Righto you blokes here's what I've seen.
I'm from Melbourne I work with a couple of blokes who are from NSW and ACT....they slay the female population of Melbourne.
They love Melbourne and reckon the women come up to you in Melbourne....bullshit I thought in my post divorce, women hating haze..

Anyway I go out with these guys and females circle like sharks..after I got over the divorce which was just this year I adopted their mindset and
well Melbourne chicks do come up to you...bloody hell I was so blind...I mistook a couple of approaches but after being called pathetic, hopeless
and dealing with just plain angry women I've finally switched on to it..They don't like being rejected if they make the first move.... watch out.
I do approaches and throw in a bit of Salsa moves nothing complicated and then I get approached...I'm 43 ( look mid 30's) ,I don't care and 20 something year old females seem to like me.

I always thought Melbourne women were to busy trying to get an AFL star...and if you want to find where all the really beautiful women in Melbourne are
find a bar frequented by AFL players....and good luck.

As an ex soldier I've been around this great big land and lived everywhere or partied all over OZ except Perth for some reason.
Adelaide and Brisbane girls are great, easy but I respect them..Sydney girls I love to, I was in the in crowd there and its got some goddamn beautiful women..heaps of coke sluts though,
same as Melbourne now unfortunately..Sydney from what I see, inner city wise, just has gangs of beautiful women walking around it I'm excited every time I have to go there.

You know in all my travels over the years I don't think I ever met an Aussie chick overseas that was a knockout....I have been in Europe this past month and I have yet to meet one...Like most women they are DTF when travelling.
I seem to get along with American women most of the time I really like them.

Yanks have a problem in that American servicemen have been fucking our chicks for 150 years, so your not that special anymore.Sure walk down some main street in your USMC dress blues you will pick up (I've seen that in Brisbane)..And African- Americans with a bit of fitness and game kill it here for women..They seem to love the fat chicks though.
I don't think Australia is anti-American, just don't be a loud mouth. The louder you are the more Aussie women you will annoy.
My old neighbor was American and I've worked with a few that married Aussie women so it does happen.
Working class English guys here seem to pick up alot more than other nationalities.

For the Aussie lads from an pretty American girl "co-ed" I met in Prague 2 weeks ago "I didn't think you would be Australian, all the young Australian guys dress like girls ,whats with that?"

Take heed boys and don't follow the herd....and if your American and have a girlfriend studying in Europe...she's looking for dick break up with her.In fact if she's travelling by herself break up with her.

Are the guys in this thread saying online game sucks in Melbourne on tinder? I do pretty well on it. I've got a pretty good look for Melbourne though, basically I look like a guy in a band so hipster-type chicks are into it.

Personally, it has. I know for a fact that I'm doing worse than average -- and we're talking about actually getting matches. I doubt it's due to looks or race; moreso my choice of photos.

If the Australian commodities bubble ever pops I wonder if the egos of Aussie girls will also come back down to earth and would it correlate with this:

australian girls are likely to be well travelled. a huge percentage have undertaken a trip to europe/southeast asia, same with kiwi girls.

australian girls can be broken down into various socio-economic cultural segments. unlike some other countries where only the rich travel overseas, in australia almost everyone from the cities will be able to venture outside into the big world.

in melbourne here is a breakdown of their characteristics:

white urban hipster - this is actually the mainstream. university educated, probably studied journalism, english, film studies, law, etc. will attend a lot of house parties, live close to the city, tend to love france/italy/south america, will generally go bars over clubs. looks down on gym rats and wogs, loves musicians and artistic types, strong celebration of coffee culture, big into human rights and independent festivals.

white urban mainstream - this is actually the minority but would be considered mainstream overseas or in the rest of australia due to their acceptance of US pop culture. generally studies commerce, business studies, something that doesn't force them to think too hard about values or issues. Lives in the eastern suburbs with family, goes to clubs, likes avicci and EDM festivals, would rather greek islands or koh phangan on holidays than vienna or chiang mai.

white urban trash - uneducated, lives in the west, distant eastern suburbs or far north. might go to tafe to learn hairdressing/beauty therapy or work as a secretary. won't have anything interesting to say. will generally have an unsavoury nasal accent.

white country - generally racist or parochial as they didn't grow up in multicultural urban australia. very rare to find a hot country girl as she only has english/irish DNA, and if she was hot she would probably already be locked down by some guy already in her country town.

westernised asian - big chunk of aussie girl population. they'll either fit into the first or second white girl camp unless their parents were refugees or recent immigrants. like white guys.

wog (meditteranean/levant background) - annoying as fuck. generally hotter than the other groups due to better genetics. very rarely find them in the hipster camp, mostly mainstream, love guys with aesthetics, electronic dance music, can sometimes have far more conservative parents than average girl. mostly commonly have a bit of greek/italian/turk/lebanese/balkan power in them.

Really stuck a cord with this post. Accurate reflection of Melbourne.

I cant imagine Melbourne being too different from many of the more cosmopolitan cities in the US and the chicks that contain them. Many chicks will be well travelled, educated, feminist corrupted and believe a little much in their own perceived sophistication, but the same rules apply I think to gaming them.

Keeping a solid frame is vital in my opinion, as they will cover their insecurities by being snarky and self obsessed. To their credit, they are pretty good at it! And the love for the carousel and desire to be a princess contradiction is ever present in many locals.

And keeping it light and fun. Take away the fear of rejection and even the rejections can be fun...easier said than done.

I've recently been putting more effort into by incidental interactions and observations of females. I was a wedding the other day and suffered the unpleasant experience of sitting across from a fattie. Fuck it was terrible. A 4 a best (WNB), make up overload and glued to smart phone. She didn't even say hello which was fine by me...me neither as I didn't want to validate. Was quick to mention her boyfriend to anyone that cared to listen. Only reason I didn't rip her apart for by own entertainment was I was meeting a few other cool people and trying extending my social circle.

The same day I saw a very frumpy 4 chastising a guy, I expect to be the boyfriend or husband in the middle of the street, broad daylight. I froze in disbelief that he just stood there and took it. Wanted to slap him

Im the first to kick em, but their are some good ones around, and they stand out. Their does appear to be an undercurrent of conservatism around, but it seems to be one or the other, not much in between.

Melbourne-raised here. Another +1 to QE's assessment.

And yes, I've noticed, while there is some overlap, us young Aussie travellers can be put into two camps -- the liberal arts/science-educated SWPL types who like to immerse themselves in the local culture and the middle-class mainstream types that tend to pub-crawl/Contiki their way across Europe/SEA/South America.

I think it's our prominence on the independent travel circuit that fuels back into the idea that we're somehow more sophisticated and worldly than the rest of the Anglosphere -- and don't we hesitate to peacock that on Tinder/OKC. The thing is, having come across travellers from across the Anglosphere -- everywhere from Canada, South Africa, NZ, etc. -- it's really much the same demographics represented; experiencing much the same things. I'd say we're that much more conspicuous because of our smaller population, which is concentrated around the capitals anyway.

Personally I've found Americans to be much more open to being approached than Australians. Yes, there is a shell to crack -- though as a fellow Aussie, the accent is a passport anyway. At least with Melburnians, we have an aloofness borne out of being the sporting and cultural capital -- we like to think of ourselves as the Berlin or NYC of Australia.

Australian girls though, no matter how hipster, will nevertheless gravitate towards alpha cock, and will recognise it for when they see it. They may come across as more masculine than Americans, drink like fish and profess a love of reading anything from Dostoyevsky to Orwell -- at the end of the day they appreciate social proof and a man that can close the deal.

It's somewhat understandable considering the proliferation of beta types in SWPL liberal-educated circles. Being introduced to my white hipster friends of friends and experiencing one dead-fish handshake after another made me wonder how they ended up with stunner girlfriends.

One factor here is that overall, Aussie girls enjoy a solid home-ground advantage in the calibre of local guys. Our sport and gym culture means that the guys especially take care of our shape. Even a 4 or 5 can deem herself entitled to a benchmark standard in a guy, and you can imagine what that means for the 8s and up. Call it looks inflation if you like.

Besides everything we have in common with the other Western countries, we have strong male competition. Aussie dudes by and large aren't pussies. We have a lethal combination of being tall, working out and being more aggressive approachers that dudes from other Western countries don't have, we're hitting it out of the park in all 3.

This is why besides the tourists and the Asian international students, guys are best off going for indie/hipster and upper-middle class+ preppy girls. Both groups are thinner the average, the former are just plain easy and the later easily the hottest demographic of girls in Australia. The hipster dudes are about as masculine as gay twink bottoms, and the prep dudes may be tall and good looking but they're not aggressive either. Meanwhile in the run of the mill or trashy venues, the ratios are much worse plus the girls are fatter and the dudes are more likely to be jacked and approaching.

On the bright side, the girls are sluts. It's hard to get girls out on dates, but once you do getting the bang just comes down to putting in the requisite # of them, running don't fuck up game and isolating. All the nightlife is heavily concentrated in the CBD's and immediate surrounds. My philosophy is unless you leave or just give up on having a good sex life, your only option is to max out every area of your self-improvement, focus on the niche's you do best in and get tight logistics. This is how I stay positive. For my vibe's sake I refuse to get negative about how it is here until I reach the full extent of the potential I was born with. If that day comes and I'm still not satisfied I'll leave if I haven't already.

Even though this was posted over a year ago, I can also confirm that it is an accurate representation of Melbourne. In Melbourne, the guys who do the best are the hipster guys who play in bands and are strongly connected to the Melbourne music/hipster scene.

Also, this guide would also apply to Sydney as well. However, the only difference would be that Sydney has a higher proportion of Asian girls who have moved here for study and/or work (most of these girls are from China or Korea).

In my experience, I can say that this group is a somewhat untapped market in Sydney, especially if you're a local.

Just from traveling, if you go to places such as Ios full of Australians it's hard to fit into the group there and some Aussie girl told me they love the french canadian accent but it didn't really bring me anywhere. I'm not really interested in their personality they don't sound cute at all.

Melbourne only has a couple % less Asians in comparison, and less Middle Easterners but more continental Europeans. Over 1 in 10 Melbournians have Italian or Greek heritage.

I wouldn't worry too much about what Aussie girls say - they generally talk a lot of crap.

However, a significant proportion of Aussie girls travel overseas to slut it up, taking random dicks without the risk of being judged by her social circle back home. A lot these types of girls travel to places which they consider exotic such as Italy, France and Scandinavia.

That's right. Although I wasn't a drinker, myself & a lot of my friends went to bars/clubs every weekend [Fake IDs].

That period [up until around 2004] was the easiest I ever had it with women [including right now]. We looked about 18 but we were able to hook up (Mainly kissing) girls with very little resistance. They were also what I would now classify as 8's.

I'm sure there might be some other environmental factors that I can't pinpoint; but at the time we we're essentially skinny kids with no game doing extremely well with older women.

Around 2004 something subtle changed. By the time we were all 18 and legally able to enter the clubs, in the space of around 6 months resistance suddenly grew. While it previously took 5 minutes of light conversation to hook up - suddenly that didn't work anymore. We eventually got into game to counteract whatever had suddenly changed. It seemingly went from a difficulty level of easy to very hard overnight.

The only thing I can pin point is technology. When we were hitting the clubs underage I didn't have a mobile. I think the Nokia 3210 was the best one available & nobody really used it. Everyone hadn't really fallen into that technology bubble which has in a way killed today's conversation skills.

That's the only logical thing I can pin point as to why a 15 year old kid with no game was more successful with female 8's than his 27 year old, infinitely more experienced counterpart.

^ When they say now it is easier than ever to hook up with technology what they mean is with 5s and low 6s if you are a 7+ male.

Or if you are an rich or famous or 8+ (includes massive game to up the scale) male then hooking up with many 7+ hotties is better than ever.

For every other life situation for males it has gotten much worse.

I have some friends that are college educated male 5.5-6.0 in looks and they have never gotten a solid response from a 5+ after multiple attempts at online dating. Not a single solid conversation leading to a number. Only fat ugly gorilla women messaging them.

Maybe I'm just a Melbourne specialist, but I've found it easier here than in Western Europe, and that includes the UK. German girls I found especially cold and difficult to strike up a conversation with. The only girls I found in Western Europe who I'd describe as friendlier than Australians (as in open to approach) were Spanish chicks, but that was still harder because their level of English isn't great, and they're always with about 12 friends.

I mainly hang out in the northern suburbs hipster enclave, going to gigs and such, and usually the ratios are fine if you don't go out super late. I've found the 'going out late = sausage fest' to be true everywhere I've gone though.

I'm also going to defend the attractiveness of the girls. In the area I've described, a girl between 18-30 is generally going to be in shape and a lot of them are pretty good looking. Plus you get a good mixture of races/ethnicities, which if you've got catholic taste in women like me is a plus. I'd say Australian girls on average aren't amazing, but inner-city Melbourne attracts more young, in-shape, attractive people, so the demographics there are good. Only problem is the guys are good-looking and confident as well so you've got legit competition.

It's easier for me in Asia and Latin America, but I don't think that's a fair comparison because of exotic/white god factor.

Funny that; I found it quite the opposite in Europe. Maybe Europe might be more beta-friendly -- I hadn't even gotten into game yet and in fact encountered a red pill awakening of sorts. I also speak a few languages so I could run culture game, something which is really niche here. [Image: tongue.gif]

There's also the issue that I'd been flitting through so many social circles since 18, so Europe was a chance to wipe my slate blank.

Re the coldness of German chicks -- I was told on Saturday that there's a German saying -- translated -- that "friends in America are easy to make but fickle to keep; but a German friend is difficult to make but easy to last".

Part of me wonders whether the inner north indie scene wasn't at its heyday much earlier, circa 2008. Brunswick St started getting more mainstream afterwards, driving up competition. Also a lot of decent venues started to close -- e.g. the Rochester.

There's a point worth noting: it's been mentioned hipster girls tend to be in decent shape. I think that's due to the current of veganism/vegetarianism running through that subtype. Also like I said, Melbourne is also a huge sporting/gym stronghold. Chicks in that demographic take care of their shape too. Granted, there are even then a few fatties/plain Janes to sift through. You just have to find a niche.

I think my era [1980-90] went through a very unique transition. We were in that 18-25 bracket pre & post the social media boom.

I couldn't explain the exact reason why, but that shift definitely changed the dating market. I wouldn't pick on internet dating because [For mind] even as recent as 2010, internet dating was 'For losers'. Perhaps the sudden surplus in options…

Back then I was the opposite of game. I'd ask terrible questions like 'Do you come here often' - I'd buy a girl drinks, I'd give out frequent compliments & I was hooking up with an 8+ on a weekly basis. It's funny how times change.

I was born in 89, so I'm about the same age as you. I had a girlfriend for a few years just as social media was really becoming popular, or at least facebook, and I didn't do much gaming before then so I missed the transitional phase as you're describing it. If the 'social media is making it harder for players' theory is true then it should be getting progressively harder every year for guys in the game though, and I'm just not seeing it.

I'm friends with girls who use shit like tinder and instagram and yeah it divides their attention, but I know 100% they still prefer a guy coming up to them and talking to them in real life. In fact I know a few girls who were on tinder, but they deleted it for whatever reason. It's kinda like what Krauser says about how it seems that hot girls are getting spammed by so much attention that they must be getting dicked three times a day, but actually hardly any of those guys would meet her attraction threshold, so she isn't fucking any of them. http://krauserpua.com/2014/06/16/the-sup...rsal-girl/

Also, I don't think Australian guys are that thirsty, at least not in the same sense I hear about on here. I recently asked every girl I know if they ever got catcalled or 'street harrassed' and they all said no; plus no Aussie guy I know would be caught dead posting thirsty shit on facebook or instagram, it's just embarrassing. Maybe that stems the validation tide slightly?

Are you sure you didn't just have really good venue knowledge back when you were killing it? That definitely makes a difference. I know some venues in Melbourne that used to be mini poosy paradises on some nights (Worker's Club in Fitzroy on a Monday springs to mind), but now they're played out and you have to find the new cool place where young chicks like to congregate. It also helps if you're in a social circle that throws a lot of house parties.

I think the only time you'll see 'thirsty Aussies' is at night clubs/bars. I've never met an Aussie who uses Facebook or Online dating for pick-up [Though I'm sure some exist]. In fact I only really heard about Tinder last year.

I've never been to Melbourne; perhaps it has a different vibe down there.

Regarding the venues; I never really had a local 'Go To' venue. It was more a case of 'try somewhere new' each weekend.

I'm probably the opposite of a lot of guys on here in the respect that I didn't get into game due to 'a lack of girls' when I was younger. More so it was a response to the ability to pick-up suddenly becoming immensely harder (And perhaps this hit other cities a lot earlier than Sydney).

After exclusively picking up girls around the 8 range; that same ease of pick-up only began to work on 5's & 6's. It's really only been the last few years where I've got back to that same constant quality [And it requires a hell of a lot more game than the 5 minutes of compliments that worked in my teens].
