I hope everyone who has nice leather dress shoes also uses a cedar wood tree and never wears the same shoe on consecutive days. Makes a very big difference.

The other great thing about Nasons is they give you 1-1.5" of height also. They're great with nice jeans. You can wear them normal hiding some of the action above the jean line, or roll up the jeans a bit if you can pull it off.

You fellas with high end tastes (Prosal, rudebwoy, gmanifesto, etc) have you ever had 'city' boots made by a cobbler? Could you 'break it down' by location, average price, website etc? I want shoes made by a craftsman not mass produced in a factory Guangdong since I can rarely find civilian boots or shoes in my width (XW), and none with a zero drop heel. Bespoke shoes in the US or UK I assume the price would be over $1500, can you recommend places in FSU? The custom shoes shops I checked out in SE Asia were not satisfactory.

Mark Nason boots/shoes.

Their ankle boots are kickass. Avoid the "Lounge" series, as they are a USA made and not Italian hand crafted like the originals.

They're expensive though... $200-400.

Mark Nason is out of biz. Bought out by Sketchers (supreme gay) and are no longer available. Another little piece of American individuality snuffed out by corporate conformity.

Ali, thats a damn shame. You can still buy some Nason boots but it looks like you're right, he totally sold out. Donald Pliner has got nice stuff. Jeffery West has some sick boots, but I'm nit badass enough to pull them off (yet). If I was a rock star Id buy his stuff up.

PutThisOn has a great shoe guide, which I linked above.

I also particularly like the first show linked in The Great Basilisk's post.

Aldens. One of the last of the New England shoemakers.

Only shoe I know of you can send back to the factory for an overhaul - I've done it, and I intend to keep the ones I have until death.

These will be in my rotation this fall among others.

I wear the Red Wings (Black) to death. Serious bad ass shoe and luckily not alot of guys sport them where I live. I only see Asian hipsters rock them now and then, not a bad thing since those cats usually have style.

Ron Wood looks like the boss in the red velvet shoes.

Yeah Red Wing is great value since you can get them repaired or cleaned for the rest of life completely free. Quality is amazing too.

Nordstrom is having an great sale, where there's some significant markdowns on some good stuff. Found these boots below for $259.00, when they're usually $395.00.

So nobody here has wide feet? I cant fit into those silly pointy shoes... just not natural to have your feet squeezed into a point. What am I, a friggin ballerina? Fuck that.

Ive been very happy with Bludnstones, great quality, and if they wear down, they will give you a fresh pair, great customer service. Too bad they are not made in AUS anymore.

Wide shoes are a rare find, and rarer to find stylish ones. Suggestions welcome. I'd consider custom made, but cost would be a consideration.

Looking to buy Red Wing Iron rangers or Wolverine 1000 Miles next.

I don't have the Iron Rangers, so I can't comment on those, but I have a pair of the 1000 miles, and they are good. Incredibly comfortable, and the leather smells really nice (horween leather usually has a nice fragrance). Can't recommend them enough.

Yeah I know the price is insane. Other quality brands can be found much cheaper for around $300 if you keep your eyes open.

I have never owned a pair of shoes that got so much love/hate. Women just have to say something, and it brings out hate/ jealousy in lots of men too. Wearing them is pure trolling, especially if you have swag

Kick back at and throw your sockless feet up and just watch the reaction. Wear a smoking jacket and you just might not make it out alive.

This spring I went nuts and bought two pairs of Gucci loafers which I wear without socks.

With those on I can't walk into a high end store without having store personnel scrambling to get to me first.

Most girls though can't tell they are Gucci because they don't have a large tacky logo splashed over them.

I'm looking for some new shoes for my Eurotrip next week. I'm looking for a pair of stylish sneakers which will look good for casually walking around cities, but also good enough to get into most clubs (I'm have little interest in super high-end/bougie venues). I'm not going to be wearing suits on this trip. What's the consensus on these shoes, specifically for Scandinavian countries and parts of Western Europe. (John Varvatos Converse)

Sperry Top Siders?

Opinions?

If I wear shorts, its almost always with a boat shoe. Even better if I am on a boat or marina. Its true, those things don't slip or mark.

I had Sperry for a few years, but in Canada they are expensive for what you get (a shoe that gets wet, sandy, flattened, beaten down) so I picked up a pair of cheap ones €40 when I was in Italy. No different.

Sperry makes a tonne of styles, colours, etc though.

Good with jeans as well?

I'm not a fan of shorts as I have chicken legs.

May get some red velvet shoes to troll.

All summer I've been wearing boat shoes. Go for Sebago over Sperry. I've been wearing the "docksides" in the color "brown oiled waxy w/smol" (no clue what smol is). http://www.sebago.com/US/en-US/Product.m...ensions=0. I wear them with jeans that rise slightly above my ankles, no socks, and a either a v-neck or a button down shirt. They're good for when it's raining out, and look good enough for me to get into any club in NYC. Also, the more you wear them and the more worn out they get, the better they look.

I'd have to watch one of you guys rock these with success before buying. All I can see happening by wearing these around here is being labeled a fag in Buckhead or beat up in every other bar in Georgia.
