Hypothetically can a american guy go to Japan and gigolo? Asking for a friend

Nah. Not unless he has movie star good looks and speaks perfect Japanese.

Even then, it's not currently "in vogue" to date non-Japanese guys. The hot-ass young hostess girls are all banging their barely-literate construction worker boyfriends.

Never been to Japan, but I've read many articles from expats describing how intense the work/business environment is there. People work like crazy: you're expected to be at work before your boss, and to stay there late into the night.

I don't know about you, but when I worked 6-7 days a week, from 5am-6/7pm, I just wanted to go home and have a beer, while my sexual desire dissipated heavily. Now compare when you're on vacation, spending time outside, working out... you suddenly want to fuck like a rabbit.

Work-induced stress is one of the worst things to happen to a human. It destroys the body and the spirit, far faster than most anything else.

I completely agree. Work can kill your sex life. You might only have one day out of the week to fuck.

Question is how do you keep the energy levels high so you want to approach, date, fuck after a long ass day at work?

You don't. You tell those sick fucks to piss off, and do anything humanly possible to stay out of their system.

Especially Tokyo. Sadomasochist sickos the lot of them. The stories I've heard man, 7 days a week 8am to 10pm. One guy who's brother worked 8am to 3am. We asked him if it was a joke -- nope. We asked him how it was even possible -- apparently lots of sleeping at the desk. We asked him "does he at least get a good salary"? Nope -- menial starting salary. Just a zombie-robot doing what he's told, just like everyone who gives him orders. Sick fucks. The only free men in Japan are those 60+, simply because all the people who used to give them orders are dead or retired.

It's an insane, voluntary slavery situation, and the only winners are the fugitives. Perhaps like the aforementioned "barely literate construction workers". As far as I'm considered, they're self-interested geniuses compared to their office compatriots.

Yall keep harping on what you would envision from your western perspective.

Keeping work to work and play to play means those who do go out go out with a main goal. When the girls are out at the bar they have a goal in mind, and you shouldn't opposed to helping them achieve that.

Apologies for being ambiguously simplistic, but in my experience having the right job makes all the difference.

If you're doing something you love, be it restoring old cars or speaking at conferences, you're pumped up after a day of work.

On the other hand, there is nothing more emasculating than some idiot yelling at you all day, telling you that you're a POS because you filed a report incorrectly, etc and you can't stand up and punch him in the face as your ancestors would have done, because money.

I've heard of foreigners doing the host thing but it's by no means a glamorous job. They start you off on the streets handing out flyers and trying to get girls to come to the club. Then assuming you have decent sales ability and you make it into the club itself then you are drinking yourself to literally vomiting on a daily basis while acting as entertainment for well-off obasan. Only the very good-looking and the very skilled make any serious cash from being a host. No examples I'm aware of of a foreigner making it big in that game. I wouldn't recommend it myself and Japanese people would think you crazy for considering it. In general it's a job for guys with few options left in life.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

New BBC Video:

Japan Times story from Sep 2016:

In sexless Japan, almost half of single young men and women are virgins: survey

Quote:Quote:

Talk about a shrinking population. A survey of Japanese people aged 18 to 34 found that almost 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women are not in a relationship.

Moreover, many of them have never got close and cuddly. Around 42 percent of the men and 44.2 percent of the women admitted they were virgins.

The government won’t be pleased that sexlessness is becoming as Japanese as sumo and sake. The administration of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has talked up boosting the birthrate through support for child care, but until the nation bones up on bedroom gymnastics there’ll be no medals to hand out.

Far from getting together and getting it on, the sexes are growing apart. There are now many more virgins than in 2010, when the last study was conducted and when only 36.2 percent of men and 38.7 percent of women said they had never had sex.

The study, released Thursday, was conducted by the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research.

The institute has conducted the same survey every five years since 1987, when the proportion of unmarried men and women who said they had no partner stood at 48.6 percent and 39.5 percent, respectively.

There was no accounting for the discrepancy between the genders, except perhaps for the age-old problem of men and women having different understandings of the word “commitment.”

The surveys did not ask about same-sex partners.

The institute said the increase in singles was particularly sharp for people in their late 20s, the age at which science tells us women are most fertile.

Asked about their hopes for the future, there seemed to be recognition that families are what humans are destined for. Nearly 90 percent of the respondents said they want to get married “sometime in the future.”

But 30 percent of the 2,706 men sampled and 26 percent of the 2,570 female respondents said they were not currently looking for a relationship.

“They want to tie the knot eventually. But they tend to put it off as they have gaps between their ideals and the reality,” said Futoshi Ishii, head of the NIPSSR’s population dynamics research department. “That’s why people marry later or stay single for life, contributing to the nation’s low birthrate.”

Boosting the birthrate is one of the coveted goals of the Abe administration, which has declared it will raise the fertility rate from the current 1.4 to 1.8 by 2025 or so. The government hopes to achieve this by making it easier for families to raise children, such as by increasing the places available at nursery schools.

The survey suggests it may also have to find a way to play cupid.

Meanwhile, the same study found that the number of children among couples who have been married for between 15 and 19 years averaged a record-low 1.94.

But in a plus for female empowerment, it also showed the ratio of women who returned to work after having their first child exceeded 50 percent for the first time.

The study, conducted in June last year, covered 8,754 single people and 6,598 married couples across the country.

Japan suffers record decline in population

Native population fell by 300,000 in 2016, partly offset by rise in foreign guest workers

Quote:Quote:

Japan’s native population fell by a record amount in 2016, but a jump in the number of foreign residents limited the overall annual decline.

According to the Internal Affairs Ministry, the number of Japanese fell 308,084 to 125.6m, reflecting decades of low birth rates and population ageing.

That was offset by a 7 per cent increase in the foreign resident population to 2.3m — a rise of 148,959 people — as increasing labour shortages led to inflows of students and guest workers.

The figures reflect a fundamental question for Japan in the years ahead: whether it will allow immigration to sustain its overall population or accept a decline to preserve ethnic homogeneity.

For the first time since the survey began in 1979, the number of annual births fell below 1m, with 981,202 babies born in 2016. Deaths reached a high of 1.3m.

The pace of population decline is expected to accelerate steadily as the baby boom generation born after the second world war ages while birth rates remain low.

According to projections from the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, the pace of decline will rise every year until 2045, by which time Japan will be losing about 900,000 residents a year — equivalent to a city the size of Austin, Texas.

Given many years of low birth rates, there is no quick way to reverse that decline, so the only alternative is immigration. That remains contentious in Japan, however, with politicians reluctant even to mention the word.

Instead, business lobbies have secured a succession of programmes that allow unskilled guest workers into Japan. For example, the “foreign trainee” programme is supposed to allow workers to enter Japan to learn technical skills for up to three years, before returning to their home country.

However, the system has been widely abused as a source of low-wage workers, who often work in harsh conditions. Although the number of foreign residents is up, it is unlikely to lead to a sustained increase in population.

Japan’s population continued to shift towards big cities and Tokyo in particular. The population of the capital rose by 115,000 to 13.5m, an increase of 0.9 per cent, while the surrounding prefectures of Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa also gained residents.

But population decline accelerated in isolated rural areas, with Aomori, Akita and Kochi prefectures all losing more than 1 per cent of their residents.

I respect Japan. Have been studying the language for over a year and am planning on going for the first time in September but I really couldn't give a fuck less about the declining native population. If the Japanese can't do something as simple as reproduce, then maybe it's their time;they had a good run. A while back some childless 50 year old Japanese woman was introducing me to her cat "Junko" over Skype ; "I was like bitch, where are your kids."

One million people were born in Japan last year, the idea that "they can't do something as simple as reproduce" is silly propaganda.

Here's something I've never quite got an answer for from the "Japan can't breed" folks: What do you think the population of Japan should be, and how exactly are they supposed to maintain it at that level?
Why is a population of 125 million better than a population of 100 million, or 80 million? It's not like they're making more land (At least, not in large quantities. The place is packed enough that they've been making artificial islands just so people have somewhere to live.)

It causes some damage to their global prominence, and it's an issue when attempting to balance their budgets and pay for their senior citizen welfare, but beyond that, who cares? When there were 80 million of them in 1960, nobody was saying "This place is so underpopulated! We'd better start having lots of babies, or our country is doomed!"

This is my beef with the "breed or die" crowd, too.

I'm no environmentalist dickhead, but it's pretty obvious that there are finite resources on this planet, sheer geographical space being the least disputable.

A slowly depleting population is only an issue if you continue on with expanding-population-political-policies, which is part of the reason that so many companies (banks in particular) are desperate for breakneck speed immigration into under-replacement-birth rate Western nations. If you're in the business of manufacturing prams or turning suburban blocks into apartment buildings (or if you're a banker financing all of these things) then increasing the consumer base by all means necessary is top priority, and who gives a shit of that causes the middle class to descend into barbarism. You'll be living in a gated community upstate anyway, and if things get really bad then you'll move to another civilised country like Japan.

Any plan that relies on adopting hardcore r-select strategies "for the continuation of our greatness" is utterly misplaced. The West didn't become great by outbreeding Indians or Chinese or South Americans. It became great by careful planning and acting in unison toward the shared goal of a greater society. Or in other words, by k-select behavioural traits.

I would concede that an ageing population (like the boomers) creates a hostile political landscape for future planning because too many voters aim their power toward propping up the current regime for just long that they can die in comfort before the world falls to shit, but even with continuing low birth rates it seems like we as a civilisation are learning from that lesson and evolving politically to think more of the bigger picture and less about our own greedy selves. The defining question of our nations will be whether the k-selects are willing to throw off the tyranny of the r-selects.

That's the only relevant question in the world right now.

Yeah I don't buy any baby bust talk. Populations might decline, but there will always be people within a given population who are going to pop out kids. Whether or not that should be everyone is another debate.

If anything, a decent drop in the population will do wonders for the average Japanese person's financial situation.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

I don't see what the problem is either. A quick google tells me there were about 70 million Japanese in 1940, there's about 125 million now.
Recently the Australian Bureau of statistics announced the population of Australia is over half born overseas or born to parents from overseas. Tell me how they're going to assimilate when they outnumber the people they're supposes to be assimilating too. Japan for all it's problems is still Japanese.

(Not discounting the immigrants to Australia who are from england etc. who have a similar cultural background BTW, similar not the same).

EDIT: And Australia just clocked over 25 million citizens too. It's a big country physically, but the really habitable bits are mostly on the coasts.

To the guys saying population decline is not an issue for Japan, tell me, how do the young feel about their prospects? Unfortunately they probably aren't having babies because it's too expensive more than any other reason. The incels have always been there in Japanese culture across the generations.

This issue would be the same in the West (population decline) but for high immigration and the lower classes continuing unabated.

The realistic view is that neither Japan nor the West have sustainable economic / population models and it will only get worse in both, for different reasons and across different time frames.

What Japan is staring at is either hardcore cultural/economic reform or reality doing it for them in the form of a currency/debt crash.

And at the end Japan will still be Japan. Currency crashes have happened before. They suck but life goes on.

Meanwhile the West, or rather the (((rulers))) of the West have decided that they if the West has to be sacrificed to maintain the current system then so be it.

Arguments about whether it was all engineered to come to this are irrelevant. It is what it is and we can either decide to take the same route as the Japanese or choose instead to cease to exist.
