Where should I go in late December?

Through a quirk of my job, I have 2 weeks off around late Dec to Early Jan. The last time I got screwed with Christmas flight rates, and it seems like it's starting to happen again.

Me:
Game: Lazy and meh. I've had success with setting up online dates constantly to a point where it snowballed to a date or two dates a night in a shitty city.
Work Lifestyle: Workaholic in western USA.
Likes: Ocean activities
Body: Minorly muscular, minor belly. I'll probably have a better body by December. Black haired white guy. 6'1"
Speaks: Only English, if I knew spanish I'd probably be going to latin america for sure.

The Philippines sounded perfect for me, but yet again all the catholic Filipinos made it $2000 again. Where should I go?

I've been living in Bangkok over the Summer. 26C is the lowest temperature I've seen in 4 months. Man, am I stupid. But it can only get cooler!!!!!

This is an amazing place. Really you need 0 game to score here. But it's kind of a good place to gain experience. Today I dated a girl who's half my age.

Pattaya's also worth crossing off your bucket list. A whole city built on beer and hookers. Is this mankind's finest achievement since the Tower of Babel?

TP, I've never even been to Pattaya but it's my understanding that, contrary to popular belief, the whole city is not just beer and hookers. If it was, it wouldn't be a family destination (for both foreigners and Thais). Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that while Pattaya is certainly the biggest destination for that, it's confined to certain sections of the city, like anywhere. Some areas are just like any part of Thailand and other areas and venues are quite refined.

What are your thoughts on that?

By the way, no hate on you at all; it just always bothers me a little to see myths get perpetuated, so I try to explore these things a bit more. Thailand, and especially Pattaya, get enough of that already from people who never even come. Is it possible you only spent a limited time in limited areas?

Either way, I'll have to pop in there for some beer and hookers some time... [Image: biggrin.gif]

I've actually been to Thailand a while back but for various reasons I could not do much rooshv style fun stuff. I've seen the spectacle that Pattaya is from the outside. I can spend $4k-ish, I just don't like paying double for airfare unnecessarily. I was thinking of maybe going somewhere in SEA and then hopping over on Air Asia to the Philippines, but it seems to be too much travel for just 2 weeks.

Have you thought of the Dominican Republic? Check out Ali's thread on his conquest through the land.

Maybe you might end up having fun. Stay along the coast in the tourist city if your spanish es no bueno

Yeah I looked more into the Dominican Republic, it's definitely more of a challenge there where you seem to need more time, and I just want a vacation in every way. Maybe when I've decided to semi-retire and learn spanish I'll go to places like the Dominican. I look more like a Mediterranean/Roosh type, and it seems like the blond sun-burnt types are the most popular there. I've decided to bite the bullet and just go the Phils/SEA, it will still be cheaper than Hawaii anyway.

I am still working out my travel details, potentially for phils, but not until probably late February or March, but I will be going for a couple of months... at least currently anticipated...

So I will be interested in hearing about which parts you decide to go.. and how it plays out. Would you just go to one location for two weeks, or are you gonna bounce around a little bit? I am thinking that x-mas time would NOT be good to be in the Phils, though, b/c of the catholic prevalence, a lot of the nice girls will be with their families... Other RVF members may have different opinions about that, though. Maybe Thailand or Jakarta may be better for Xmas, and then Phils for New Years? However, two weeks is such a short period, due to logistics, I would not recommend more than one location... but that's just me.

If you recognize that your own game is bad and that you're overworked you should probably just concentrate on going to a place to relax.

Travelling with game in mind at this point might just set you up to get disappointed. Get your game line before trying to take it to an international level.

Game is more rusty than bad, since I've decided to have GF who has a rare-for-america personality that I really value and I don't have the time devoting %40 of my valuable evening time to gaming. I'm definitely worlds away from where I was a decade ago. I seem to give off a minor player vibe without effort. I've had SNLs in bars without trying too much. I live in a place with a horrible gender ratio, in the American suburbs. I really just look at game as a sales funnel for me now. I don't like the drudgery of filtering women, I don't like staying up until 4am at clubs and I don't use drugs or drink, which puts me at a disadvantage dealing with mostly sober people.

If I had several months in the Dominican for example, and/or knew Spanish I would of definitely tried it out. I'm choosing the phils because it's basically a cheaper hawaii, with lots of diving and surfing, they speak half-decent English and I don't need as much of a time investment with my limited 2 weeks. Even if I totally fail game wise (which I really doubt), I'm still going to have a lot of fun diving and so on. I'll just be a lazy ass handing out phone numbers in mall and pipeline.

@JayJuanGee
I haven't booked flights yet. I've read it's actually busy tourist season in the Phils, and I'll be there for over a week past Christmas. Probably will fly into manilla, rest up from the trip for a day or two and then head south to Cebu & various beaches around there. I researched that exact problem of Christmas, and found out it's not much of a difference in the Phils, since most people live with their families anyway in overcrowded houses. Other threads here seem to point to Christmas as a not bad time. It's just all the immigrant relatively-hi-so Filipinos coming back home that jack up the prices that made me reconsider.

I have heard that some people head to Boracay for Christmas; however, such travel may just be for one or two days, right at Christmas time. Otherwise, maybe you are correct that the whole situation of clubs (which you said you do not really do) or malls or possibly water recreation activities may not change too much, anyhow, b/c as you say, many of the girls may already live with their families and not necessarily go back to the providences - or whatever girls you will meet will be sufficiently available - and sounds like you are considering being in the Cebu area for the bulk of the time...

It will be interesting to hear how it goes for you.

Have you read the various threads that relate to the Phils on this forum...? there is some pretty good data already on this forum, and there are probably at least 10 threads that have significant amount of phils data.

I think you made a wise call with the Philippines and am interested in hearing about your experiences there shortly after Xmas. Since you like diving and it sounds like you're after a more relaxing trip with plenty of beach time, I'd recommend two places that I've been to (and did lots of diving at), Palawan or the Cebu area.

Cebu Area: Although I wasn't a fan of the city itself, it is a gold mine for finding Filipina women. I would suggest flying there as soon as possible after arriving in Manila and staying at a hotel on Mactan Island which is conveniently where the Cebu airport is. Its not a big party island like Boracay, but there's some decent resorts there and I thought the beach was nice enough. There's also some dive shops there, but I didn't dive at Mactan, just spent a day at the beach, RVF member Menace dove there and said it was decent. There's lots of people up there on Mactan but if you want, you can take a taxi into Cebu (20-30 minutes) and meet girls there. Also, you'll likely have some jet lag issues for the first 2-3 days, so Mactan could be a good spot to chill and adapt.

Bohol Island: Take the ferry two hours from Cebu to Tagbilaran city and then hit up Alona beach, tons a good dive shops there and nice beaches, also lots of other activities such as touring the Chocolate Hills, visiting a tarsier monkey sanctuary, zip lines, etc. There's lots of foreign tourists so competition is higher for the local girls, may be a good idea to take one from Cebu, she'll love you for it.

Dumaguete: Take the ferry two more hours down to Dumaguete, my favorite place in the country, small city of 120K with a student population of 30K, tons of young pussy floating around. You can stay in the city (as I did) or a nice resort on the beach (reasonable prices) in nearby Dauin. I dove there at Apo Island with Harold's Dive shop, its Filipino run and pretty decent and was quite cheap at 3000P for three dives, there's better, foreign run shops in Dauin but expect to pay 5000P.

Suiquijor Island: I didn't visit it but apparently its very nice, quiet and relaxing, I regret not going but should have taken one of my Dumaguete girls there, maybe next time.

Oslob: A three hour bus ride from Cebu, this town is all about snorkeling with whale sharks (they're huge!), worth it for a nice day trip from Cebu: http://www.oslobwhalesharks.com/

On the Cebu area trip I'd spend 3-4 days in Cebu at first, then 2 days in Bohol and 3 days with maybe 1 day in Suiquijor then head back to Cebu for a couple of days to chase more women and maybe a day trip to Oslob then back to Manila to fly home.

Palawan: Fly into Puerto Princesa from Manila and stay there for a couple of days to get over the jet lag, there's not much there for beaches in PP but the city itself is quite nice, its the "cleanest and greenest" city in the country. You should be able to snag a girl or two in PP through either day, night or online game. I stayed at an Italian run hotel there called Moana which also has a dive shop, the hotel is very close to the airport, you can literally walk there in ten minutes. Decent dive shop, diving was pretty good off PP but nothing too exciting unless you go very far out, which I didn't. I would recommend finding a girl in PP to take to your next destination on the Palawan tour.

El Nido: 7 hour bus ride from PP, very beautiful area with excellent island hopping to some great beaches although the main beach in El Nido isn't that nice. Lots of foreigners, mostly back packer crowd, decent beach parties at night but not much for local girls. Diving is supposed to be great there but I didn't do it, definitely regret that one. Then take a 7 hour boat ride to your next stop.

Coron: Last destination on the Palawan tour, the city isn't that great and I didn't hit up any beaches but the diving was amazing, I dove three different Japanese war ships in one day at a very good price of 2700P, forget the name of the dive shop but it was Filipino run. This was by far one of the best experiences in my entire life, very cool. There's an airport near Coron where you can fly direct back to Manila, so you could actually do the Palawan tour in reverse of what I just mentioned. Actually you may want to stay in the Manila area for the first few days to get over the jet lag and do some banging there.

Between those two tours, I'd say the Cebu area is best for bangs while Palawan is better for diving, I'd give a slight edge to Cebu area for quality of beaches. Here's some general tips for the Philippines:

-Riding a scooter will enhance your experience big time and make meeting girls and moving around way easier.

-Bring some immodium, expect to spend a day or two taking it easy in bed at some point, only drink bottled water!

-Even if you are a bit darker skinned, bring sun lotion, the sun is intense there and I met black people there getting sun burnt!

-Pipeline, pipeline, pipeline! You'll want to have some solid leads before you leave, in each city.

-Bring condoms from home, the local rubbers can be tight and sometimes hard to find.

If you have dive gear, bring it with you as some of the cheaper shops also have cheaper gear.

I wrote more detail in 20nations's epic Philippines data sheet that you can find here, you may also want to consider visiting Mindanao as he did but I'd say that you can't go wrong with the two tours that I suggested, good luck!

Scotian: Real superb detail in your response.. ... ...

I have two questions for you, though...

1) is immodium superior to something like pepto bismal. I have a pretty high tolerance to eating a variety of foods; however, when I do have troubles with food, usually, I have pretty good results by taking pepto bismal (or some generic equivalent), and usually, i do not have to take very much of the pepto bismal in order to become cured of the symptoms. Do you know if there is a difference between pepto bismal and immodium.. or maybe either one would be o.k. to address the potential gut issues?

2) Why are you suggesting to bring sun lotion? I would have thought that in the Phils, they would already have plenty of sun lotion available, locally. Are there any problems with the local sun lotion that you know about?

I usually only ever use pepto bismol for heart burn and didn't have it too much in the Philippines as the food there isn't spicy (but it can be greasy!), I suggested the immodium for the shits, or traveler's diarrhea which many people, including myself get. I think you can get some kind of shots or some drinks at an immunization centre before you leave, I wish I did as there's nothing worse than staying inside for 2-3 days shitting all day, especially on a shorter trip.

I suggest bringing sun screen from home as it can be hard to find sometimes in the Philippines (in smaller towns such as Coron or El Nido) and its quite a bit more expensive than in the USA.

Another solid tip would to have the smart phone application Whatsapp installed on your phone, tons of Filipinas use it, its basically free texting messaging over wi-fi. Build up a solid lead of on-line girls, I would even start now, a few months ahead of the trip. Its not my favorite thing to do but get these girls on Skype, the further you push the interactions (getting them naked online, etc), the more likely that you'll get to bang them quicker.

Filipinas are pretty cool, there's good girls and bad girls, smart girls and ones who are dumb as rocks but they're very much down for meeting foreigners and most are quite easy to please, taking them out for a $5 meal often times makes their day and leads to an easy lay. Taking them on a 2 day mini-trip to an island they've never been to will blow their mind. Of course I'm talking about the poorer girls here, not the high end ones you'll find in Manila who are often busy working and studying. The good thing about the poorer girls is that they're often unemployed and available to hang out all day, bang or take trips with you, the down side is that they're often boring with limited life experience and their stories of growing up and living so poor are heart wrenching, or fucking hilarious, depending on how sick of a bastard you are.

I didn't make too many strong connections there (I almost never do with any girls) but you should see the sentimental stuff that guys like THC and 20nation get sent to them almost every other day from multiple girls who they haven't seen in several months. A guy with a tender heart could easily find the love of his life there, or if he's too naive could get scammed by a conniving whore, keep your wits about you over there and you'll be fine.

Yeah while I was in Thailand, I probably had the shits %90 of the time. It was probably from the high amounts of spice, since I was fine until I need to go the washroom, then when I needed to go, I really needed to go (sorry TMI, but you should know). Also sunscreen was expensive and not that wide spread surprisingly in SEA. It really ironic although, since that is probably the best 'whitening' product they could have! Also while your swimming at a beach, swim with a sun shirt for swimming. Sun screen wears off too quickly while you swim.

Just did 25 days in Cebu City myself...At that point the dirty air, poverty, noise and air made me sick and it was time to go...

How did you get over to the ferry to to take you to Dumagete ? I hear the bus ride can take as long as 4 hrs from Cebu City..Yes agree with much of what you said...Cebu City girls are easy to get but most not that hot and dumb as dirt but have no life and are readily available...Never been to Manila but BKK women are getting annoyingly "busy"...I live in California and hate that word..Most people even here in Hollywood are busy doing nothing !

My 2 cents. If you're traveling in South America, December is a tad too early. Hold off until jan- feb if you can. End of December you'll just get a taste of summer.
