Leaving for Vegas tomorrow for 3 nights. Staying at Encore. 3 friends from high school that are completely out of the game. I'm planning on rolling solo at XS after 1am all weekend.

From a quick read it seems the bungalows go for 18-20k a night typically! I always wondered how pro athletes and celebrities could go broke! I didn't know there were hotels at that level of expense anywhere until seeing that.

It seems its going to be crowded, rolling like 10 deep this weekend and I know several other groups of guys going for NCAA games. Pool parties have looked ok from the pics online, if you're staying at Encore definitely hit up EBC. I'll be slummin' it at Treasure Island's pool, probably going to hit up the spring breakers. Going to Light on Friday, Hakkasan on Saturday. Just kind of going with the flow this weekend, in a group this big, its best not to give any input or layout too much money.

@Drazen. How was Treasure Island's pool? I thought that would be a good idea. I want to do Vegas on the low end a couple of times this summer too...
One very underrated quality about Los Angeles is it's proximity to Las Vegas. I'm with McQueen, that city is going to have a huge summer.
This weekend we had a sick suite on the 60th floor of Encore. 2 double beds and a separate couch area with floor/ceiling windows. That hotel is definitely THE place to be. Cosmo is probably a close 2nd place, but I haven't stayed there yet (just went to Marquee). I would probably stay away from Wynn in favor of Encore. Both are on the same property, but it felt like Encore was right on top of EBC/Surrender and XS.
I met up with 2 married/kids friends from high school and another friend. None of them were much up for the club scene or talking to women, so I was sort of stuck. I didn't want to bail on the group for most of the weekend, so I didn't go to XS. Next month...
Thursday night I was pumped to go out though. I left my buddies at the tables around midnight. XS had a Cisco private party. Tryst was going off though. Tryst is much, much smaller, and a lot louder. I was feeling it though, and found a great spot at the bar to post up at.
Probably after the 5-6th girl that I talked to, I hit it off with a tall black chick. She was probably 5'11 and I'm 6'4 with my dress shoes on, so I'm automatically in her wheelhouse. Turns out she's 22 and started grad school in my neighborhood at UCLA. She's a little standoffish, but not leaving or looking for her friends, so I grab her hand and take her to the dance floor. TI's pool was pretty weak to be honest this weekend. There were a few groups of girls spaced around, but they were pretty isolated. If you don't want to bother with the hassles that can come from pool parties and logistics/cost, its not a bad alternative. In my experience the better lower budget pools for me have been the Flamingo and the TI. Both have more of a party atmosphere and less of an old couple/family vibe. I really did not meet that many spring breakers this weekend, there were quite a bit of people from LA that I met. For lower end accommodations as far as location, TI is pretty good. Some of the lower cost places don't have a lot of girls staying there and some less than desirable demographics, but TI seems to have a decent number of pretty hot chicks on a budget. Senor Frogs is a pretty decent day drinking/early evening spot before heading out.
I went to Hakkasan for Tiesto on Saturday, which was a complete shitshow. It was way too crowded, people were blocking the hallways and ramps and walkways to see the DJ. Most of the tables had people standing around them lingering, also just to see the DJ. I really need to go to Vegas solo and get my own room some time. I had several sets all weekend that were just killed by weak wingmen, the only time I was able to close I went out on the dancefloor by myself while everyone was at the table and ditched them. I think a group of 3 guys rolling there for a weekend is probably optimal for that town. If you want to get a small table, you usually will have a one bottle minimum which isn't too bad. Groups of girls of all sizes are usually pretty approachable, and if you have a weak wingman, you can easily ditch them without having them follow you around trying to force them to do something since they can have another person to kick it with.

I think in the evening it turns into cheesy married couples that can't get into or don't want to go into the larger clubs. Seeing that the pool sucked, I just went there in my board shorts in the early afternoon to get wasted and get my drink on. Met 2 cougars and 2 early 20s latinas and a few other stragglers at the bar drinking. I've also been there in the early evening where a 100 person "Vegas Bar Crawl" was starting so there were a bunch of tourist girls getting wasted quick with shots, etc. I wouldn't go out of my way there, but if you're staying at the TI the place has people that don't know any better getting intoxicated pretty cheaply and the elevator is just a few hundred feet away.

My usual M.O. is to go Friday until the 6:30am to 8:30am flights on Monday morning. Its usually a bad idea, but I like to go out on Sunday nights as it still has the stragglers from the weekend there but still not as crowded. I can't do the no sleep thing, around 4:30am I start tripping out and then at the airport I'm just feeling like crap on the plane. If I get an hour or two of sleep on Sunday night and wake up at 5:30 or 6, I'm usually ok to get through the day then crash out on Monday night.
My next target to go though is May 31st, the electro-house duo Deep Dish is reuniting at Wet Republic, saw that over the weekend, pumped for that.
Oh yeah, I finally hit up Tacos El Gordo which I've wanted to try for a while. Its right next to the Encore in a minimall, really great mexican food, even by LA and Mexico standards. I hear its a late night spot for clubgoers (I did hit up the Peppermill but there wasn't much happening there).
Has anyone tried/bothered with online game for Vegas? I'm going to be out there the last week of April (Saturday through Thursday). This will be my longest domestic trip in some time and I'm accustomed to pipelining and using OKCupid, etc. for trips abroad. Vegas obviously has a very different dynamic however...

Tried it last time I went and it was pretty crap. Nobody bothers with the hook-up sites and the more serious ones like MAtch is not what you want anyhow.
