Beyonce and JayZ Tip Like Everyone Else
He wasn't pissed but we both were shaking our heads after the two biggest pop stars in the world tipped a buck a per drink at a little club in NYC on Xmas.
WTF is with so many people these days thinking that the wealthy should give their money away and be happy about it.
Last night, went to the bar and paid a nice $25 tip and drank all night off it. It ended up being much cheaper than buying drinks at $10 a pop. Being in with a bartender is a huge benefit, plus gave me mad social proof. The girl I was with was saying, "he won't even accept your money." Ended up getting her and her friend with a free drink, and probably ended up paying $5 for it in the end. Win-win situation.
Iplayboy, After that first tip did you continue I leave any tips when getting the free drinks? I know there's got to be a game tipping in detail. Let's hear it.
I guess I didn't read the thread very thoroughly. It's a little fucked to tip lightly on Christmas, considering the bartender is working on a holiday.

Look, celebrities don't want privacy, if they did, they wouldn't be celebrities. They want to be rich and famous, and to be that, you have to sacrifice your privacy as it pertains to being anonymous in the public eye.
People don't even realize that a lot of the time the cameras catch them in "casual moments" it is because their people tell the papparazzi where they're going to be.
@ soup, nope, just $25 all together. The first couple drinks I got he wouldn't take my money or make change for me so I waited until my next round. The next round he gave me 3 drinks and charged me $5, I threw him a $20. Got a couple more and threw him $5 more.
I personally tip around $3-$5 per drink for myself or if doing a round of drinks, $20 for the first round, and $5 for every following round. You stand-out, are offered quicker service, and cock-blocks are pushed aside. When it comes to restaurants in the U.S., and you're eating at a high-scale place, and you're a reoccurring patron, I don't see how you'd get good service, or any service at all, after you've repeatedly stiffed the wait staff, or severely under-tipped. I'm sure you enjoy getting saliva and semen in your dish and who knows what else. I know what goes on behind closed doors to assholes, which non-tippers essentially are. Luckily, I've worked a position where shaming said assholes was not frowned upon and hearing peoples' rationalizations just made me laugh out aloud. Everything from "I'm currently unemployed" to "I'm saving to buy an engagement ring" to "I only tip when service is absolutely exceptional."
I playboy- so this was a guy you'd been to before? Is that why he gave you the first couple rounds free?

Alright, you need to spill your secrets because I have a neighborhood bar I go to just to hang out for funzies. I'll go after work during the week to watch some TV and grab a beer. I always pay full price regardless of who is there. The people are friendly and the bartenders seem nice, but I don't get any favors from anybody.
I probably look like a loaded asshole. Either way I go there all of the time and the service experience is on par with McDonalds. Prepackaged and expected. The only other place I was able to score free drinks from a bar tender was in college by floating off of the social proof of some bitty I was banging at the time. I have never been able to score free drinks from bartenders since no matter how often I attempt to "lock" a place.
Now on the flipside, there is a local Saab auto parts warehouse where I live that I've been going to almost every weekend for 3 months solving various mechanical problems. I know all of the guys there on a first name basis and they give me MASSIVE discounts on auto parts, new and used. It's great because I can get same day parts instead of waiting for shipping. Add in to the fact they mailed me a $30 gift card for my continued "business".
I have no idea why I can't get free drinks, yet get off with cheap auto parts. Do I come off like a dick? Probably, but please what is your secret for getting free booze?

Being knowledgeable about the place you're drinking at and the drinks they make. If you go to some mixologist bar like The Aviary in Chicago or Employees Only in New York, read up on the bartenders and see if they have been competing with any drink recently.

Wait, you are in New England right?
Do they still have Saab parts? Ever since Saab went out of business I have been scouting for some place to hit up for spares.

SAAB parts was the most profitable division of the entire auto maker and doing well as its own company now. You could probably save money by connecting with some Swedish guy at some swedish auto forum (there are tons) and have them ship you.
