The Wynn is probably my favourite hotel in the whole world. There are so many things to do there, from spending an afternoon relaxing with your buddies by the European pool after a long night out, to hitting the casino lobby in the early evening to gamble or check out the dressed up talent. Wazuzu is also a great restaurant to hit before heading to XS, food is great and you can get some sake shots in.

What about Cosmo? is it still target friendly for day game? or is it best to recruit by walking over to miracle mile or fashion show? What about the factory outlets?

If the pools are open, that should be your only Day Game. Cosmo is ok, its a little more transient in the daytime and there aren't as many people as night time. The people drinking during the day in the casino, if there are any pools open, are not optimal.

I agree that if you're only interested in finding girls the Cosmo is only ok. When we were there all the rooms were booked but the casino was surprisingly empty at night. It was a fight weekend with tons of events so perhaps that was the cause.

Also, the pool parties had guy/girl ratios that surprised me. The ratio of groups of solo girls to solo guys was really bad. The Cosmo needs to work harder to bring in more groups of girls to the pool.

So... Cosmo is harder for day time game? as i am likely to be there on the tail end of pool season... where most will shut or are almost shut... it might be a little cooler too. What would be the plan then? head over to Shoppes at Ceasars, Fashion Show Mall? Miracle Mile?

SLS is also moving to Las Vegas. Should be opening soon.

If its anything like the beverly hills SLS and baazar, it'll popping off esp for the older man/sugarbaby crowd.

THEhotel is turning into the Delano hotel in September. Doubt they can get the same crowd Miami gets though, but it seems like it might be good for lounge life. Problem with the SLS is that its all the way down on Sahara. Just kind of geographically undesirable of an area. There was a rumor they were going to make an Usuhaia Beach Club in Vegas. Maybe if the Daylight stops poppin' off they'll rebrand it as such.

They started the project when the Fountainbleu and Echelon were going to be developed in that area but both kind of fizzled out. Just looked it up, apparantly the Echelon is going to be a "Resorts World" which they have some in Asia I believe. http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/ne...-show-yet.

I'm wondering if Vegas will ever get a LIV or Pacha. Pure Vegas closed last night, its owned by Hakkasan/AMG. I hated that venue.

SLS is planning to open Labor Day Weekend later this year. Foxtail their new day and nightclub is opening LDW14 as well. I'm confident it will be marketed and promoted properly. SBE has put a lot of investment into getting SLS up and running. XIV will continue this summer at Hyde Bellagio.

With Drais opening this Memorial Day Weekend, it will be a solid summer to enjoy in Vegas.

Has anyone been to the Sapphire's Pool Party? An acquaintance's daughter works there and she told me it's decent.

I think its stupid for the SLS to have opened at the END of summer. They needed to make a big splash with a Hyde Beach (or i guess Foxtail) becoming an exclusive pool party. No one wants to go to Vegas in the fall and winter, it sucks. They will have a few weekends but then it'll kind of die down. I envision the path of the SLS sort of like a more upscale version of the palms. It will be hot for a little while, but over time it'll fade out. I know not to doubt SBE but its just geographically undesirable. It'll have jet setting LA types going there, but what's it going to be like 2-3 years down the line. The Palms used to be the hottest shit in Vegas, look at it now.

I honestly think the whole pool party/mega club concept will soon be overplayed and something new and innovative will have to take its place. It just seems that it will reach a saturation point. Its just a continuous onslaught of high paid EDM DJs over and over and over again. I mean its cool to see Tiesto, but to see him 3x in a summer?

I like it all and think its pretty great, but I think its at a peak and will fall in the next few years.

Any early Summer updates on the Vegas Scene? I haven't had a chance to go yet this summer, but will in a few weeks. From what I see online in picture galleries is that Encore Beach seems like a total shitshow now with the big headliners they bring in. Wet Republic doesn't seem as active.

Anyone go to Drai's yet? Dayclub vs. Nightclub? Type of crowd? From what I have seen online, its not XS level talent. They still have the 3am hookers and pimp convention at The Cromwell like old times?

Is there any gaming to be done at the new Linq area?

Good reminders guys. I have to update my Vegas Datasheet and will do so tonight.

The short answer is: Drais Dayclub is excellent. Tons of girls, great looking club and definitely with the top dogs.
The Drais nightclub is huge, great looking again, but they don't bring in 'Name' Djs so it doesn't quite have the top tier feel like Hakkasan and Marquee.

I'll do a full breakdown on the Data sheet on my blog in a bit.

whoa that is a good deal thanks for this. I liked MGM this summer when I stayed there, pool scene was decent and the restaurants were pretty good (esp the big sports bar - massive screens was great to watch the NBA & Stanley Cup finals). Will be cool to have a suite.

MGM is a classic, underrated Las Vegas hotel. Its been there forever and perhaps gets overlooked because of the younger places north and across the street in City Center. Personally I like it though I've only been through the MGM Suites, which are awesome, not in a regular room. Central location - corner of Trop and LVB, and super close to the airport.

OP-
Know of some places where pulling hot cougars is like shooting fish in a barrel easy?

Where are some of the best day game spots for LV?

Does it vary from locals and tourists as far as locations to pull and type of game that works?

What about campus game Giovonny style- are the girls down or do they have that little school girl click mentality when you walk around campus in LV?

The Cosmo is incredible. Not only is Marquee there, but gaming throughout the Casino is easy. I was there this past April. There are four bars along the length of the casino floor that were regularly packed. I can't remember the fourth one, but there was Vesper, Bond Bar, and the Chandelier Bar. I don't know if I there was a selection bias, but I pretty much approached any group of girls I found to have at least one or two cute members and the result was 80% Latinas. No real blow outs (that was at the other hotels, Cosmo was good to me), and the vast majority were bachelorette parties looking for an American to entertain them. Even the ones with boyfriends who made it clear they wouldn't cheat would turn and try to help me with one of their sisters or friends. All very friendly, put a smile on my face.

The Chandelier Bar was a very cool three story bar in the middle of the Casino floor that looks like....a big chandelier. Lots of couches and booths and in spite of being in the middle of the casino floor, easy to hear others and have a conversation.... not even close to the loud music assaulting your ears in the clubs. Made it very easy to approach girls wandering from their hotel rooms or to marquee, pique their interest ("yeah, that big chandelier thing over there... you didn't know that's a bar? You gotta check it out... very cool to look out from the inside") and then "venue-change" to a cool bar literally 20 yards away. And then "venue-change" again to another bar a 2 minute walk away in the same casino. And then back to the hotel room.... an elevator ride away. Certainly saved money and time, and Cosmo had groups of girls regularly just walking through (thanks to Marquee for being the bait).

I definitely made use of McQueen's LA advice to pack my fridge with vodka and soda in order to sell the "come on up for a drink and check out the view of the fountain... hey look it's about to go off"

McQueen, well worth considering as a Vegas hack to elite status at MGM Hotels. About the same investment as a day or two in Del Mar.

Quote: (07-18-2014 08:11 AM)G_global Wrote:

There is a good site called hackmytrip.com. They just posted a hack related to my previous post, and this quite frankly would be a golden idea for some players/travellers who live in or frequently travel to Las Vegas. The benefits would extend to travel anywhere Hyatt or MGM has a property.

Since Hyatt is now linking to MLife (MGM) and MGM has some super cheap hotels in Las Vegas (yes, Excalibur) there is a great hack to be had. It would take a little bit of work, but would turn around $500 investment (plus taxes) into something worth perhaps 4,000 to 5,000 USD. I might try to do it myself.

Here's how it works.

Hyatt has something called Diamond Status, and you obtain this status by booking for 25 trips or alternatively, 50 nights at Hyatt Properties. However, with the new partnership between MGM and Hyatt, Hyatt is allowing stays at MGM properties to count for all of the trips or stays necessary to hit Diamond Status. As a result of this, you could conceivably book 25 one night stays at a shit-hole like Excalibur for 20 nights. Keep in mind this has to be 25 stays, so you can't book a single stay for 25 nights. (Also, booking through booking.com usually denies benefits on loyalty programs so always book directly with the hotel chains if you want the loyalty credit.) With a midweek cost of a Excalibur one night stay of say $20, that means you could buy diamond status on Hyatt for around 500, by booking 25 one night stays (plus resort fees if you can't avoid them and taxes as well). Keep in mind the rates for Excalibur vary greatly and the rate is not the typical rate, but is available as an off-peak rate from time to time, often through MGM promotion.

What do you get? Good question...

With Hyatt Diamond, you get the following...

Achieve rewards even faster with a 30% point bonus when choosing points
Enjoy the best room available upon arrival, excluding suites
Receive exclusive access to the Regency Club or Grand Club lounge featuring complimentary continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres2. Enjoy daily complimentary full breakfast in hotels without a club lounge3
Treat yourself to a suite upgrade at the time of reservation four times annually on eligible paid nights4
Receive a special welcome point bonus or food and beverage amenity during each stay5
Receive a nightly room refresh6
Receive the confirmed bed type at check-in7
Stay connected with complimentary in-room Internet access8
Expedite check-in at a dedicated area for elite members9
Ensure a room is always available with our 48-hour guarantee10
Extend your stay until 4:00 p.m. with a late check out request11
Book reservations through an exclusive Diamond line
And, enjoy 20% off the daily rate with My Elite Rate on any standard room in 2014 (subject to availability).

Here's the link to the page. Basically, Hackmytrip, a reliable site, conservatively values this at north of $4000. Just a suite upgrade one time can be easily worth the 500 invested to do this, and you'll get four. If you achieve this after July 1, I believe you keep the status for almost 18 months (until a year from the following February) and its easier to generate more points because you get a 30 percent points bonus as well.

Keep in mind as well that the food in the clubs tends to be quite good, and can substitute for meals, not just for breakfast. And Hyatt really does have some of the nicest properties around. I'm wondering now if I could book multiple rooms at the same time, i.e. 25 rooms for one night at shitty Excalibur and lock in in the status. Hyatt has 300 properties worldwide.

If you're a traveller with status with Hyatt, you can now link your Hyatt status to a new or existing MLife account and enjoy status at MGM properties as well. Notably, the MGM properties in Las Vegas include some of the best for game, including Aria (always full of targets), Bellagio, Mandalay, MGM Grand. Also includes Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Vdara, Delano Vegas, and others.

Definitely one perk I can see using with my gold status (matched to my pre-existing Hyatt Platinum status) is using the VIP line to skip the line for the pool clubs and nightclubs, plus one. I'm actually not even sure which clubs are covered other than Hyde in the Bellagio, but there must be some that are worthwhile (as well as the day clubs, though I don't go too often to them). Maybe a Vegas nightclub expert can weigh in and speak to which good spots would be covered - it seems to cover any on an MLife property.

Anyway, here are the tier benefits -

Right now Caesars is having its purportedly 25% off sale. This covers the following hotels in Vegas: Caesars Palace NOBU Hotel Planet Hollywood Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino Harrah's Las Vegas Paris Las Vegas Flamingo Las Vegas Bally's Las Vegas The Quad The Cromwell The LINQ

Also, now with the SPG partnership, you'll earn points to your Starwood account (and to some degree status, but make sure to call and check, and in any event, I believe its limited to 10 nights per year towards elite status, and it doesn't count towards lifetime elite status - Starwood has great online help via chat as well, very easy to use) by staying there. Since the Starwood options in Vegas kind of suck, if your collecting SPG points like I do, and aiming for status with them, this is a more interesting option on-strip. I checked the Cromwell out the other night, brand new, where Drai's is, could be a good home base for a stay. Definitely brace yourself for price increases for the weekends though.
