Staying at the Mirage makes zero sense to me. The location is great and the hotel isn't a dump, but that's about it. For the price, it's just not worth it. The only MGM hotels which are more expensive than the Mirage are the Aria and the Bellagio, both of which are much better than the Mirage. It's not even debatable. I also consider the MGM Grand to be better than the Mirage, both because of the volume and the fact that MGM has both Hakkasan and Wet Republic. For pool parties, EBC is by far the best option. It is also more expensive than other places, but for quality of girls, no other pool party is in its league. Wet Republic and Marquee Dayclub may be a distant second and third and I'm not even sure which is better. Right now, the best deal as far as a hotel is the SLS, but I hear people, both on and off the forum, complaining that it is too far away from everything. It's obviously on the strip, but at the extreme north end.

I was in the Mirage months ago at about $150/night. There was nothing wrong with the hotel but if there's a better place to stay then I'll do some more research. It was a genius idea to visit Vegas in winter where there were no pool parties popping.

I've heard hitting up pool parties at about 4-5PM on the weekdays is a great way to get laid. I don't like clubs or bars and I've heard of a strategy where you hover near the exits of the hotel/club. I probably will find out if that's right in a couple months.

I really miss the Ultralounge. More chill, less sardine-packed. It actually mattered that you dressed really well and carried yourself well. The loud DJ centric clubs are fun and all, but I'm more of a lounge lizard.

Thoughts about the strip club during the day? I know there has been talk about Rhino at nights... but was thinking of doing some day game at the strip club rather than at the pools. I work better at night but saw the club as an opportunity to day game somewhat to set up for nights?

I think its going to be a waste of time/money.

Most of the girls at the strip clubs are pros, the day shift is more dead. Maybe to put you in a up beat frame of mind, but there are so many day time options now with the pools being slamming, I think the Strip Club will be relatively depressing.

Pools are where its at. Its better to improve your results at the Daytime Pool Parties.

Recently I have been thinking that Las Vegas is one of the best cities for pickup.
Girls fly from all over the country or even from different country to party in LV.
Best musicians that you wanted to see, you can drive up 10minutes to see them at your favorite club.
Your gym is also another couple minutes, everything is close to each other.

Plethora of woman flying in & out every night, you literally do not run out of sets in the venue because the city itself is a revolving door of sets.

I hope to move to LV when I am older and financials set up where I can be location independent.

Unless you are in the industry, I think you'll get sick of it really fast. Most locals stop going to the strip and just end up in bars in mini-malls.

Fair enough, but doesn't this apply to every city?

Yes, but some cities more than others.

Las Vegas can be a decent, albeit somewhat boring, place to live when you're older and trying to raise a family. There are some really nice suburban neighborhoods with big houses for relatively cheap prices. It is similar to Phoenix and other SW-US cities. I know some people who have moved there from Socal and seem pretty happy. It is obviously also a great city to be in if you work in the hospitality industry.

However, moving to Vegas just for partying and game will get old FAST. On the surface, it looks great -- dozens of clubs, revolving door of women, relatively cheap compared to LA/NYC/Miami. The issue is that the nightlife/pool parties, coupled with the variety of other vices available in a split second (gambling, drugs, strippers, etc), makes it really hard to maintain any sort of balance even if you're relatively grounded.

This gets even harder when its scorching hot in the summer and chilly in the winter. What's a better option on a 105 degree summer day... going hiking at Red Rocks... or getting wasted and hitting the dayclub? You know you should get to bed early tonight to get some work done tomorrow morning... though Katie the bottle girl just texted you to come over to do some lines and then see Kaskade at XS. Partying is just such a relatively better option, especially if you're the type of person who likes to party, that it becomes really hard to say no.

I've seen many people move to Vegas just to party. The ones who don't get a good gig in the scene (such as hosting at a club) tend to either burn out and move back, or continue to go further and further off the deep end. And just like the highs are better in Vegas than almost anywhere else, rock bottom is also much lower than in most cities. Just take a drive a few blocks off of the strip to the North or East and look around. It can get ugly.

I'll clarify that I generally love the Vegas night scene, and there's many a time after a weekend in my city that I get the slight urge just to move to Vegas and party. But I doubt I will ever do it.

You're kind of stuck in a bubble in Vegas.

Hell, even when I party there, I can't take more than 3 days in a row, I just start craving to go home to reality. I can't imagine living that kind of life.

The optimal scenario is to live somewhere within an hour or two hour flight from Vegas and go there frequently for weekend trips. Vegas is cheap, but honestly, if you live there you won't be partying on the strip as much as you think you will.

Dam, nice information to know. I guess I will have to visit one day and see if the lifestyle if for me.
I don't really drink/smoke and wasn't a huge partier. I just want to do pickup and LV seemed like a great place for it and it's cheap to live there relative to how much access I have to people who are ballers.

Any recs for bars in Vegas? Open to anything, regular or upscale, downtown or on the strip (though the strip bars from my experience tend to be dead or filled with hookers). Really don't feel like paying $55 + $25/drink to see a no-name DJ at Omnia especially when I only have a few hours to go out.

I really enjoyed starting my night out at the Golden Tiki in Chinatown. Good vibe, cheap strong drinks. Not an all night spot, but if you go early enough, you'll catch girls starting their nights.

Downtown bars have turned pretty ghetto last few times I was out there.

When I was there for work earlier this year, I grabbed a drink at one of the bars inside The Cosmo hotel. It was probably 7-8pm timeframe, but there were at least 4 solid 8s in the place, and I will assume 2 of those were pros even at that early hour. I chatted up one of the remaining two who was in town for a conference herself, however was married with a step son back home. Nothing materialized but it made me think long and hard if I would have my wife work, let alone travel alone, to places like LV.

The bar outside of Omnia which used to have all the aquariums was pretty poppin last time I was in town (about a month ago). DJ, free entrance, ok crowd...a bit ghetto but what can you expect. A lot of people pre-game there while waiting for friends to go into Omnia. Its a high traffic area, that's for sure.

I'd probably check out STK's bar area earlier in the night as well. Its smallish though.

In Planet Hollywood the PBR Rockbar is a meeting spot for the Club Crawls. Go there around 930-1015pm, there are lots of groups trying to get hammered fast before going on the party busses, may be good for a quick strike.
