Also I don't understand how he's a successful start up guy? He got finding from Y combinator which usually equates to $25,000... They invested $1.4M last year into 70 companies so that's $20K...

I know some of startup scene around here in SF, YC and otherwise. If you make the YC class you actually get more than $20k, Yuri Milner puts another $100k or so in and usually the founders get a friends and family seed round or use their own money to self fund at first.

I've been to some of the parties at VC firms and startup offices and there are definite startup groupie chicks too that are into the startup guys.

Most of these companies won't be a success and getting real funding (series A) is hard but these guys can definitely leverage their status in certain circles.

I love these SF threads! I learn more about my city by reading these threads then by walking around my neighborhood.

SF is like 25 little cities in one. Each neighborhood is different.

What kind of people are you hanging out with?

We are one of the worlds leading producers of porn. We are one of the worlds major centers for pimping and prostitution. We are a world hub for human trafficking and slavery.

I am not proud of this stuff but it is the truth.

You think we are sexually conservative???

That is simply not true.

The guy you met was probably a beta.

Next time, you stay with me!

San Francisco isn't NorCal.

I agree with Rio. San Francisco is not a part of "NorCal".

On a map, it is, But, culturally, it might as well be a different planet.

Rio is from NorCal. I am from San Francisco with a lot of family in NorCal.

We are the ones who are most qualified to speak on this.

"NorCal" and SF are 2 completely different cultures.

If you have never been North of the Bay Area, then you have never experienced "NorCal".

SF women feature a toxic mix of ultra left wing feminist values, combined with heavy intellectual elitism.

SF'ers love to hate on every other city in US.

Men recognize us as equals here.

Girls in SF do not respect alphas. They challenge them.

Fascinating report.

I don't doubt any of it.

However, personally, I have never experienced any of this stuff.

But, I will admit, I live in my own world. I pay no attention to girls who are not feminine, young, thin, and cute.

"Ultra Wing Feminist" is a language I don't speak and a world I don't operate in.

My sense is that these criticisms are "Stuff White People Like" criticisms.

Basically the conservative Whites get annoyed with the liberal Whites.

SF is over 30% Asian. Do these criticisms of gender roles reflect their views?

I don't think so. Most are quite traditional in their views of gender roles.

SF is over 20% Latino. Do these critisms reflect their views?

Hell no. Latinos are still very macho and value traditional gender roles.

SF is 6% Black. Do these criticisms reflect their views.

I doubt it.

What I see is conservative Whites arguing with liberal Whites. Nothing else.

And, here is the other thing...

Most of the those so called "ultra left wing feminist" weirdos are not from California. They are transplants from other parts of the country. Usually, they are from conservative places. That's why they come here and over compensate by acting all crazy.

All the crazy people from throughout America come to SF. They act crazy and give us a bad rep. But, mostly they are a product of other areas.

When you are talking to someone in SF, as them if they were born and raised here.

If they were not born and raised in San Francisco, then you are not talking to a San Franciscan.

I'm going to have to defend SF.

I've lived in SF for 5 years coming from the east coast and I really like the lifestyle. I don't own a car the walkability of where I live in awesome. I eat some of the best most diverse food in the world all the time. I use crazy apps that only exist or start out here to bring private cars, groceries, wine, just about anything to my doorstep at the push of a button. I never have to wear a winter coat and can go for a run outside almost any day of the year. I work with fun people and have about the best job prospects in the world here for what I do. I can take weekend trips to wine country, Tahoe, other awesome spots.

Yes it can be incredibly expensive, politically correct, dirty and the dating scene has some significant minuses. It also has some pluses too, lots of immigrants and diversity.

I've thought of moving out of the country but for living in the states I really enjoy SF.

Yeah i still don't get it even if he raised $100K... Again I don't see that as even being mildly successful (SF starts up standards). Unless you're getting to a point where you're generating real revenue and you have a book of biz its not that impressive. Lets go ahead and assume if you get Yc then you are legit if that is the case.

1) he can't get laid with groupies?
2) he can't find any way to leverage his status?

I don't get it.

Same story though, he basically threw negative stigma at himself and at the same time has not "made it yet".

If you're going to come to SF you better know what you're signing up for.

Girls are lower quality yes.
More homeless people yes, just don't go thru the loin.

That's pretty much it, basically yes the cost is ridiculous so if you don't make a lot of money don't bother coming to SF. You'll lose. Similarly don't come here for any other reason than making $$.

This is pretty much the capital of feminism so what do you expect, surely wouldnt recommend it as a US travel destination. Again if you're coming here its for money that's it.

Well, his name is Fillmore Slim, not Louisiana Slim!

Here's a video about Slim and some friendly SF vs LA rivalry:

This book has been recommended on here before. It's a study of the pimps and players in 1970s SF. SF vets will recognize the corner of Columbus and Broadway... [Image: pimp.gif]

SF isn't bad to live in IF you go for the fob girls or east asian chicks AND you actually live within the city limits of SF. if you live in the suburbs of SF like me, then fuck, yes, it does suck (OGNorcal707 can side with me on this).

however, there are better places in the world to live in than SF but if you happen to live in California, then I would say SF>LA. LA is a true piece of shit city and the people in SF are like angels compared to LA.

Roosh left the United States. And, essentially solved his problem.

That gives him the power to complain without it sounding like complaining.

Its sounds more like social satire. Like he is laughing at guys who still live in America.

Well, yes..

He has lived here for like 75 years.

If you live half of a century in a city, you can call it home.

I think the fact that he is from Louisiana played a big role in his development. He was a southern gentlemen with a smooth southern style who brought some Louisiana spice and charm out West. Something about the gumbo and jambalaya and that whole spirit of New Orleans thing.

You know about that stuff. One of your greatest blog posts is about The Magic of New Orleans. You were really in your zone on that one. Try to dig it up.

Whatever it is, he brought it with him to SF.

Never say never but.. It is extremely rare that anyone from San Francisco would ever say "frisco".

It's just not a nickname that ever caught on here. I think most people would say that they don't like the sound of it. "San Francisco" sounds romantic and elegant and worldly. "Frisco" sounds like an appetizer at a bad tex-mex restaurant. That's really all it is. The way it rolls off the tongue.

Again, its very rare for a native to ever say that. Very rare.

In fact the police sometimes catch people because they will ask them -- "Where are you from", if the suspect replies -- "Frisco", the cops get suspicious. Its sound fishy.

Perhaps we should help this guy out, the real reason the internet is blowing up condemning this guy is not because he hates SF, BUT because he said a couple of "misogynistic" things which have really offended the politically correct manginas, beta males and entitled bitches. I was reading some famous news blog where they specifically highlighted these two:

"3. Weather - I hate how the weather here is like a woman who is constantly PMSing. I hate how I can’t tell the difference between August and February.”
“5. 49ers — No, not the football team, they’re great. I’m referring to all the girls who are obviously 4’s and behave like they are 9’s. Just because San Francisco has the worst Female to Male ratio in the known universe doesn’t give you the right to be a bitch all the time.”

He is getting a lot of hate. Either A) he entirely fucked his business because no one will give him finding now or B) he will legit some fame for this which will make him some decent cash.

My guess is A).

Couldn't control his emotions, link is broken now from original Roosh post.

I knew this guy was gonna get tons of hate and apparently he did too so that's why he put out that (lame) disclaimer that essentially says it's all a joke. But it's not a joke - I'm sure he meant everything he said and it was coming from the heart.

Would have been better if he could have just been a man about it and bit the bullet and really gone off. I mean just highlighted specific examples and gone more in depth. You can't have it both ways and he must have know how politically correct and repressive the scene is out there.

Unfortunately my office is basically right next to the loin. The things I've seen on the way to and from work... in the last year I had crack smoke blown near my face, saw at least 4 dicks (pissing guys, naked guys), so much human shit, crackhead women pissing on the street and a huge pool of human blood not cleaned up.

I really like living in SF but my biggest complaint is that they don't do something about the zombies.

In fact this last Friday I got smacked upside the head by a homeless transvestite after telling them not to touch me! My friend jumped in between us and diffused the situation before I had aids blood all over my hands.

I've lived in the heart of SF for 7 years. I'm not gonna say I agree with him about everything, but he's not wrong. It's not impossible to ONS, I've done it quite enough, but it is an order of magnitude harder to get quality than the other cities I've lived. I'd rank NYC, LA, San Diego, Wash DC, Baltimore, Chicago, and Atlanta way easier to bang chicks.

I am not even sure if that is close to true.

DC is a million times worse ratio. So is Southern California.

Dead wrong. I've lived in SF for the last 7 years and spent a significant amount of that time at work in DC. There is no way DC has a worse dating age straight women-> men ratio than SF.

Yeah this guy gets no sympathy from me.

He raised money through SF then threw up a hate speech on it.

This would be like Roosh handing you a loan, then you create a username and write a hate speech against him on his own forum. WTF did he expect, praise? He is socially inept.

Don't get me wrong SF has a quality problem and some cash flow problems (again why I stated if you're not getting a good job don't come here).

With all hat said there were loads of EE tourists at union square today. Most I've seen in 2013.

I have actually partied there many times:

http://www.noblesf.com/

You can check this spot out it gets "hood" sometimes but I have seen some serious talent in this place from time to time. For whatever reason a lot of times the baseball players/basketball players will come out here.

Anyway I live about 2 miles from the loin (not saying much everyone lives 2 miles from it unless you live in the marina), i have walked through it a million times as well. The guy is not going to get a needle in his face for simply strolling through.

Chambers is an "ok" spot sometimes as well.

Downtown civic/Tenderloin is such a small piece of SF its ridiculous to complain about it, in a cab ride you're through the "ghetto" area in less than 5 minutes.

The only people who don't really pass through the loin are the people who live in the Marina.

Hell, I have once rolled through the loin (literally rolling back a few years ago) and the worst thing that happened was some tranny motioning me over with her/his? hand saying "you want some of this"? I simply laughed and kept walking.

These people are not going to fuck you up if you don't want to start shit. The only real dangerous people in SF are gang members, but those people live in Bayview... That's roughly 20 mins driving away.
