Fat people have more willpower than you

According to David Wong at cracked.com, fat people (probably) have more willpower than you and being grossly overweight is both incurable and not their fault.

This article leads off with a whole bunch of "participation ribbon" level bullshit about how claiming that simple solutions exist for problems that still require hard work is shaming language and that obesity is an uncontrollable, blameless epidemic.

I usually enjoy killing time reading Cracked articles, but David Wong always finds a way to weave in all those studies about how "fat is incurable" and completely loses me. To me, his argument is more that losing weight should be easier and it's bullshit that it isn't. The rest of the article has a similar tone, but I was most off-put by the first argument.

They "just" need to win the brutal war that has exhausted every ounce of their energy, time, and emotional well-being for as long as they can remember.

Things like this lead me closer and closer to the belief that we are very quickly departing from a realistic understanding of what constitutes "hard work".

A lot of the things we criticize (like this article) are the writings of people who are mentally sick. They have an extremely warped view of what constitutes reality. There is no point even engaging them...and arguably it does more harm than good to even try because you will be forced to consider their twisted thoughts.

Proof that they're not 'big-boned' either.

David Wong has single-handedly driven me away from reading Cracked. The guy is a mangina that couldn't form a coherent argument if his life depended on it. And he's not funny at all.

Menace made an excellent point. I would also like to add that this is a perfect example of how progressives/leftists infiltrate and subvert existing organizations for their own ends. Here we have Cracked.com, which originated as a humor website and offshoot of Cracked magazine (which was basically just silly humor similar to MAD magazine).

And yet now this formerly humorous site is pushing the progressive agenda of fat acceptance, as well as other leftist nonsense. Instead of building their own organizations and pushing their agendas that way, they prefer to infiltrate existing organizations and movements and hijack them. This is simply how these people operate, and why it's so important that we exclude them from the manosphere vociferously.

It is no secret based on my previous posts that I believe the overweight epidemic in North America to be the biggest health issue of the 21st century. This is one thing the "fat acceptors" have always refused to accept and they constantly brnig up "overweight is not always unhealthy" (i.e. like a person who has a 29 BMI and can't walk up a flight of stairs is somehow healthier than a person with an ordinary BMI because their bloodwork is "ok").

One thing that just occurred to me, however. The left tends to embrace the fat acceptance cause. But many of them also want to ban, tax, regulate trans fats. If being fat has nothing to do with lack of self-control/personal responsibility, then logically we shouldn't be trying to regulate trans fats at all. Wouldn't these poor innocent people be fat no matter what they ate? It's "genetics" and its "not their fault".

Notice that they are claiming that people can be healthy at any weight, but their first complaint against thigh gaps, bikini bridges and thinspiration is that it is dangerous to people's health. Fucking hypocrites.

Stating the obvious, but that can't be good for the bones. I wonder if they have a ton more stress/hairline fractures scattered throughout the body because of all the unnatural weight put on them. Apologies for the tangent, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Very well put. It used to be my favourite site before ROK started but the anti-corporate, fat-acceptance, "OMG Men like skinny women?!?!?!?" piffle has driven me away.

The first two entries on this article are what put me over the edge.

I phased out from reading that site as well, but they did have this gem back in the day, still one of my favorites: http://www.cracked.com/article_17270_100...lines.html

I always enjoy telling people how much our bones actually weigh (nothing). I'm a 75kg (165lb) powerlifter whose bone density is 3 SDs above norm, and my bone mass is only about 2.8kg according to my DEXA scan.

A stupidly big-boned person will perhaps gain at most 1kg from that compared to an average person of the same height & sex.

Fatties don't like that fact much...

Willpower?

Put them in a room where there's two hamburgers.

Leave the room and tell them that they can eat them both when you come back.

Let's see how far that willpower goes.

Nope.

The fat people you make fun of and condescend to probably have more willpower than you do. That's because (and you would know this, Past David, if you were capable of pulling your head out of your own asshole long enough to grasp the idea that the universe contains beings who aren't exactly like you), in order to just stay at their weight, even if it's 300 pounds over the healthy level, they have to successfully resist the urge to eat more often than you do. Mocking them for having more fat on their body is like mocking an MMA fighter for having more bruises than you. You're not stronger, you're just living a different life.

I doubt David Wong has ever seen a morbidly obese person, "300 pounds over the healthy level", try to walk 300 feet. Otherwise he would not congratulate fatties for their "willpower".

But he did get one thing right. He needs to pull his head out of his asshole.

There's an experiment they run on children that is the best know predictor of their future success. Same scenario. One cookie, one room.

Tell the child that if they wait till you come back, they'll get two cookies. If they eat the one cookie, then that's all they get.

The children the held out the longest do very well in life.

The ones who snatched up the cookie right away, usually fail at life.

I wonder which child modern day fatties were?

I only read their articles about space, technology and interesting facts. Anything about social norms, differences and tastes is mangina material designed for lefties. I don't blame them, that's where the clicks and money come from.

I enjoy reading cracked.com for fun, but they have a lot of demotivational articles. The articles seem to often be created by nerds who impose their limitations to all of humanity. They, as most of mainstream press sadly, assume that the reader is an average Joe, the lowest common denominator with no non-standard ability at all.
