I am inclined to believe that this is real. I think the correct way to look at this is that he has a combination of great game and high social status that vastly outweighs the penalty from his bad looks. Furthermore, while he looks awful with those acne, hair, obesity and glasses, he's not monstrous. He doesn't have a cleft lip or something. His looks are definitely a penalty, but not a deadly penalty. I've seen worse looking guys with reasonably cute girls before.

He probably has the reputation of a really fun, cool guy that everyone wants to hang out with (plus willingness for non-judgemental sexual experimentation is considered cool in modern high school circles), and he doesn't give a fuck. He radiates positive emotions all around because he doesn't care one bit if he doesn't get them back. With all these factors at work, I don't see why he couldn't transition this into some bangs at parties, particularly when drink is involved. As someone said earlier, something being cool produces a halo effect for women.

I've known one guy similar to him in college. While not a star, he was not celibate either. Even still, this shows you the power of "gay game." Girls love gays.
