

Also if you can salsa: Thursday At South End Brewery on East Bay Street around 8 or 9ish to 2 is Salsa night and there are usually a fair amount of MUSC students that go there to dance salsa and some cofc students. Girls line up to dance with you, so if your swag is down and your salsa is tight, prepare to make magic.

Where to Stay:
If you want to be in the center of things: Charleston Place though Expensive
If you want to be in decent position: Francis Marrion Hotel
If you want to be not TOO far: Motel 6 on Savannah Highway its a 5 minute drive from downtown. Just be sure to rent a car lol

Be sure to hit up folly beach as well, it really can be hit or miss like Isle of Palms beach but if you have good timing you can really strike gold.

Sorry if this sucks this is my first data sheet so thats all I can offer for now [Image: biggrin.gif]. Ill be in charleston in December so yeah. Ill update more then.

Hotel prices in Charleston are insane. Nothing under $300 a night at a decent hotel for a fri/sat/sun in end of april or anytime in May. Airb&n has hardly any listings either. Shit I might just move down their and open up a hotel

Great data sheets!

I was in Charleston with family and my ex-girlfriend this past summer... my family and I are thinking of going back sometime this coming summer. The beaches on Isle of Palms are stacked with hot girls. I'm sure that's already been mentioned, but just putting it out there. Didn't go to any bars in the area (I'm 20) but will definitely think about it for next time, especially now that I'm single. Might have to go for dolo if no one wants to go with me.

I was in Charleston a few weeks ago with my Aunt for a day and my God....It was a lot of hotties out...I was very surprised that the city had a cool Southern-Chic Vibe to it and the people were very friendly and the girls were hot. Charleston Fashion Week was going on and chicks were EVERYWHERE...There was this one park were chicks were laying out sun-tanning on the lawn in between King Street and Meeting Street. The town was nice and compact and you could walk everywhere. I will definitely have to come back for a short weekend because I was very impressed. Does anyone know how it is in the summer time compared to Spring/Fall/Winter...I would imagine many of the Uni chicks leave...?

Yeah Hotels are insane. But seriously PLATINUM spot for pulling is charleston place. its directly in the center of everything and is a seriously awesome hotel. Its more G Manifesto oriented. But, its a dope place with good food in the resturant, plenty of day game oppurtunities I mean a SHIT ton around it. I have pulled many a time in Charleston just off knowing how to game and where to go.

Yeah, Charleston Place is baller. I remember seeing that place when I was down there - its right in the perfect spot and has that formal feel of class w/things like dressed up doormen that you dont usually see in smaller towns.
