Budapest datasheet 2013 nightlife

I've been in Budapest for two weeks now, which has given me some time to get a handle on things.

I'm very pleased with my decision to come here, so far it's been a very positive experience. Here's what my experience has been like so far.

Girls

Girls have responded very positively to me. I've been able to meet, date and bang skinny, sweet, feminine girls. The language barrier has not been an issue for me. I think a big difference maker for me is that I'm telling girls that I've moved here (I plan on being here a few months). Girls seem surprised, intrigued and impressed when I tell them I moved to this city on my own. The girls I've gone out with have bought me drinks and even given me some small gifts.

I'm getting eye-fucked a lot here. More than back home. Maybe have a look that works well for this region of Europe, not sure. (I'm tall and have fair skin/hair. I do lift, but I'm not huge.)

In terms of a general look the girls have here, I'd say about 75% of them have dark hair, but there's a fair number of blondes here as well. I'm going to try to snap a few photos like Sourcecode did to share here.

Bars

I checked out Szimpla and Instant on a Monday night and they were busy well into the morning hours even then.

From what I gathered, Szimpla was more of a stand, mingle and socialize kind of place. I heard all kinds of languages being spoken there. Hungarian, English (all accents) French, German etc.

Instant had more of a hook-up vibe. I saw lots of people making out throughout the bar. It also has a lot of quiet and isolated areas where you can extract and isolate a girl. Unfortunately, when I was there, the ratio was pretty bad. I made out with one girl, let her get away from me a bit, then realized my mistake as I looked around and saw it was mostly a sausage fest. Hoping this ratio was just a bad night. Will be going back to investigate.

I also hit up an open air club on a Friday night called Romkert. This place has a great location, right on the Danube, very good ratio. You can see photos of the talent on their Facebook page. I plan to go back. I pulled a ONS from here. https://www.facebook.com/romkert.partyphoto?fref=ts

Another lively place worth checking out is Gozsdu udvar, located right in the centre of the city. It's a courtyard kind of area with a cluster of bars.

Day Game... at Night

There is a square in the city centre, Deák Ferenc tér. The metro lines 1, 2 and 3 converge there and it has a big ferris wheel in the middle of it. Every night in summer, it gets swarmed with young people, both locals and tourists, who meet there to enjoy drinks in the park.

If you're feeling social, grab a few beers from the grocery store and head on down. You'll be able to find people to join for beers. It's a big outdoor bar, really.

Tinder

I know Tinder gets some hate on this forum, but I've found it to be very useful. I logged in when getting here and started swiping yes. I was floored by the match rate I got. In two days I got about 100 matches. I've never come close to this in North America. I now have a social circle and a phone filled with numbers. It's made my transition seamless.

Costs and Transit

Aside from the girls, living here is also very affordable. I have a nice apartment close to the city centre, eat well and go out more nights than not and I don't see myself spending more that $1,000. You can live very comfortably here if you have a mediocre Western salary.

My gym membership runs at around $70/month, but the place is modern and well maintained. From the research I did, it seems like a nice/cheap gym is hard to come by. There are cheaper places, but they're dumps.

The Public Transportation system here is great and a monthly pass costs around $45. The metros, trams and busses are everywhere and run frequently. The city itself is also very walkable. It takes me about 20 minutes on foot to get from my apartment to the main square downtown. By metro it's about 5.

I'll chime in with more as I get to know the city a little better. I'll also try to add a few more photos to this post and others.
